New Battlefield Teased with Small Clip

battlefield-3-aftermath-001

In case you missed it, EA and DICE are planning on revealing the new Battlefield game tomorrow on May 6 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. BST and they are calling it the first look at “the future of Battlefield.” As such it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that they are also choosing to hype up their player base with a little extra teasing.

That teasing comes in the form of a tiny four second clip through the Battlefield Twitter account. Obviously, as you’ll see below, pretty much nothing is shown in the little clip but it does serve to keep people talking about tomorrow’s premiere.

CIVIL WAR BREAKS LOOSE ON CAMPUS IN MARVEL AVENGERS ACADEMY

CIVIL WAR BREAKS LOOSE ON CAMPUS IN MARVEL AVENGERS ACADEMY

Captain America and Iron Man Choose Teams in Brand New Update for TinyCo’s

Smash Hit Mobile Game

(San Francisco, Calif. & Los Angeles, Calif.) May 5, 2016Coinciding with the upcoming theatrical release of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, in theaters May 6, TinyCo and Marvel have announced a brand new limited time in-game event for their highly successful MARVEL Avengers Academy mobile game, rolling out fresh new “Civil War” in-game content available now. MARVEL Avengers Academy is available to download for free on the App Store® and Google Play™.

Following MARVEL Avengers Academy’s Guardians of the Galaxy update last month, the Avengers Academy finds itself in a vulnerable state as the threat of incoming enemies heightens the need for campus safety. Captain America and Iron Man take leadership as the two opposing pillars with vastly different opinions on how to best defend the Avengers Academy, albeit this isn’t merely a campus election at stake – lives are on the line!

Captain America, ever responsible and traditional in his methods, is determined to set up a training facility in order to better train the students. Meanwhile, Iron Man, the self-proclaimed genius with a supply of everlasting ego and charm, believes in building an army of robots to protect Avengers Academy.

These two very different takes on solving the same dilemma force students to choose teams: Captain America vs Iron Man. Lines will be divided between former friends as teams are recruited. Each week, players will unlock a new piece of the Civil War story and different quests and prizes will be available depending on the Super Hero players choose. Foes who were once friends will battle it out in combat and in school-wide activities, such as arm-wrestling, aimed to test students at their very best skills. Who will receive a passing score and be most prepared when Hydra and their band of misfit Super Villains pay a menacing visit on-campus all leading up to one final showdown?

New students enrolling in this brand new update for MARVEL Avengers Academy include Captain America’s long-lost friend, Bucky Barnes, aka the dangerous Winter Soldier, who isn’t quite looking to fondly reminisce about the old times. This update also sees the long-awaited introduction of Black Panther, donning a slick outfit, incredible moves, and a mysterious agenda that may just change the Academy forever.

School will officially be out of session if Hydra takes over and it’s up to the players to save it!

MARVEL Avengers Academy is available to download for free on the App Store® and Google Play™. For more information on TinyCo, please visit: http://www.tinyco.com. Visit MARVEL Avengers Academy’s Facebook.com/AvengersAcademy page or follow them @AvengersAcademy on Twitter.

TAKE CONTROL OF A VERY HUNGRY SHARK® IN THIS ACTION-PACKED AQUATIC ADVENTURE

HUNGRY SHARK WORLD LAUNCH TRAILER: YOUTUBE LINK

London, UK– May 5, 2016 – Today, Ubisoft® announced that Hungry Shark World, the 6th installment in the successful Hungry Shark franchise developed by Future Games of London®, is now available on the App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon Store.

Following the success of Hungry Shark Evolution, this new installment gives players the hungriest experience yet by introducing three all new immersive locations, from the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Islands to the icy depths of the Arctic Ocean and chaotic Arabian Sea. Each level comes with a wide array of prey and enemies to devour that are unique to each environment.

The game features 17 different shark species to upgrade, each with its own characteristics and personality. Players will progress each shark through seven ranks by completing missions and earning gold coins to level up their shark. Each rank of shark offers unlockable special abilities like destroying walls, eating bigger or stronger prey, accumulating higher combo bonuses and acquiring pets to help chomp through even more prey.

