First Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Gameplay Plus New Details

xenoverse-2-screenshot-06

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was announced last month with a great launch trailer to get us all hyped, however it featured no gameplay. Now Bandai Namco have given us a first look at a one on one match, pitting Future Gohan (unfortunately with both arms intact) against the original evil Goku, Turles.

While it seems like not too much has changed from this short fight, a number of improvements have been made that I personally noticed.

  • 60 FPS on all platforms.
  • Improved hit detection.
  • Seems to be a z-dash mechanic added like the old Tenkaichi 3 days where you can dash behind them quickly.
  • Basic ki blast bend and seem to home in more than before.
  • Seems to be a bit more variety in how you can vanish and step around the arena.
  • Maybe the lock on cursor is gone but with no HUD in the trailer could easily just be for the trailer.

Bandai Namco also released some more official information on the game in some neat dot points alongside some screenshots. Inside this information drop was also a more specific release window of Autumn 2016, where as before all we had was a 2016 release date.

  • Relive the Dragon Ball story by time traveling and changing historic moments in the Dragon Ball universe
  • Next-gen visuals bring the Dragon Ball anime experience to life
  • New characters and boss fights
  • Brand new hub city 7X the size of the original game with 300 players online at the same time
  • More in depth character creation system
  • Updates and post launch support for up to one year

xenoverse-2-screenshot-03

Looks like we can definitely get excited about Xenoverse 2 with all those new additions and it’s great to see the game will be supported for at least one year. We are sure some of that will be paid DLC however Xenoverse 1 also had some great free support with costume pieces, new modes and patches.

We can definitely expect more news from the Japan Expo which begins on July 10th and will have the games producer present. Check out the new screenshots and gameplay footage below and let us know what you think about the improvements in the comments below.

UPDATE: A couple new details have been released. The city hubs name is Conton city. You  will be able to fly around the city after your character reaches a certain level and there are some new things to do in the city such as attend a school, which could be a replacement for the mentor system in Xenoverse 1. Cooler seems like he will be apart of the story and playable roster as well, showing up in the big fight between Frieza and Super Saiyan Goku.

Capcom has announced that they are working on a brand new type of game for the Resident Evil series in the form of Resident Evil 7: biohazard. Announced during the Sony E3 2016 press conference, Resident Evil 7: biohazard is being developed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will be released on January 24, 2017. Mass Effect: Andromeda Protagonist’s Last Name is Ryder

Mass-Effect-Andromeda-screenshot-009

You may remember that throughout the entire trilogy of Mass Effect players took control of Commander Shepard. No matter which gender you selected or the first name you chose to use, the character would always be referred to as Shepard. Now with Mass Effect: Andromeda moving away from the original trilogy many have wondered just what the next protagonist will be called. Well it seems that the producer of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Michael Gamble, decided to provide that news through a simple message revealing that the new protagonist will have the last name of Ryder.

At the moment very little is known about what Ryder’s journey will entail but EA is currently aiming to have Mass Effect: Andromeda released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2017.

Steep, an Open-World Action Sports Game, Announced for December Release

steep-screenshot- (9)

One of the more interesting announcements that Ubisoft made during their E3 2016 presentation came in the form of an action sports game that will take place in an open world set in the Alps. The title is called Steep and it will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime in December. Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, Steep drops players onto the peaks of mountains, with exhilarating experiences that include skiing, wingsuiting, snowboarding, and paragliding.

These sports establish an incredible level of freedom to explore the game’s open world, allowing players to choose the way they travel and play. Steep’s vast playground offers a wide range of activities that give players the opportunity to discover, compete, pull off crazy stunts, and more. Players can meet with friends from all over the world to create unique and memorable moments.

In Steep, players can use the innovative trail feature to relive their most inspiring rides and trailblazing achievements, and share them on social networks with friends. Along with sharing ride replays, players can also use this feature to challenge friends to outrace them on a shared path, create epic stunts or set out to discover the massive mountain playground.

Notebook gamers are often forced to compromise. And tens of millions more can only read about incredible PC VR experiences that they can’t enjoy for themselves. That all changes with the Radeon™ RX Series, placing compelling and advanced high-end gaming and VR technologies within reach of everyone.”

Gamers in the market for a new graphics card need look no further than the forthcoming Radeon™ RX Series, consisting of:
