EA discusses Mirror’s Edge in E3 video

mirrors-edge-e3-screenshot-01

The last time we really heard anything about Mirror’s Edge was at last year’s E3 but EA isn’t about to leave us hanging on the game. Well, they are but at least they are still going to pop in and remind us that the game is still in development.

Today during EA‘s E3 press conference the company revealed that they are still working on the title and showed off various conceptual footage, art designs, and real life parkour artists in a video that you can check out below. Unfortunately there was no release window given or any solid gameplay shown off outside of the early footage, so expect this title to be in the works for quite a couple more years.

NHL 15’s first gameplay trailer is impressive looking

nhl-15-screenshot-02

Back when NHL 15 was announced about a month ago, all we knew of the title came from a teaser trailer and what the company had to say about the various graphical improvements and how they have adjusted the physics of the game over last year’s iteration.

Well now for E3 during EA‘s press conference they released their first full trailer for NHL 15 which can be found below. This footage is all taken from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, though the title will also be available on the PS3 and 360 when it is released on September 9th in North America and September 12th elsewhere.

Phantom Dust to be rebooted for the Xbox One

phantom-dust-screenshot-01

You may remember a certain fighting game called Phantom Dust for the original Xbox. It was developed by Panzer Dragoon’s Yuko Futatsugi and earned itself a reputation of being a cult classic that never quite took off.

As such at Microsoft‘s E3 press conference it was one hell of a surprise when they revealed that Phantom Dust is going to be given a revival and will be rebooted for the Xbox One by the same team that handled Killer Instinct’s reboot. No details were released for the game but a CG trailer, which can be found below, was shown off to hype up those in attendance. Expect more news on Phantom Dust as it becomes available.

New Crackdown on Xbox One Revealed

Crackdown-Xbox-One-Screenshot-01

We thought it’d be announced last year, but Microsoft held out on the reveal of a next-gen Crackdown for today, at their E3 2014 Media Briefing.

Check out the reveal trailer embedded at the bottom of this article. ‘Crackdown on Xbox One’ (as it’s being referred to) is being developed by the original creator, Dave Jones. Of course, there’s a studio behind him, but they were not named. Gamers will return to Pacific City, but with a focus on co-operative and competitive mayhem via Xbox Live and in the Campaign. The city itself is also destructible, and can cause a domino effect of sorts if compromised, ergo, a building crashing into another. At least, that’s what we are led to believe.

At Microsoft‘s E3 press conference, Hideki Kamiya surprisingly took the stage to reveal that he and Platinum Games are currently working on an Xbox One exclusive called Scalebound. Following this announcement a two minute long teaser trailer for the game was revealed and you can check that out below.

This video shows an adventurer with a large pair of head-phones teaming up with a fire-breathing dragon to take down another creature. Currently no release window was revealed, but it also looks like the main character will be able to change into a scale covered form when connected to his dragon.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Unveiled

The much anticipated sequel to Game of the Year last year’s multiple Game of the Year candidate (and winner), the Tomb Raider reboot, has been revealed at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming to the Xbox One in the Holiday of 2015, with more platforms to be confirmed, and you can find the CGI announcement trailer embedded at the bottom of this article. It opens with Lara speaking to her psychiatrist, obviously affected by the events that took place on Yamatai. But, by the end, she resolves that those experiences have not crippled her, instead forcing her to realise and become the person she was always meant to be. The entry will take place across multiple locations around the world and, in the words of the developer, “put the tombs back in Tomb Raider”, the lacking of which was one of the very few drawbacks last time out.

Those last two official nuggets are extremely exciting, and it sounds like we can expect another GOTY worthy release from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. Stay tuned to Capsule Computers for more E3 2014 coverage, and future updates on Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Today during the Microsoft E3 press conference there was only mention of one Kinect only title and it happened to be Dance Central Spotlight, this being the first Dance Central game in two years after Dance Central 3 was released back in 2012.

Dance Central Spotlight is going to be given a digital only release in September and it will be taking full advantage of the enhanced Kinect to offer players a number of new dance moves and a fitness mode. Harmonix also briefly mentioned Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved which is still set for an October 21st release on the 360 and Xbox One, though he did not go into detail about the title.

Playdead Studios Out of Limbo, Reveal INSIDE

inside-screenshot-01

Ever since the amazing LIMBO released in 2010, we’ve waited with baited breath for Playdead Studios‘ next title…well, now we know what that successor is: INSIDE.

Revealed with a gameplay trailer during the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing, INSIDE looks to be just as atmospheric, but in a completely different and unique aspect. It retains a 2D plane of platformer/adventure gameplay, but with a more dynamic (though, seemingly non-controllable) camera, showcasing more of an immersive 3D environment as you attempt to escape a facility with a mysterious purpose. INSIDE will release first on the Xbox One, in early 2015.

Check out the aforementioned gameplay trailer embedded below! And stay tuned to Capsule Computers for more E3 2014 coverage!
