rome-2-caesar-in-gaul-screen-03

The first campaign expansion for Total War: Rome II, Caesar in Gaul, has launched on Steam and brings the seven-year Gallic war to player’s monitors. Like with most expansions, the scope is tightened on a smaller but more in-depth area of the world map in Western Europe.

Caesar in Gaul brings back seasonal changes, multiple turns per year and a few new gameplay effects and visual changes for the real-time strategy game. A new historical battle is added, the Battle of Alesia, which happened to be Caesar’s decisive struggle in the war for Gaul and where players must survive a two-pronged assault by Gallic forces.

Along with the content, a new patch has arrived for everyone bringing important gameplay changes. For full change notes, visit the official site. Check out the official trailer below.

AC4: Black Flag’s New DLC Has a Live-Action Clip

ac4-freedom-cry-live

To celebrate the release of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Freedom Cry, Ubisoft has made a short live-action video with a CGI character model running amock on the rooftops of Quebec. See it below.

While it’s not exactly relevant to Freedom Cry since players take on the role of Kenway’s machete-wielding quartermaster, Adewale, it is a spiffy piece of promotion. Freedom Cry is the first major DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and features roughly three hours of gameplay that follows Adewale’s vendetta against the enslavery of his people.

Check out our recent review of the PlayStation 4 version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to see what all the fuss is about.

Remember when Cranky Kong got announced? Well, I have a feeling we will be seeing more of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as Nintendo are planning a Nintendo Direct in mere hours to showcase a selection of titles releasing in early 2014.

As usual, the show will be hosted by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and Nintendo of Europe President Satoru Shibata, but other than those two, we know nothing of what will be shown (aside from Wii U and 3DS titles). I would expect to see some clips from already announced titles, but it is Nintendo we are talking about here, and with these Nintendo Directs, it is best to expect the unexpected. Check out all of the locations you can view the event below, as well as times.
