Turtle Beach Teaming up with Lucasfilm for Star Wars Branded Gaming Headsets

Turtle Beach announced that they will be creating a line of Star Wars branded gaming headsets. The line will be headlined with headsets featuring the upcoming animated TV series Star Wars Rebels. Gamers will be able to get a first look at the headset line at E3 2014 this June.

“As a company in the gaming and entertainment space, we can’t help but be excited by the prospect of working on Star Wars headset designs in collaboration with Lucasfilm,” said Bob Picunko Chief Marketing Officer at Turtle Beach. “We are looking forward to introducing state-of-the-art headsets that appeal to both casual and elite players who are fans of Star Wars.”

The Star Wars Turtle Beach headsets will be released in Fall 2014. No word on which headsets in Turtle Beach’s line will receive the Star Wars treatment just yet.

First full Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea trailer released

Today Gust and Tecmo Koei have released the first full trailer for Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. In this trailer many of the game’s mechanics are shown off such as exploration, battle, and alchemy as well as a few of the characters that are in the game.

You can check out the trailer below and be sure to keep an eye out in the final few seconds as Escha and Logy’s opening video appears for a few seconds, though it is currently unknown if they will play a part in Atelier Shallie in any way. Currently Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is set to be released in Japan on July 17th and will likely be released in North America sometime in early 2015 if Tecmo’s localization history for the series is anything to go by.

Learn the basics in Sniper Elite 3’s latest gameplay trailer

Today Rebellion and 505 Games have released an almost five minute long gameplay trailer for Sniper Elite 3 showing off tons of new gameplay footage, details on the game’s storyline and pieces of footage that go over how the player can use the game’s new environments to their advantage.

Sniper Elite 3 features a number of new mechanics that allow the player to mask their presence and even vehicle destruction that is just as detailed looking as the gruesome kill cams. Check out the full video below to learn how to take out your targets with the best of them once Sniper Elite 3 is released on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Risen 3: Titan Lords release date announced alongside cinematic trailer

risen-3-titan-lords-box-artLast month Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes teased a CGI trailer that would be released later on and now that full trailer has been released and you can check it out below. The trailer shows an armored warrior try to take down a lich looking enemy only for the spell to not even cause the enemy to flinch before sending a monstrous dog after the warrior who just barely manages to defeat it before having to face off against even more creatures summoned by the lich.

The trailer also gives us the game’s release date which, showing that Risen 3: Titan Lords will be released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on August 12 in North America and August 15 in Europe. Previously announced details involve the game having an overhauled fighting system and a new animation style. There will also be three guilds available to play through and a number of other factions to help pad out the experience. Risen 3: Titan Lords’ official box art has also been revealed and can be found to the right.

Omega Quintet announced for PS4 by Compile Heart

Remember how Compile Heart was teasing an announcement for their Galapagos brand? Well today that announcement has been made courtesy of Famitsu and it happens to be a JRPG called Omega Quintet for the PlayStation 4. While a number of games have been announced and released on the new console, this is the first JRPG to actually be announced as a PS4 exclusive.

Omega Quintet is being described as a mix between idol management and an RPG where mysterious creatures called “Beep” are starting to affect the minds of humans and destroy the world. The five heroines in this game are able to defeat the Beep through singing. As you can see above and below, a single screenshot of the game has been released so far as well as character art for all five girls with their names as follows: Otoha, Kyouka, Kanadeko, Nene, and Aria. Currently Omega Quintet is set to be released in Japan on September 18th.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced for November

Today Nintendo announced that they are bringing out two new Pokémon games later this year, though how new they are can be subjective this time around since these games are redone versions of the Game Boy Advance release of Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire as they are called will be released worldwide in November 2014 and no details have been announced for these games as of yet, though a “new adventure” and “new world” appear in the trailer which you can check out below which might mean that the games have been given more than just a modern overhaul.

Planets³ is a beautifully presented, unique mix of adventure, RPG, dungeon crawler and building. Mark Cerny named Development Legend at July’s Develop Industry Excellence Awards 2014

UK, May 7th – Mark Cerny will be inducted as 2014’s Development Legend at the Develop Industry Excellence Awards in Brighton, UK on July 9th.

The video games icon will join an elite few to pick up the prestigious accolade. Previous recipients include the likes of Tim Sweeney, Mark Rein, David Perry, Peter Molyneux, David Braben, Charles Cecil, Phil Harrison and Ian Livingstone.

The award acknowledges Cerny’s significant contribution to the games industry throughout his impressive career.

His debut game at age 18 was Marble Madness for Atari in 1984, the first release in a sparkling career that saw him travel the world working on major hits such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone 3, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Most recently Cerny is celebrated for being the mastermind behind the technical architecture of Sony’s PS4 console. The device for which he was lead system architect has already sold over seven million units, just six months after release – a games industry record.

Cerny will collect the award in person at the Develop Industry Excellence Awards, an event hosted by Develop (www.develop-online.net) and its publisher Intent Media.

“Mark Cerny is a true legend of games development,” said Develop’s publisher Michael French. “He is a respected games designer and hardware developer with a multi-faceted, cross-discipline skill set.
