BUD’S GOING TO THE MOON IN ALL-NEW ACROBATIC ADVENTURE GAME GROW UP

BUD’S GOING TO THE MOON IN ALL-NEW ACROBATIC ADVENTURE GAME GROW UP

Leap, bounce and fly your way – not necessarily in that order – around a lush alien planet

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrPS5Mutoo4

SYDNEY – June 14, 2016 – Today, Ubisoft®, during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), announced Grow Up, a new acrobatic adventure game, and a follow-up of the 2015’s critically acclaimed Grow HomeTM, a title that is a community favourite and was a fan-voted winner of the first ever PlayStation Plus Vote to Play program last year. In Grow Up, players must guide little robot BUD around an entire alien world as he embarks on a dizzying mission that will see him leaping, rolling, bouncing and flying his way through a stunning and virtually boundless new open world. Grow Up will be available digitally worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 Computer Entertainment System and Windows PC in August 2016.

This new adventure comes from a small team at Reflections, a Ubisoft studio, who experimented with procedural animation in Grow Home™ and ended up creating a cute creature named BUD. In Grow Up, while out exploring the galaxy, BUD’s parental spaceship MOM falls to pieces as an unfortunate lunar accident sends her all over the place. Now her ship parts are scattered far and wide across an alien planet so rich in flora and fauna, it would make even the most jaded galactic gardener’s head spin. It’s up to BUD to collect all the parts and get them back to the moon, so he can rebuild MOM and reunite with her once again.

“We wanted to give fans of Grow Home the chance to explore a world where there is no edge, no invisible wall to hit,” said Pete Young, Producer at Reflections, a Ubisoft studio. “We can’t wait for them to join BUD in Grow Up on a fantastical new adventure to the moon.”

Working with new best friend POD, an adorable flying robot who likes planets perhaps a little too much, BUD must use his veritable tool belt of abilities to traverse the planet. Using BUD’s shiny new Floradex, players can put their own stamp on the world by cloning any of the 24 weird and wonderful plant types to catapult, shoot or float through the lush landscape filled with surprise discoveries. With all-new timed challenges, collectibles and abilities, players can tackle their mission head-on or spend time navigating the limitless landscape at their own pace.

CRASH BANDICOOT® IS BACK IN SKYLANDERS® IMAGINATORS AND IN REMASTERED CLASSICS!

CRASH BANDICOOT® IS BACK IN SKYLANDERS® IMAGINATORS AND IN REMASTERED CLASSICS!

Trio of Original Crash Bandicoot Games also to be Remastered in 2017

Starting Today, Fans can Pre-order Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack Featuring Crash Bandicoot at Select Retailers Worldwide!

SYDNEY, Australia. – June 14. 2016 – Celebrating his 20-year anniversary, Crash Bandicoot returns in 2016 as Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), features the pop-culture videogame icon as a guest star in Skylanders® Imaginators. Revealed during the Sony Interactive Entertainment America LLC., (SIEA) E3 Press Conference, Crash Bandicoot maintains his unique and quirky personality both as a fully playable Skylander Sensei character and brand new toy in Skylanders Imaginators.

At the press conference, it was also announced that Activision is bringing back Crash Bandicoot in fully remastered versions of the first three Crash games — Crash Bandicoot®; Crash Bandicoot® 2: Cortex Strikes Back; and Crash Bandicoot®: Warped for PlayStation®4 — planned for a 2017 release.

“For years, we’ve been asked when is Crash returning, and today that question has been answered. Activision is proud to celebrate the iconic character’s 20-year anniversary by bringing him back in ways that will appeal to hardcore fans as well as introduce him to a new generation of gamers,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. “We can’t wait for gamers to see Crash bring his unique style and quirky personality to the epic battle against Kaos in Skylanders Imaginators. And next year, we’ll expand on the Crash experience for players with remastered versions of three classic games.”

