UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES CHILD OF LIGHT™ RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES CHILD OF LIGHT™ RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

London, UK – February 6, 2014 – Ubisoft confirmed today that Child of Light, the turn-based RPG set in the magical world of Lemuria, will release on April 30th, 2014. The game will be available for download on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox® 360 and Xbox® One, the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® 4, the eShop from Nintendo for the Wii U, and PC Digital, at the price of £11.99.

The game is created by a small team of seasoned developers based in Ubisoft Montreal.  Child of Light has been developed on Ubisoft’s UbiArt Framework, a powerful engine that lets programmers and artists bring their art to life by allowing original concept art to be inserted unedited into the game world. In Child of Light, the effect is akin to stepping into an interactive painting.

Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria.  Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore a mystical kingdom. The game puts players in the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the Queen of the Night. Helped by her companion Igniculus the firefly and several unlikely allies, Aurora will face her darkest fears, including dragons and other mystical creatures, in this modern take on a coming-of-age story.

The sequel to one of Jules Verne’s greatest adventures: Mysterious Island!

THE ADVENTURE
Return to Mysterious Island 2 begins with the crash of the helicopter that came to rescue Mina. She survived but is once again trapped on the island. All of a sudden, under her very eyes, an unknown disease afflicts the plants first, then the animal life. Mina explores the island to locate the infection source. She searches Captain Nemo’s base in vain, then the ruins of an unknown civilization, and finally understands that it is outside pollution that threatens the island. The only way to save this natural wonder is to turn the shield back on. But if Mina makes this decision, she gives up -as Captain Nemo did before her- the idea of returning to civilization…

MIDNIGHT CITY ANNOUNCES DOUBLE DRAGON: NEON NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM

MIDNIGHT CITY ANNOUNCES DOUBLE DRAGON: NEON NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM

Face-Melting Neon Action Pushes Steam to the MAX

Edison, NJ – February 6, 2014 – Midnight City, the recently founded indie label of Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of games for the mass market, is proud to announce Double Dragon: Neon is now available for Windows PC via Steam, listed at a tasty $9.99.

Building on the highly successful release on console, the PC version sports full Steam integration and online cooperative play for a true Double Dragon experience. In its console debut, Double Dragon: Neon revitalized the franchise with an updated look and good ol’ fashioned street fights. The world’s most iconic arcade brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee are back in a reboot of the classic side-scrolling, beat-em-up that fueled a generation of gamers. When Marian is kidnapped by the evil forces of the Shadow Warriors gang, the brothers set out to win her back and take down their chief nemesis Skullmageddon. Along the way, players will take on hordes of street-gangs, guzzle gallons of soda, and rock out to some stellar tunes in the form of ability-enhancing mixtapes.

Fans of the series can expect all of the classic Double Dragon action, including punches, kicks, and some of the gnarliest thugs around! In addition, players have a dedicated evade button that makes it just a little easier to avoid enemy attacks. When timed perfectly, evading an attack can boost offensive strength for a short time for some devastating results. In local and online co-op, players can ‘high-five’ to share health, ‘psych’ up their comrades for special moves, and revive their fallen partner. As the duo beats their way through five beautifully rendered environments, they’ll come across soda to restore health, key items, and mix-tapes scattered throughout each level. The tapes have unique abilities, and players can equip two tapes at once to create some killer combinations. In addition, tapes also stack allowing players to customize and intensify the effects of each cassette.

The incredibly radicool official soundtrack is available for free or donation via composer Jake Kauffman’s website, for those who just can’t get enough! http://virt.bandcamp.com/album/double-dragon-neon

Double Dragon: Neon is rated T for Teen and is available now for an SRP of $9.99.

Indie label Surprise Attack Games to publish Vertiginous Golf Dystopian steampunk golf game tees off on Steam Early Access next month

Indie label Surprise Attack Games to publish Vertiginous Golf Dystopian steampunk golf game tees off on Steam Early Access next month

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, February 6, 2014 – Surprise Attack Games, an indie games label based in Australia,  is excited to announce that it will partner with Kinelco and Lone Elk Creative to bring Vertiginous Golf to fans of the popular dystopian steampunk golf genre everywhere. The game is approved for release on Steam and will launch on to Steam Early Access in March 2014. Those golfers who cannot wait are able to pick up a beta copy now via the game’s website.

Vertiginous Golf is a physics-based, first person exploratory mini-golf game, set in an alternate, steampunk-infused world where life on the ground is enveloped in permanent smog, constant darkness and never-ending rain. Players will chip and putt their way around floating courses with complex machinery and Victorian-era décor, as they slowly discover what the hell is going on.

“This sort of game is basically why we set up Surprise Attack in the first place,” said Chris Wright, Managing Director of Surprise Attack Games. “I mean, who makes a game about mini-golf in the sky, with elaborate victorian contraptions, a golden mechanical hummingbird you can use to explore the levels and a mysterious story to uncover? Awesome people, that’s who.”

“We’re excited to be working with Surprise Attack for our new game Vertiginous Golf,” said Christian Holland, Director at Lone Elk Creative. “Their enthusiasm and skills have already helped shape the evolution of the project and we’re confident they’ll help get the game to the right audience with the right message. With a Steam release in the pipeline and management of community and social media, it allows us more time to communicate with our community and concentrate on the game’s development.”

In development for PC with Mac and Linux versions planned, Vertiginous Golf will launch on Steam Early Access in March 2014 for $15. Players who want to play right away or like a bargain can grab the existing version of the game at the current price of $10 right now via the game’s website.

The development team at Kinelco and Lone Elk are planning a very open and community-driven development through to the full launch later in 2014. Players who buy into the Early Access can expect to have input into development decisions as well as frequent updates with new content and features along the way.
