A long way from home: Stranded – MarsONE out now for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Hamburg, Germany – September 16th, 2015
– Today, German publisher Deep Silver FISHLABS and Spanish developers Tama Games and Mutant Games released their first joint project, a skill-based free-2-play game called Stranded – MarsONE, on the App Store. Despite its cute look and cuddly presentation, the charming-but-challenging pixel fest does not primarily cater towards a casual-gaming audience. Instead, it is located in the mid- to hardcore segment and tailored to committed skill gamers.

Set on Mars, the game centers around a little astronaut’s efforts to find a way back home after his space ship crash-landed on the red planet. However, before he can communicate his whereabouts to a rescue crew, he first has to brave his way through 40 dodgy levels spanning across five differing terrains.

Stranded – MarsONE keeps its players hooked with an addictive core gameplay loop, effective one-touch controls, clever level designs and an asynchronous multiplayer mode. In terms of presentation, the title wears its retro colors with pride and delights its players with carefully crafted pixel graphics, well-orchestrated sound design and delightfully staged cut scenes. For a first-hand impression of the game, check out the official trailer on YouTube via http://bit.ly/stranded-trailer.

Features:

  • Unique arcade gameplay combining elements of auto-runners & 2D platformers
    • Charming pixel graphics with delightful retro appeal
    • 40 cleverly designed levels spanning across 5 different terrains
    • Lots of power-ups & customization options
    • Async multiplayer including ghost races & Facebook friend challenges
    • Star-based performance ratings
    • Game Center achievements
    • Spot-on touch controls

Stranded – MarsONE requires iOS 6 (or higher) and runs on iPhone 4 (and above), iPad 2 (and above) and iPod touch 5G. While iOS gamers can already download the game from the App Store via http://bit.ly/stranded-ios-en for free, Android users will still have to wait a bit. The release of Stranded – MarsONE on Google Play is planned for the near future and will be communicated in a follow-up press release.

During their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference last night Sony announced a number of things, including a long awaited sequel to Gravity Rush, that they will be dropping the price of the PlayStation 4 in Japan from the previous price of 39,980 yen to 34,980 yen. This price drop will go into effect starting on October 1st.

It is worth noting that the price of the PlayStation 4 in many areas, such as the United States, roughly mirrors the base price of the PlayStation 4 at $399 before, meaning that if this price drop is applied to other regions then the console will drop to $349. That being said, Sony has not yet announced this price drop for any other regions outside of Japan.

Late last month Koei Tecmo announced that they were working on an Attack on Titan video game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita and after the way the first game released for the series turned out, fans were skeptical especially since the team best known for working on the Warriors titles would be handling the development of the title.

Thankfully it seems that fans can breath a little easier as Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer for the game for Tokyo Game Show and in it we see a few snippets of gameplay where it appears that players will be able to make full use of the series’ well-known 3D Maneuver Gear to aim for a Titan’s weak points. Currently the game still has the working title of Attack on Titan but it is known that the game will be released in Japan sometime this Winter and in the West next year.

Although we have heard about some new characters being added and even have gotten a Japanese release date for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition, Sega has been rather stingy when it came to showing off how the enhanced release will look.

Well that changed earlier today when the company released the debut trailer for the title where a number of the new characters, such as Emi Yusa from The Devil is a Part-Timer, make an appearance and show off their moves. You can check out the trailer below, though it is worth noting that for the moment, this version has not been confirmed for release in the West, only the original version Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax has been set for release in a few weeks.