Activision is paying homage to the beloved ’90s videogame star in fun new ways with Skylanders Imaginators. No Crash game would be complete without the ability to jump on TNT Crates to blow them up or collect the Bazooka Crate to get a rocket launcher. From his edginess to his trademark wackiness, Crash is featured with a full move set and upgrade path based around his signature spin attack, as well as callbacks to his beloved past, including moves that incorporate exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, jetpack attack from high in the air and more.

Crash in Skylanders Imaginators will merge elements fans have come to know and love with Skylanders Imaginators’ newest class of characters: Senseis. In Skylanders Imaginators, every Sensei has a devastating Sky-Chi attack — their most powerful move. Crash’s Sky-Chi attack is the ability to use a yo-yo to yank his enemies into a spin attack!

Famed voice actor Jess Harnell reprises his role as Crash, further ensuring Skylanders Imaginators stays true to the Crash Bandicoot that fans have come to know and love. And that’s just beginning of the attention to detail in Skylanders Imaginators!

Skylanders® Imaginators empowers fans to unleash their imaginations by giving them the freedom to create their own Skylander. Portal Masters will enjoy the immense possibilities  available in the game — including appearance, powers, abilities, names, catchphrases, musical themes and much more — to create the wildest Skylanders imaginable.

With the evil Kaos on a quest to take over Skylands using an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, it’s up to Portal Masters everywhere to use the power of imagination to create their own Skylanders – known as Imaginators – in order to defeat Kaos.  Fighting alongside the Imaginators are the Senseis, powerful mystic warriors who are masters of ancient battle techniques.

In Skylanders Imaginators, a wormhole has opened in Skylands and the great Aku Aku appears!  He comes to announce the once in two decades Synchronization Celebration. It is the time when all of the worlds align perfectly.  They are having a huge celebration event in the Wumpa Islands and want to invite the Skylanders.  But with Kaos on a quest to take over Skylands using his army of Doomlanders, the Skylanders must focus on stopping his evil plans.  Never one to shy away from danger, the legendary marsupial Crash Bandicoot travels through the wormhole to join the Skylanders in the ultimate battle against Kaos!

Developed by Toys For Bob, Skylanders Imaginators supports all 300+ Skylanders from previous games and will launch on October 13, 2016 in Australia and New Zealand. The Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack Featuring Crash Bandicoot will be available exclusively for PlayStation® 4 and PlayStation® 3 at launch. The Crash toy will be playable across platforms.

The Skylanders Imaginators Crash edition includes Crash Bandicoot as a playable toy, standard Starter Pack characters, a Creation Crystal, Portal of Power®, the full AAA game and more.

About the Skylanders® Franchise

The award-winning, $3 billion Skylanders® franchise has sold through more than 250 million toys1 since pioneering the toys-to-life category in 2011 with the debut of Skylanders® Spyro’s Adventure. The game originated a play pattern that seamlessly bridged physical and virtual worlds across multiple platforms. In 2012, Skylanders® Giants further evolved the genre and added LightCore® characters to the collection of interaction figures. Skylanders® SWAP Force, which launched in 2013, introduced an all new play pattern – swapability. In 2014, Skylanders® Trap Team reversed the magic of bringing toys to life by allowing players to pull characters out of the digital world into the physical world and became the number 1 kids’ console game globally1. Skylanders® SuperChargers launched on September 20, 2015 and expanded upon the franchise’s signature gameplay to introduce vehicles-to-life for the first time.

Sony E3 2016 Conference Recap and Impressions

playstation-logo-01

Hi guys, welcome to our semi live coverage of Sony’s 2016 E3 press conference! Get hyped as we cover every bit of important news from the conference in one convenient location. If you have a spare hour and a half, feel free to watch the whole video of the conference which is embedded below (skip to half an hour in to get to the conference). Let’s get started!

