far-cry-primal-screenshot-001

Ubisoft released a new trailer and a behind the scenes video for Far Cry Primal today. The trailer entitled “King of the Stone Age” gives viewers a look at the beautiful yet dangerous world of Oros and the game’s three tribes. Led by the player, the Wenja tribe are under siege by the cannibals of the Udam tribe and the fire worshipers of the Izila tribe. Our hero Takkar must rally his people to fight off the Udam and the Izila tribes and ensure the survival of the Wenja.

The second video is a behind the scenes look at the development of the characters and language of Far Cry Primal. Ubisoft turned to professors of the University of Kentucky to create languages based on proto-european languages for each of the three tribes. The entire game is in these languages with appropriate subtitles.

Far Cry Primal launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23rd and on Windows on March 1st.

Players can now gain access to the Ghostbusters themed Level Pack, while you comic book afficionados out there can finally play as The Joker and Harley Quinn and cause some real chaos.

We have a brief trailer for the new additions which you can check out below.

ANNO 2205: free DLC Wildwater Bay now available

ANNO 2205: free DLC Wildwater Bay now available

EXPAND YOUR CORPORATION ONTO THE BIGGEST TEMPERATE EARTH SESSION AND SOLVE THE RIDDLE OF THE ABANDONED UNDERWATER CITIES

London, UK– January 20, 2016 – Today, Blue Byte® and Ubisoft® announced the release of the first Anno 2205TM DLC, “Wildwater Bay,” a new Temperate Earth session which is free for everyone who owns the game. The new session comes with the latest Anno 2205 patch and offers new content and optimisations.

In Wildwater Bay, players can expand their corporation onto a large continental area with several islands at its shore, resulting in the biggest session of Anno 2205 so far with a size of roughly 100,000 acres. The monumental size will help players in acquiring additional costal and mountain slots. The new sector quest focuses on the mystery of the abandoned underwater cities from the previous Anno title, so veteran players will be able to meet relics from the past.

In addition to the Wildwater Bay session, three new ornaments have been added, as well as a new ability to the Corporation HQ, which can now increase the overall public building supply capacity of all types. Players will also profit from a clearer World Market interface and the special “Big 5” events.

Wildwater Bay is the first free DLC for Anno 2205 to be released in 2016 with further free DLCs planned. The next big update will be the “Tundra” expansion, coming at the end of February, which is part of the season pass and will also be able to purchase separately.

Anno 2205 is in development at Blue Byte, a Ubisoft studio, and was released worldwide on PC on November 3 2015. For the latest information on Anno 2205, please visit: http://annogame.com/

Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow will not see Restore Points in 3DS Ports

farfetchd-01

Well, this is news. After Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow were announced for re-release through the eShop, many of us had a ton of questions. One that frequented many conversations regarded restore points, which lets players save their game at anytime, continuing off in their game from any point desired without officially saving.

It is now official that the three games will not use this feature – or even allow for 3DS button shortcuts (such as HOME) whatsoever. This is probably to ensure players actually play fairly and don’t hamper the original experience, but since there wasn’t any shiny Pokemon in these games, I would say it doesn’t matter in the slightest. These titles come out late next month, so take this info for what it is worth and enjoy!

Microsoft announced two new products that will help people learn. The wildly popular sandbox game Minecraft has been used in classrooms to teach skills to students using a game they are already playing the game at home. One teacher in the US taught her third grade class about trading economies and non-renewable resources during a Minecraft based project. To bring Minecraft-based education to more schools, Microsoft and Mojang will be releasing Minecraft: Education Edition and a community site to go along with it that will provide teachers with lesson plans and mentoring. The program is being spearheaded by a board of educators and will launch sometime between June to August 2016.

Microsoft has also released a new add-on for OneNote designed for people with learning disabilities. The new plugin features a focus mode to help students stay on task and better decode text. Additionally, extra tools help break works into syllables, identify parts of sentences, and read the text out loud. The add-on is currently in beta testing and can be found at the Learning Tools for OneNote page.
