Stranger of Sword City’s PS Vita Launch Trailer Released

stranger-of-sword-city-screenshot-013

PS Vita owners have had to wait a bit longer than their Xbox One counterparts but today they can now access Experience’s Stranger of Sword City. NIS America has released the PS Vita version of the game in North America and in order to entice players into picking up the dungeon crawling game the company has released a launch trailer that shows off many of the game’s NPCs, the Vessels for the world’s gods Marilith and Alm, and more.

Those who are looking forward to playing Stranger of Sword City on PC still have to wait a bit longer as that version of the game is still set to be released sometime in June.

NIS America No Longer Publishing Atlus Games in Europe

Persona-Q-Shadow-Of-The-Labyrinth-Screenshot-01

For a while now fans of Atlus games in Europe have been able to enjoy a near simultaneous release schedule with their North American counterparts but it seems that is going to be coming to an end. NIS America‘s MD Takuro Yamashita has spoken with MCV and he has stated that the company has “terminated our alliance with Atlus in Europe and the US.”

The reason stated appears to be Atlus’ merger with Sega as he goes on to state that “Atlus became very picky about selecting the European publishing partner after it was bought by Sega. It always cherry picked its EU publishing partner based on who offered the highest minimum guarantee on a title by title basis. I noticed that it was very difficult for NIS America to establish an equal-partnership with Atlus.”

Whether this means that fans of Atlus games will need to wait for over a year for English releases of games in their region, like Shin Megami Tensei IV, is currently unknown.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky Announced for North American Release

Today Aksys Games has announced that they are planning on bringing tri-Ace‘s Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky over to North America where they plan on releasing it on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on October 18th. The game will be available both physically and digitally and will offer players both English and Japanese audio tracks. As for the European release, Aksys Games is currently working on it but they have yet to announce any solid release date for that region.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky is a “side-view” RPG that has players die at the beginning of the game in a massive explosion and wake up in a strange realm. Now players are one of twelve people who are now immortal vessels for an evil god named Yamatoga’s soul. As such, the palyer and their new allies end up coming into conflict between ancient gods.

Persona 5’s May 5th Countdown to be a Stream

persona-5-artwork-005

Last week we learned that Atlus had launched a brand new countdown for Persona 5 and while that timer is still ticking away for an eventual May 5th reveal of… something, the company has went ahead and revealed that it is a countdown that is leading to a Nicovideo stream that will be held on that date.

Obviously this isn’t the news that Persona 5 have been anxiously waiting for but considering the company is going to be holding a video stream and have decided to launch a countdown that is still over a week ahead of the actual premiere, perhaps the video stream might finally contain the release date that everyone’s been waiting for.

NINTENDO PROVIDES UPDATES ON MOBILE, NX AND THE LEGEND OF ZELDA ALONG WITH ANNUAL EARNINGS

NINTENDO PROVIDES UPDATES ON MOBILE, NX AND THE LEGEND OF ZELDA ALONG WITH ANNUAL EARNINGS

Mobile app Miitomo crosses 10 million users worldwide; next apps will be games in the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing series
27th April, 2016 – Nintendo announced a variety of updates during the earnings announcement for its full fiscal year, ended March 31. These updates included the first information about Nintendo’s next video game system, code-named NX.

“As we report the results of the last fiscal year, we also look forward to an exciting period ahead with further growth in our mobile business, new products for our dedicated video game systems and continued progress in our efforts to increase the number of consumers experiencing our IP through games, licensing and expanded entertainment,” said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima.

For a complete overview of Nintendo’s financial announcements, as well as changes to Nintendo’s governance system, please visit Nintendo’s Investor Relations website at https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en. Announcement highlights include:

  • Miitomo: Nintendo’s first app for smartphones and tablets has already crossed 10 million unique users worldwide. The free-to-start social experience app launched in Japan on March 17 and in a variety of other countries, including Australia and New Zealand, on March 31. Nintendo has, to date, sparked more than 300 million conversations in Miitomo, and in addition, users can insert their Mii characters into photos to create unique “Miifotos” that can be shared through various social media. As of now, more than 20 million Miifotos have been created. To celebrate Miitomo reaching 10 million users, Nintendo will run a special 10-day “Celebrating 10 Million Users!” promotion between April 29 and May 8.
  • Nintendo’s Next Mobile Apps: Building on the positive consumer reaction to Miitomo, Nintendo announced that its next two mobile apps would be based on the familiar and beloved Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. Nintendo plans to release both of these applications this spring. As for the former app, while making it more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems, Nintendo aims to offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game. Nintendo will design the latter game so that it will be connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems. By playing both Animal Crossing games, users will find increased enjoyment. Both of these are pure game applications. Compared to Miitomo, they have more prominent game elements, and the game content will tie closely into Nintendo’s dedicated games business. Nintendo will provide more details about these applications closer to their launch period, and aims to have multiple types of apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players.
  • NX: Nintendo previously announced that it would release more information about its next system, code-named NX, this year. As the first announcement of any NX information, Nintendo confirmed that NX is scheduled to launch in March 2017. NX will not make an appearance at the upcoming E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles in June and will be unveiled later this year.
  • The Legend of Zelda: The latest instalment in this classic series is scheduled to launch simultaneously for both Wii U and NX, and both versions of the game have been in development in tandem. Because developers need more time to polish the game, it will launch in 2017, but it will be the focus of Nintendo’s presence at E3.
  • E3: Nintendo changes its approach to the show every year. This June, Nintendo will focus its attentions on the upcoming game in The Legend of Zelda series. The Wii U version of the game will be playable for the first time on the E3 show floor, and it will be the only playable game Nintendo presents at the show, in order to provide attendees a complete immersion. Additional information about Nintendo’s E3 plans will be announced in the future.

Also, in celebration of the launch, everyone who logs in to Hearthstone will receive three Whispers of the Old Gods card packs free (for a limited time).
