Ni-Oh Revived as a PlayStation 4 Exclusive for 2016 Release

Remember Ni-Oh? Well you probably don’t since it was originally announced for the PlayStation 3 all the way back in 2005 only to never actually be released.

Well it looks like it will be coming back in a big way as Koei Tecmo took to the stage tonight at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference to not only announce the release of Toukiden 2 but also to reveal that Ni-Oh has been revived as a PlayStation 4 exclusive that will be released sometime in 2016. Despite being in the works for over a decade, the company provided very few details on the title, only saying that it would be incredibly difficult to clear in one try and released the below announcement video.

Toukiden 2 Revealed as an Open World Game, Set for 2016 Release

During Sony’s Press Conference for Tokyo Game Show members from Koei Tecmo took to the stage to announce that after releasing an enhanced version of Toukiden earlier this year, that they have begun development on a real sequel that is, for the moment, simply being called Toukiden 2.

Little information for Toukiden 2 is currently known other than that this release will differ from the original pair of releases by featuring an open world instead of multi-room stages. That being said, you can still check out the reveal trailer below where a relatively familiar looking enemy is eliminated by a never before seen character.

One Piece: Burning Blood Revealed for PS4 and PS Vita

Bandai Namco took to the stage at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference and announced that they are working on a new One Piece game and it happens to be called One Piece: Burning Blood. Unlike past titles, this game is being developed by Spike Chunsoft and focuses primarily on the Devil Fruit abilities that various characters are capable of using.

One Piece: Burning Blood has been announced for release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita but other than that we have no release window or additional details though more are likely to be revealed later this week and confirmed for the next issue of Shonen Jump.

Yakuza: Kiwami and Yakuza 6 Announced for 2016 Release in Japan

Remember how Sega was hinting at a Yakuza announcement today? Well they delivered two announcements and fans of the series will likely be happy to hear that they have two games on the way. First and foremost Sega announced during Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference that they are remaking the original Yakuza as Yakuza: Kiwami and are planning on releasing it for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on January 21st in Japan where a demo for their other announced game will be included.

That other game happens to be Yakuza 6 and that title is going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive that will be released in Japan sometime in fall 2016.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate ‘Jack the Ripper’ DLC Announced

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate may not have been released yet but considering the title is set in Victorian London there is no way that Ubisoft could resist announcing some DLC early for the game by focusing entirely on one of England’s greatest unsolved mysteries.

Ubisoft has announced at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show that some DLC will add content to the game that relates to Jack the Ripper will be released sometime after the game is released. Currently no details for what this Jack the Ripper DLC will contain were revealed, but it does state that it will be included in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s season pass.

King of Fighters XIV Announced for 2016 Release on PS4

If you thought that SNK had vanished from the console gaming world and that King of Fighters would die because of this, well it seems that we have some news for you. During Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference it was announced that King of Fighters XIV is in the works for the PlayStation 4 and will be released in Japan on January 21, 2016.

There are currently very few details about what fans can expect of King of Fighters XIV but the reveal trailer, which we will update with when an official one is released, does show that the title now features 3D character models.

Big Actors Reprise their Roles for Lego Dimensions

A few months back, Warner Bros. gave a pretty exciting announcement; the current cast of Doctor Who would be reprising their roles for the upcoming toys to life game; Lego Dimensions. Well now we have further word that even more illustrious film and television alumni will be joining the fray.

As if that wasn’t enough, the cast members of The Simpsons are back to voice their characters, and Gary Oldman plays the game’s villain! With such a renowned cast, I think it would be fair to say that the game’s voicework will be pretty spectacular. The Ninja Slayer manga is supposedly based on light novels written by Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez. It was originally posted on Twitter by Honda Yu and Sugi Reika, the Japanese ‘translators’. In reality, ‘Bradley Bond’ and ‘Philip Ninj@ Morzez’ do not exist and are most likely an attempt to create a backstory to the series’ creation to add to the appeal of it. Enterbrain began publishing the manga in print in Japan in September 2012.

Gravity Rush 2 and Gravity Rush Remaster Announced for PS4

During the SCEJA Press Conference 2015 Sony announced that they are bringing Gravity Rush to the PlayStation 4 in more than one way. They have announced that they are going to be releasing a Gravity Rush Remaster on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on December 10th where a collector’s edition will include a figurine of Kat.

Following that announcement Sony revealed some news that many fans of the original game have been waiting for and that news happens to be that they are also working on Gravity Rush 2 for release on the PlayStation 4 in 2016. Currently no Western release for these games have been announced but we can expect some more news to be revealed over the next few days.

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Expansion Release Date Announced

A few moments ago during SCEJA Press Conference 2015 Sony has announced some news that Bloodborne fans have been eagerly awaiting. The company announced that Bloodborne: The Old Hunters will be released on November 24th and is being described as a full-scale expansion for the game.

It is worth noting that while the digital release will be available on November 24th Bloodborne: The Old Hunters plus the base game will be released on December 3rd in one package. Currently very few details about what will actually be included in this expansion have been revealed but we can likely expect to hear some full details in the coming days.