Hungry Shark World expands on the previous game with new mechanics, such as Mega Rush—the more destructive, older brother of the beloved Gold Rush—which gives players a competitive edge and pushes them to drive their scores even higher. The new instalment also introduces Super Shoals, large groups of fish that allow your shark to eat more than 100 prey in one gulp. Release your inner scavenger hunter by collecting all the HUNGRY letters to boost your shark up to Super-Size mode and be the number one Hungry Shark by taking part in the level, global and Facebook leaderboards.

Built using the Unity 3D mobile game engine, Hungry Shark World boasts striking 3D models, lighting and beautifully rich environments. Each in-game model has been meticulously constructed and animated for accurate design and movement.

In news that may surprise some, primarily because they would have likely thought that the company had already acquired the license back when it aired at the end of 2014, Sentai Filmworks has announced that they have acquired the license for Chaika the Coffin Princess: Avenging Battle.

This is the second season for the Chaika anime adaptation and the company has already released the first season of the anime with an English dub a few months ago. They have provided the below story summary:

Chaika, Toru, Akari, and Fredrica’s adventures continue as they plot to secure the emperor’s heart from the Hero Claudia. However, when another of the emperor’s dark secrets come to light, Chaika struggles to come to terms with her identity and her purpose. What better way to celebrate a day that many consider Star Wars day than to announce a brand new game for the franchise. Electronic Arts has announced that Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has begun working on a brand new third-person action adventure game that will be set in the Star Wars universe.

No additional details such as planned platforms or release window for the game were revealed other than that the team working on the new Star Wars game is being led by Stig Asmussen, who last directed God of War III while at Sony Interactive Entertainment Santa Monica Studio.

Dragonball Evolution Screenwriter Apologises to Fans

dragon-ball-evolution-01

I just noticed even the title of this movie is wrong, Dragon Ball is two separate words! While it may be seven years too late, writer Ben Ramsey has issued an apology to fans of the series, admitting he “dropped the Dragon Ball” on Dragonball Evolution, the popular anime series only live action adaptation which is loathed by fans for its many inaccuracies and for being a very poor movie in general (currently sitting at 14% on Rotten Tomatoes).

Even the original series creator Akira Toriyama has lashed out at the movie in a few interviews. Funnily enough the movie could be seen as a blessing disguise as it very well may have inspired Toriyama to come back to his creation and make sure no one else was messing it up.

ben-ramsey-headshot-01

The full written apology, which was written in response to someone looking for an interview with Ramsey for a Dragon Ball fandom book, is available below.

I knew that it would eventually come down to this one day. Dragonball Evolution marked a very painful creative point in my life. To have something with my name on it as the writer be so globally reviled is gut wrenching. To receive hate mail from all over the world is heartbreaking. I spent so many years trying to deflect the blame, but at the end of the day it all comes down to the written word on page and I take full responsibility for what was such a disappointment to so many fans. I did the best I could, but at the end of the day, I ‘dropped the dragon ball.’

I went into the project chasing after a big payday, not as a fan of the franchise but as a businessman taking on an assignment. I have learned that when you go into a creative endeavor without passion you come out with sub-optimal results, and sometimes flat out garbage. So I’m not blaming anyone for Dragonball but myself. As a fanboy of other series, I know what it’s like to have something you love and anticipate be so disappointing.

To all the Dragon Ball fans out there, I sincerely apologize.

I hope I can make it up to you by creating something really cool and entertaining that you will like and that is also something I am passionate about. That’s the only work I do now.

Best,

Ben

Ramsey has not penned a screenplay since the critically panned film. The apology may have come a little late and I’m sure most fans were over the movie by now anyway, but it’s nice of Ramsey to admit he messed up with the franchise and had the motivation of dollars rather than passion here… even if he does try to defend himself still by saying he did the best he could which I strongly doubt.