Well this is new. An orchestral opening to a press conference. I’m getting a God of War vibe. People are commenting it’s an Xbox funeral song haha. I didn’t mind the Xbox press conference at all actually, one of their best in years. Anyway this song is still going but it’s pretty epic, there is a full orchestra performing this grandiose song.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-03

Yep, God of War. Norse Kratos and his son. We have some live gameplay of him following his son on a hunt. Damn Kratos is a tough parent. The pair have been ambushed so Kratos lays the smack down. A boss giant troll has appeared and Kratos dodges him gracefully while attacking with his son help. Epic visuals and set pieces as you would expect. Beautiful music plays as the kid puts down the deer he has been hunting with Kratos’ help. This might be a more ‘human’ God of War experience, although with dragons. Simply titled God of War for now. No release date.

A small tribute paying respects to the victims of the Orlando shooting. Bit of an awkward segway but we’re back to the game announcements.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-10

A game from Bend Studio set in a post apocalyptic world. A new game titled Days Gone. Definitely a lot more grounded than God of War. Looks very interesting. No release date.

Sony-Press-Conference-e3-2016-screenshots-29

Another new trailer. This time for a game we know about. The Last Guardian. Surely this thing is coming out soon right? A bit of new footage showing there is more than one beast monster but it may not be friendly. OMG a release date! October 25, 2016.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-05

Some new gameplay footage of Horizon: Zero Dawn, looks fantastic and set in a big open world. Aloy is hunting down a shell robot dinosaur. Has a weapon wheel to switch between weapons easily that slows down time a little. Tracking and taking components seems to be a big part of the game. Interesting we see a real life rabbit so some animals still exist. It seems the robot technology can be corrupted, which makes it more aggressive. In conversation Aloy will have different response options. Aloy can override some robots and then ride on them. Music is a mix of tribal and techno sounds.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-07

Looks like Detroit, the new narrative driven game from Quantic Dream. A robot negotiator has been sent to deal with a robot hostage taker. Looks like this will be a thriller about robots that can become self aware. Of course you can make our own decisions that will affect the outcome with the trailer showing multiple outcomes of a single scenario. Very different type of trailer than what was shown last E3. The game might take place across multiple characters stories. Still no release date.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-09

Getting into VR stuff now. Looks like a horror story from a first person perspective. Typical creepy stuff. It’s Resident Evil VII, subtitled Biohazard. It comes out January 24th, 2017 and is fully playable with VR. A demo is coming out later tonight. That was a surprise.

A bit of spruking here about how great PS4 is. 40 million PS4’s sold worldwide, PlayStation VR will be great, etc. October 13th, 2016 is the US release date at a $399 USD price point. 50 VR games will be available from that day until the end of the year.

Sony-Press-Conference-e3-2016-screenshots-32

VR highlight reel plays. A game set on a distant planet called Farpoint. Now Star Wars Battlefront will be getting a VR X-Wing mission exclusively for the PS4. First person space battles are going to be a trip.

The Joker is talking! A new Batman game!? Batman Arkham VR, being developed by Rocksteady coming October 2016. Exlusively for PS4. I guess you truly will become the Batman. Nothing shown gameplay wise though or at all really.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-11

New trailer for Final Fantasy XV featuring music by Afrojack. Pretty cool trailer, game still coming on 30th of September. Seems like it will be playable in VR as well where you play as Prompto, one of the 4 main boys.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-12

Looks like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare but again, modified to fit PlayStation VR. CoD has a 4th of November release date alongside Modern Warfare 4 Remastered if you pre-order of course. Outside of Batman, I’m assuming these are modes in the games that already exist and are not entirely separate games.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-14

OMG!!!! It’s music from Crash Bandicoot!!! OMG! It’s happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRASH IS BACK BABY!!!! But now how you want him yet… Crash is coming back deformed for Skylanders Imaginators which launches in October….

In brighter news, he is getting the full remastered treatment for the original trilogy but nothing was shown. Wow I can’t believe how after this many years Crash was just thrown aside like that.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-13

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens shown with a new trailer. Demo is available now on the PS Store, full game comes out in 2 weeks.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-16

Hideo Kojima takes the stage! Good to see his talents won’t go to waste. He seems to be working on a Sony exclusive. Looks like Norman Reedus (Darryl from Walking Dead) will be the main character with an accurate depiction in game, there is also a naked baby. Game seems to be about man kinds effect on nature, with an empty sea of dead animals. Death Stranding is the name of the game. The whole game might just be cleaning rocks with a toothbrush as the celebrities took all the cute animals.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-19

Insomniac games logo comes up. The new rumored Spider-Man game! Looks amazing! Looks to be a PS4 exclusive.

Sony-Press-Conference-E3-2016-screenshot-21

We got time for one more game announcement. What will close off the show? Days Gone will, but this time in live demo format. Looks like a good game, has a Last of Us vibe with more focus on action. A lot more zombies though, the amount of enemies on screen is crazy.

Well there we go guys, some great game announcements, one very big disappointment and on average a very good conference all round. Well presented with no hiccups. Game of the conference might go to Spider-Man for me, although Horizon still looks great as does Detroit. Also I just noticed this, the Vita is officially dead with absolutely nothing shown for it. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and you can watch the conference in it’s entirety below.

KIT HARINGTON TAKES VILLAINOUS TURN IN CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE

KIT HARINGTON TAKES VILLAINOUS TURN IN CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE

New Call of Duty Coming Nov. 4 Features Harington as the Face of the Enemy

Sydney, Australia – Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), announced today that Kit Harington will be featured in the upcoming Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare, scheduled for release November 4th.  The role marks a dramatic shift for the popular actor, as he portrays the face of the enemy in the new Call of Duty game in development by Infinity Ward.

“Kit is an amazing talent, and the consummate pro,” said Taylor Kurosaki, narrative director, Infinity Ward.  “Our story is about an epic showdown of opposing forces, and Kit immersed himself into the role and truly became the embodiment of the enemy, the Settlement Defense Front.  We can’t wait for fans to see Kit play an entirely different kind of character.”

To lend additional support to the production, Activision and Infinity Ward worked closely with director Guy Ritchie, who is familiar with the Call of Duty® franchise, having helmed the acclaimed live-action trailer “Surprise” for Call of Duty®: Black Ops II.

“Guy Ritchie is a friend of the franchise, so it was great to have him back to work with us, assisting in bringing Kit Harington’s character to life in Infinite Warfare,” added Dave Stohl, studio head, Infinity Ward.  “It meant a lot to us to develop the role into everything it could be. We’re excited about the performance Kit delivered and can’t wait to get it out to the public. We’re committed to delivering a compelling story with rich character depth, and this was a special opportunity to add to our fantastic cast.”

“Gathering this level of talent together for this role speaks to our studio partner’s drive to deliver a powerful narrative in Call of Duty,” said Tim Ellis, chief marketing office, Activision. “We challenge ourselves to constantly be fresh and expansive in creating gripping, immersive experiences that are exciting to play for our fans every year.”

Last year’s Call of Duty®: Black Ops III had the biggest entertainment opening weekend of 2015, and was the #1 console game globally for the calendar year.  For the seventh consecutive year, Call of Duty was the #1 video game franchise in North America.

Los Angeles, June 13, 2016 – Alienware rolls out a fierce new lineup of powerful, VR-optimized products at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles. Currently celebrating its 20th anniversary as a pioneer in specialty high-performance PC gaming systems, Alienware offers new solutions targeted at gamers looking for the best experiences in PC gaming and virtual reality.

“With the new standard of 4k gaming and the well-deserved excitement of VR, we want everyone to know we have solutions designed for them, whether it’s the largest selection of VR-capable systems or 12k gaming solutions,” said Frank Azor, General Manager of Alienware and XPS. “Energized by our partnerships and inspired by our community, the same vision that launched this company two decades ago is still driving us to deliver for gamers and VR enthusiasts, no matter how their needs evolve.”

