Naruto Storm Revolution World Tournament Mode Revealed

Naruto-Shippuden-Ultimate-Nina-Storm-Revolution-Screenshot-01

Namco Bandai Games has today released several screenshots highlighting a brand new single player mode for their latest entry in the now long running Ultimate Ninja series. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution will be the first game in the series to have four player ninja-melee battles by way of the new Ninja World Tournament Mode. Players win these battles by collecting the most Battle Orbs, which are gained upon attacking your opponents. The Ninja World Tournament takes place on Festival Island where all breeds of ninja have garthered from around the world seeking victory in a variety of melee brawls against multiple opponents. Tournament entrants will be able to compete in tiered battles, working their way across the island to reach the S-ranked battles to be crowned the ultimate Ninja.  It seems this new mode will have a story to go along with it, with Mecha Naruto being important to the plot somehow.

While it would be awesome to see this new mode adapted online it looks like for now this may only be single player option, meaning it will be you taking on three CPU opponents. None the less it is still a cool addition and it is good to see the series experiment with new modes. You can check out all the screenshots below.

Learn how to become a master thief with Thief’s latest trailer

Thief-Screen-06

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Thief, but it is a disservice to call it a simple trailer since it clocks in at over six minutes in length. Though when you consider the fact that Thief has just “gone gold” then perhaps it makes sense to teach potential players about how to become a master thief.

As you will see if you check out the video, the trailer focuses on teaching players how to move through the shadows and become a master thief by using the numerous tools at their disposal. Currently Thief is set to be released on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. We recently had a chance to check out the first few hours of the game and you can find our impressions of that gameplay session here.

NETHER INTRODUCES BRAND NEW FEATURES WITH CREATURE MODE AND CRAFTING

NETHER INTRODUCES BRAND NEW FEATURES WITH CREATURE MODE AND CRAFTING

First-person Urban Surival Game Also Unveils Its Upcoming Tribe System

CHICAGO – February 4, 2014 – Surviving in the ruins of Nether is no easy task and now players have new choices thanks to today’s feature update for the first-person urban survival game. The long awaited and highly requested crafting feature is now live and a soon to be available creature mode that lets players wreak havoc as a nether will be available later this month. Nether is also adding a tribe system, featuring tribe bases, a tribe skill tree and tribe objectives, that will go into the game at the end of February. In the meantime, players can sign up for a tribe to earn special in-game items and new players can join in the process by purchasing Nether via Steam or at PlayNether.com for 25 percent off until February 7.

New features include:

  • Creature Mode – Players wanting to cause more chaos in Nether can morph into nethers and use their stalking skills to terrorize the streets

Crafting/Trading – No weapons no problem. Players can now scavenge the city ruins and create their own arms for dispatching nethers or trade them in Safe Zones for needed suppliesNew in-game items, including a motorcycle biker suit and other tools for survival

Since launching early access Nether has used player input when selecting features for updates and to continue the tradition fans can submit choices to determine the tribe names. The top names will then enter a community vote. All those who join a tribe from now until February 15 will earn in-game cash, loot and a free tribe uniform.

“The main focus of any survival game is to see how long someone can last before biting the dust, but what makes for a rich playing experience are added elements that challenge players on another level,” said Chip Sineni, Creative Director at Phosphor Games. “With creature mode and crafting, we are giving players these added components that not only make surviving more exciting, but also gives fans new ways to explore the city.”

Nether is a first-person urban survival gaming experience unlike any other. Nether forces players to make quick life-saving decisions in an unforgiving environment. In this post-apocalyptic urban world, death is waiting around every corner, at the top of high-rise buildings, and in the grasp of powerful teleporting creatures known as nethers. To navigate this high-tension environment, players must use skill and cunning in order to obtain food, weapons, supplies, and other resources necessary to survive in a desolate and dangerous city. Players can choose whether or not to team up with others or go at it solo against the nethers, other players, and unpredictable, treacherous world objectives. In the end, players must decide if they will Prey or Pray.
