Monster Monpiece Western Release Announced

monster-monpiece-were-cat>We have some great news for fans of Idea Factory and Compile Heart, it seems that Idea Factory International will be working on localizing some of their own games as it has been announced today that Monster Monpiece will be released in North America and Europe in spring 2014 for the PS Vita.

With this announcement however comes a bit of frustration as the company has also announced that certain Monster Girl cards have been removed form the game “solely due to the intense sexual nature of Monster Girl card images” though they say that “the gameplay, game system, and storyline are still fully intact.”

Fans have been quick to voice their anger over the censorship, but considering the title is a card based game where players will battle monster girls with monster girl cards and the rubbing feature has remained intact, we should be happy to receive the title at all. Currently no price or release plan has been revealed by the company.

Assassin’s Creed V could take place in feudal Japan

assassins-creed-feudal-japanSince Ubisoft‘s first Assassin’s Creed title, people have been wondering where each subsequent title would take place. Since the first game we’ve had one during the Renaissance in Italy, the American Revolution in the United States, and finally one in the Caribbean during the height of piracy.

Now with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in the books, fans are curious about where the series could go from here and thanks to an interview Black Flag’s creative director Jean Guesdon had with VG247 we might have a bit of a clue on where it could take place.

In the interview Guedson hinted that “Feudal Japan remains – like numerous other time periods and locations – a possible future setting for the franchise” and that thanks to the nature of the Animus, “the entire human history is our playground.” Feudal Japan, or an ancient Chinese setting, have been some of the most talked about locations that fans of the game would like to see, but for now all we can do is hope.

Akame Ga KILL! Anime Confirmed

Akame-Ga-Kill-Anime-Announced-01
Kill or be killed

The February issue of Square Enix‘s Gangan Joker magazine (a shonen publication, featuring such series as Watamote) confirmed that an anime based on the ongoing manga series Akame Ga KILL! Suspicions of an anime were previously raised when TOHO registered the “akame.tv” domain.

Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…

Not for the faint of heart, the series features a large variety of horrible scenarios and gruesome deaths. Such actions as beheadings, characters having eyes gouged out, limbs broken and removed, torture, committing suicide by jumping, execution by boiling, characters having their faces sliced off, crucifixion, a pregnant woman being torn apart, and a woman being assaulted by a dog. So if that sounds horrible to you, which it is, you may want to be wary of this series. If not, enjoy the violence…or something like that.

Check out the volume covers below and catch a glimpse of the characters that will star in this new series where mercy seems like a novel concept. So much violence.

insurgency-screen-01

Insurgency, the multiplayer tactical first-person shooter from New World Interactive, is set to leave Steam’s Early Access program tomorrow. In preparation for it’s official launch day tomorrow, the game has received a massive update that’s working its way toward 400 MB.

Your typical patch-type fixes are included this time around, of course. A few minor bugs have been fixed, the user interface has had some work done to it, and a couple of maps have been taken out of rotation to be brought up to snuff. Also included today, however, were several significant improvements and new content, including a new weapon, the ability to sprint through breakable glass, and more.

For the full breakdown on what changes were made in the patch, check out their official post here. Be sure to check out the game on Steam and join the fun too.