Alienware Aurora desktop

The new Alienware Aurora is a mid-tower desktop with full-scale power and performance. Despite a smaller footprint than the previous Aurora, it boasts even more dedicated graphics and overclocking potential, including the latest generation NVIDIA GeForce cards, for 4k gaming or even up to 12k gaming as a dual-graphics capable desktop. Performance improvements also include the latest Intel CPUs, available with liquid cooling, and overclockable memory available with Kingston Fury X running at a blistering 2400 MHz. The Aurora’s innovation also includes Alienware’s first chassis with tool-less access for easy swapping of GPUs and as many as 3 of the 5 potential storage drives. These and other innovations join the solid lineup of Alienware software including custom lighting with AlienFX and total control with Alienware Command Center. Whether gaming at insanely high resolutions or experiencing optimized VR experiences, the new Aurora is the latest in a long line of leading engineering and design innovation specifically tailored for gamers.

Alienware Alpha compact desktop

The new Alpha is the perfect Windows gaming system for virtually any room, and LAN parties have never been easier with the performance and minimal set up of this accessible ultra-small form factor PC. Its compact design now comes fully upgraded with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 GPU with 4GB of GDDR5 memory for over 60% higher GPU performance than the previous generation.1 Also configurable with a new AMD Radeon graphics option, the new Alpha boasts better frame rates at higher resolutions and higher settings. For future proofing and to push performance to VR and 4k gaming levels, the new Alpha is now compatible with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier.2

Many of these same updates can be found on the new version of the Alienware Steam Machine for users looking to take full advantage of the console experience offered by Valve’s SteamOS and Steam Controller.

Alienware Area-51 desktop

As one of the most revered performance PCs of all time, the Area-51 ups its game again at E3. The ultimate full-tower gaming desktop is now equipped with the new Intel Core i7 (a.k.a. Broadwell-e) CPUs ranging from 6- to 10-core options, as well as NVIDIA’s latest GeForce graphics technology (a.k.a. Pascal). According to Intel, the Core i7 delivers up to 35% faster multi-threaded performance and combined with the new GeForce GTX graphics there is a new standard for multi-tasking and VR.3 The iconic triad design exemplifies Alienware engineering prowess with support for up to three full-length double-wide graphics cards, easily removable side-panels, convenient access to ports and carrying handles, as well as a highly-optimized thermal management system. It’s not only ideal for gamers and VR enthusiasts, it’s the platform of choice for anyone that wants to configure elite performance.

Alienware 13 OLED notebook

Previewed five months ago at CES, the Alienware 13 is the world’s first gaming notebook to offer revolutionary OLED display technology designed in partnership with Samsung. More consumers are embracing OLED graphics in televisions and smartphones, with self-lighting pixels that can switch off completely to achieve perfect black for significantly higher contrast. How much higher? The Alienware 13 OLED’s touchscreen display offers an astronomical contrast ratio of 100,000:1, also delivering better color saturation. With the fastest response time on a notebook, typically 1ms, gamers get a display performance experience never before possible on an LCD. Compatibility with the Alienware Graphics Amplifier allows for boosted graphics performance now, or in the future, and an even better experience with this stunning display.

The hit PC indie farming game Stardew Valley has been announced for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U. The developer, ConcernedApe, has stated that the console versions are being handled by Chucklefish and Sickhead Games and they are aiming to get the game on each of the three platforms by Q4 2016.

THe developer went on to state that it is “very important to me that playing Stardew Valley with console controllers is intuitive and effortless. I’ll be the first to admit that the current, rudimentary controller support in the PC version is far from ideal, and it will need to be adjusted prior to the launch” and that he is very interested in seeing what can be done with the Wii U’s second screen.

Crackdown 3 Delayed to 2017, Will be Part of “Play Anywhere” Program

Many people were expecting to hear something about Crackdown 3 during Microsoft‘s E3 press conference today but when the event concluded, many were wondering what happened. Well in a blog post from creative director Dave Jones it is explained that Crackdown 3 has been delayed to 2017 but when it is released it will be available for both the Xbox One and PC and will be part of the “Play Anywhere” program, meaning one purchase of the game will grant access to the title on both platforms.

He went on to say that “Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.”
