The upcoming turned based strategy/RPG game Mordheim: City of the Damnedwill be hitting Steam Early Access before the full 1.0 launch. It appears that developers Rogue Factor will be releasing a beta build to give gamers a chance to tweak the game and prepare for a polished launch. “We will use your feedback for balancing and bug correcting, globally building the best experience in both solo and multiplayer games,” said Rogue Factor.
No official launch date for the Steam Early Access release has been set beyond later in 2014. In the mean time, Rogue Factor releases a batch of new screenshots featuring the Sisters of Sigmar, the Mercenaries of the Empire, and the Skaven of the Eshin clan.
Last month we learned that Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires would be released in the West early 2015 and it seems that Koei Tecmo is planning on getting the title out in the first month of the year. Today the company has announced that Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires will be released in North America on January 27th and in Europe on January 30th. Also revealed is the fact that the game will now be coming to the PC alongside the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires not only allows 83 playable characters to choose from but also the ability to create your own original fighter using a multitude of customization options and, new to this iteration of the Empires series, the ability to customize the looks of banners, horses, and basic officers. To go along with this announcement Koei Tecmo released a number of new screenshots for the title which you can check out below.
Less than a week from release, Activision have unveiled a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare live-action trailer, starring Taylor Kitsch (John Carter, the upcoming season of True Detective) and Emily Ratajkowski (Gone Girl), directed by Peter Berg, whom Kitsch worked with on Lone Survivor. Tim Ellis, CMO, Activision Publishing, Inc., talked about it as part of the larger Advanced Warfare launch campaign;

Sekai Project is continuing to be a new driving force behind bringing Japanese visual novels to the English speaking world by launching a Kickstarter project for WAS The Hourglass of Lepidoptera. This dystopian post-war visual novel takes place in Japan but with an altered history where nothing is quite as simple as it seems.
Developed by SRL and set in the real life city of Tottori, Japan, WAS The Hourglass of Lepidoptera is a project of “content tourism” which is when a form of media is used to help promote local tourism. The title was released in Japan in August 2014 and now with Sekai Project helping SRL with a Kickstarter, they are hoping to release it in English in the future.
With the help of an already released English demo, available here, the Kickstarter has already managed to surpass its initial funding goal of $10,000 but that is only for the basic release. If the title manages to reach its stretch goal of $30,000 then the original Japanese voice work will be included in event scenes and if it makes it to $46,000 then the entire Japanese dub will be included as these fees will cover the rights to release the voice actors’ work overseas.
The Kickstarter will conclude on November 26th and those who pledge $15 or more will be given a copy of WAS The Hourglass of Lepidoptera for Steam once it is released for the PC. Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil HD Remaster and although it is in Japanese, a number of improvements made to the game are shown off.
In the video, which you can check out below, you can catch a glimpse of the game’s new aspect ratio as well as the option to switch to the original aspect ratio, a much needed updated control scheme plus the option to use the old tank control scheme if you like the punishment, and another look at the previously unlocked BSAA outfits for Chris and Jill. It is also worth noting that this trailer shows that both Wesker Reports will be included in the release.
With Halo: The Master Chief Collection set to be released in a little under two weeks worldwide, Microsoft has released the launch trailer for Halo 2 Anniversary which is one of the games that will be included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection once it is released on November 11th in North America.
Fans of the series really must check out this launch trailer, as it focuses primarily on the enhanced cinematics that are featured in Halo 2 Anniversary and to say they are outstanding would be a massive understatement as some parts of this trailer look incredibly realistic. That being said, for those who may have missed out on Halo 2 when it was released years ago, beware of some minor spoilers.
Bethesda has announced that BattleCrybeta tests will open up to Australian and New Zealand gamers, exclusively, starting in early 2015. Rich Vogel, president and executive producer at BattleCry Studios, stated;
It will be extremely exciting to see people from Australia and New Zealand jump in and play the game when beta begins in 2015. Everyone at the studio is looking forward to working with players in these two countries as we begin testing the game. They are paving the way for the rest of the world and will have a hand in helping us shape the future of BattleCry.

If you were looking forward to Dying Light but didn’t want to take a step into the latest generation of consoles then we have some bad news for you. Today Techland has announcedthat they have cancelled the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. The reason for these last-gen cancellations are due to the older consoles not being able to run the title properly and stay true to the experience Techland wants to deliver.
“Much of this ‘next-gen feel’ is tightly connected to the technological side of Dying Light. For instance, up to 200,000 objects can be displayed in the game at once. Add to this our use of realistic, physics-based lighting technology and you really start to push the next-gen systems to the limits.
Features like these along with our core gameplay pillars – such as the player-empowering Natural Movement, threefold character development system, and vast open world – are all an inherent part of how Dying Light plays. However, combining all of these into one fluid experience is only possible on technologically advanced platforms.”
As such Dying Light will now be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on January 27th in North America and January 30th in Europe.
As JRPG fans should already know, Bandai Namco is planning on releasing Tales of Hearts R in North America on November 11th and in Europe on November 14th and since these release dates are less than two weeks away at this point, the company has chosen to release a new English subtitled trailer for the game.
This latest trailer happens to focus on one of the anime cutscenes that will be in the game and you can check it out below. As we have previously reported, those who pre-order Tales of Hearts R in both North America and Europe will be given special character costumes once the game is released.
Those who picked up Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will be happy to hear that XSEED has released the latest batch of DLC for the game earlier this week and while this includes a few new costumes to dress up the girls, it also allows players to download two new playable fighters. For $3.99 each, players can purchase Rin or Daidōji with each of these characters coming with their own storyline.
If you wish to purchase both characters you can do so at a slightly cheaper price of $5.99. It is worth noting that all DLC, including Rin and Daidōji, will carry over to Senran Kagura: Bon Apetit. Also worth noting is that there are a couple of pieces of free DLC currently available, including a hair style set and a set of Halloween themed underwear.
