Ino-Co’s Crazy Killer Launches on Steam Early Access

crazy-killer-promo-art-001

Developed by Ino-Co Plus, the second title from Gaijin Entertainment’s inCubator program has launched on Steam Early Access. Built on Unreal Engine 4, Crazy Killer is a third person shooter based on the classic party game Mafia. At the beginning of each round, players are randomly assigned the role of killer, sheriff, doctor, and civilian with a specific goal. Every player has special skills and tools that can assist them in completing their objective, but it can also make them a bigger target.

“The Early Access launch of Crazy Killer is second of many titles we are fostering, from development through launch, in our Gaijin inCubator,” said Anton Yudintsev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment. “Crazy Killer is based on a very popular party game that mixes action with a whodunit spin in a solid multiplayer and cooperative format.”

The game’s beta is out now on Steam as a free to play title for Windows. The plan is to support the game in the future with micro-transactions, but the store is not expected to be implemented for at least another month.

As April wraps up, Microsoft has announced May’s Games with Gold titles. This month’s titles are mostly indie games, both new and old. Defense Grid 2 on Xbox One will be free for the entire month of May. Costume Quest 2 for Xbox One will be free from May 16-June 15. Xbox 360 owners will be able to pick up GRID 2 from May 1-15 and then Peggle from May 16-31. Both games are compatible with Xbox One through the backward compatibility program, so Xbox One owners should grab a copy too!

As usual, these free games will only be available for Xbox Owners with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

New Nintendo Console ‘NX’ to Launch Alongside Zelda

Most big Nintendo news comes in the form of a Nintendo Direct however this time a low key financial meeting was the source of some huge information including a release window for the mysterious Nintendo NX console, a delay to Zelda Wii U as well as a NX version and news on two future mobile titles.

The Nintendo NX console will launch in March 2017. This seems to be a  global release date, with Nintendo Australia, US and Europe all reporting the March 2017 release window. Nintendo ruled out any unveil of the console at this year’s E3 event, but have promised to unveil it before the year is out.zelda-wii-u-promo-art

Zelda Wii U has been delayed (again, as expected) to simply a 2017 release date. It was also revealed that a Nintendo NX version has been in development in secret alongside the Wii U version. Both will launch on the same day but wheter that launch will coincide with the March 2017 release date is still unknown.

In slightly better news, Nintendo unveiled Zelda Wii U will be playable at this year’s E3 but that’s where the good news ends. Zelda Wii U will be the ONLY title Nintendo has playable at the event, which to me indicates major doubts in Nintendo’s Wii U strategy as the console approaches the end of it’s short life span. The company mentions further E3 plans will be announced in the future so hopefully they can think of something other than Zelda.

While the Wii U could easily be labelled a failure in terms of install base, Nintendo’s foray into the mobile market has taken a strong start. Miitomo is now 10 million users strong and the next two smartphone game projects have been announced. As promised, they are focusing on two of Nintendo’s largest franchises, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing and both are planned to release before the end of June and are labelled as ‘pure game applications’.

Details are slim, however it was revealed Nintendo want to make the mobile Fire Emblem more accessible while still offering a great value RPG. As for Animal Crossing, the game aims to be connected to the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems. It isn’t clear whether this means playing one game will reward you in another game or if they will just share the same character and locations, but I think Animal Crossing is easily one of the games best suited to the mobile platform.

Street Fighter V’s Guile Arrives on April 28th

Street-Fighter-V-guile-screenshot- (1)

Capcom has announced that they are “planning” on releasing Guile onto Street Fighter V on April 28th by 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET. Considering the company decided to use the word planning, there is probably some chance that he may not end up being available at that time but for now fans can look forward to Guile being added to the roster in a little over twenty-four hours.

Capcom did not state during this reveal if the full April update that will be adding punishments for rage-quitters and other fixes would be added to Street Fighter V at the same time as Guile.

Crazy Killer Stalks Steam Early Access Today

2nd Title To Come Out Of Gaijin Entertainment’s inCubator

(MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION) – April 27, 2016 – Russian indie developer Ino-Co, creators of Fantasy Wars, Majesty 2 and Warlock: Master of the Arcane strategy series today announced that their latest title, Crazy Killer, has entered STEAM Early Access. Created with the help of Gaijin Entertainment’s inCubator indie developers support fund, Crazy Killer takes its inspiration from the popular party game, Mafia, or “Werewolf”.

Developed using Unreal Engine 4, Crazy Killer is a tense ‘whodunnit’ guessing game that sees the player adopt a random role in each battle: civilian, sheriff or killer. Each role has its own goal – civilians need to survive, the sheriff must find and defeat the killer, and the killer must murder all of the players before being detected.

The action in Crazy Killer takes place in the near future in a virtual show of the same name, ‘Crazy Killer.’ At the beginning of each round players are oblivious to each others’ roles in the game. To this extent, anyone can be the killer, and players must utilize various objects and skills to find and defeat the killer. If the player’s character has the ability to read minds, then he or she can easily find the killer or the sheriff; however, it might be difficult for players to convince other gamers of their authenticity (or lack thereof). Playing the role of doctor allows players to heal their teammates, but makes them an easier target, as they are certain to be the next victim once the killer finds out who they are. A variety of tools, such as the metal detector, are available to aid players but do not act as a guarantee of survival. When the metal detector squawks an alarm, players can’t be sure if the nearby weapon is wielded by the sheriff or the killer. One wrong move spells downfall and death. Additionally, different skins for players help them stay incognito for a bit longer, as no one suspects a good-natured housewife or a harmless hipster with a camera to be a killer. So players must always remain vigilant – perhaps their neighbor is not as innocent as he seems to be.

Crazy Killer features comic-book style graphics with an ever-changing “whodunit” storyline that tasks players to play a variety of roles that require different tactics to succeed. Steam users can try Crazy Killer in early access for free.

Gameforge Takes On Publishing of SoulWorker for North America and Europe

Gameforge Takes On Publishing of SoulWorker for North America and Europe

New action MMORPG promises high-energy battles in impressive Anime style, set in a post-apocalyptic background
Karlsruhe, Germany – April 27, 2016 – Gameforge announces its cooperation with South Korean development studio Lion Games and will be publishing SoulWorker in North America and Europe.

“I am pleased to finally accommodate the desires of players in North America and Europe with SoulWorker. There’s plenty in SoulWorker to excite Anime fans in particular – we can’t wait to get going with this highly anticipated game”, said Daniel Werner, Product Director for SoulWorker at Gameforge.

SoulWorker is a South Korean action MMORPG with an enthralling Anime style. The focus of the game is on high-energy battles in a third-person perspective. Using keyboard and mouse, or controller if they choose, players take on the role of a young chosen one, who has to fight against menacing forces in a post-apocalyptic world. Every character has access to a particularly special emotion, such as revenge or madness, which then define their class and their weapon. Using these feelings, the young heroes unleash special abilities that distinguish themselves as SoulWorkers, and use them skilfully in battle for class-specific attack and defence maneuvers.

Anime style never looked this authentic
Both Fans of Japanese Animes and action MMORPG lovers can look forward to a cinematic gameplay experience in SoulWorker, which makes full use of the HAVOK Vision Engine+. An extraordinary cinema visualization is created with an exciting background story, detailed cel-shading animations, cutscenes and NPC dialogues set to music, making Anime fans feel at home from the very first moment.

Fresh classes such as the ‘Howling Guitar’, which has a magical guitar for surface area attacks and healing effects as a weapon, feel familiar for the genre while escaping popular clichés as players fight against the threats coming from another dimension.

What to expect in SoulWorker

  • Enthralling Anime story based on humanity’s battle for survival – Hordes of enemies threaten the barely standing world of SoulWorker: There’s not only beasts from other dimensions, but also a private military conglomerate and other power-thirsty peoples trying to wipe out all of humanity.
  • Four classes at launch – At launch there’ll be four classes to choose from, each radiating a true Anime feel. Players can decide between the “Soulum Sword”, “Mist Scythe”, “Gun Jazz” or “Howling Guitar”. An optimized third-person camera lets the action-laden battles shine and serves to highlight the beauty of the real-time effects.
  • Large PvE content with adventurous dungeons – Over 100 PvE dungeons with episodic final bosses are split across different difficulty levels. In doing so, the initial instances tell the story behind SoulWorker, whilst adventures in regions with a higher level or daily challenges offer opportunities for big rewards.
  • A PvP Zone for mass battles on an open battlefield – “District 6” is a dangerous PvP area where players can go head to head that borders on the PvE zones. Mad monsters and a gigantic boss in the centre of the zone only serve to increase the thrill.
  • Crafting, guilds, housing and plenty more – There is a wealth of items to be crafted using blueprints. Players can also form a group or guild and fight to earn their own lands. Once acquired, their own four walls can then be made to feel like home with a selection of furniture pieces. A user-friendly marketplace also offers a chance to trade for armor, weapons and also special cards that offer strengthening magic.

HEX: Shards of Fate Unleashes Fourth Set – Primal Dawn!

HEX: Shards of Fate Unleashes Fourth Set – Primal Dawn!

325 new cards | 105 additional items | 7 special sleeves | 6 extra heroes | New tournament format | ‘Empower’ ability
Karlsruhe, Germany — April 27, 2016 – Gameforge and HEX Entertainment are today releasing ‘Primal Dawn’, the fourth set for the trading card game HEX: Shards of Fate. This latest expansion to the TCG places the emphasis once more on competitive gaming, following the huge campaign release at the start of 2016. Future updates to HEX, which is now also available for free on Steam, will alternate regularly between PvE and PvP contents.

More Accessible PvP Tournaments
Players taking part in the new progressive gauntlet PvP mode “Evolving Sealed Gauntlet” get to put their decks together from a pool of common and uncommon cards plus booster packs. The special thing about this tournament form is that after the first and third victories, players receive an extra booster pack to expand their existing decks.

More Cards for the Kingdom

Primal Dawn introduces 325 new cards to the fascinating world of HEX. Eighteen legendary cards, such as the Angel of Agony, Bloombringer or Xentoth’s Malice, put the spotlight on multi-shard mechanics as well as constants. Constants work similar to actions, but their effects are persistent and the cards don’t wind up in the crypt once brought into play. Joining the new cards is the new card ability ‘Empower’, which unlocks new possibilities and opens up tons of great potential combinations. Activating this ability doubles all of a card’s values – including the resource costs, attack and defence stats, as well as the card text effects themselves.
Of Dwarves and Heroes
Alongside the new cards and keyword, this expansion brings six further heroes to the fold for players to choose from, allowing them to turn the tides of fate and take full advantage of the multi-shard mechanics. The dwarf mage Morgan McBombus, for example, can summon a Bumblebot directly to the playing field, whilst the coyotle cleric Raven Talon gains one health whenever a troop is played.
About HEX: Shards of Fate
HEX: Shards of Fate combines the challenging and strategic planning of a trading card game (TCG) with the rich depth of a multiplayer online role-playing game (MMO), creating a whole new genre: the MMOTCG. Thanks to the fully digital nature of HEX: Shards of Fate, entirely new game dynamics are made available to TCG fans, making the experience even more varied and strategic. In addition, HEX: Shards of Fate offers the unique elements of an MMO, such as PvE campaigns, guilds and customisable Champions. The game breaks genre-boundaries and ensures extensive and tactical entertainment.
