Nintendo delivered on it’s promise to officially unveil the Nintendo NX today, releasing a trailer that showed off the new consoles look, basic features, a few surprise games and the official name, the Nintendo Switch. It seems all the handheld/console hybrid rumours were true.
The entire Nintendo Switch console is essentially a handheld screen. This screen features two detachable controllers (officially called Joy-Cons) that feature control sticks, face buttons and a shoulder button that slot on to the side of the screen. These can be removed to play with both controls with your hands separated or two people might make use of one control each to play a multiplayer game as demonstrated with Mario Kart. Multiple Switch consoles can communicate with each other wirelessly similarly to the Nintendo 3DS. A more traditional ‘pro controller’ is also being made available.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5uik5fgIaI
The screen will slide into a dock that remains connected to your TV to give it a more traditional home console feel. A game card slot was spotted in the trailer giving credibility to the Switch using cartridges as opposed to disc. We didn’t get any concrete details or even a solid 360 look at the console and controls themselves, so a lot of the Nintendo Switch is still a mystery. This leaves perhaps the two most burning questions unanswered, battery life of the console when not in the dock and power.
Games revealed include a HD port of Skyrim, a new 3D Mario game with a Mexican cultural influence in the level, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and two seemingly enhanced ports or entirely new games, Mario Kart and Splatoon. The Mario Kart game being played had King Boo as a playable character and showed the player holding two items instead of one. The Splatoon gameplay featured new customisation options, a new map and new weapons.
Nintendo were also proud to announce the plethora of third party support that is developing games for the NX. Third party support on the Wii U was obviously a major issue however it is important to remember the Wii U also boasted impressive third party support at it’s launch as well. The list for NX developers is:

English Voice Acting Cast for Persona 5 Gets a Fresh Start
Sydney, Australia – October 20 –Atlus U.S.A., Inc. does not often get to announce voice casts, but considering the magnitude of the game, they can reveal a partial cast list for the English dub of Persona 5. Releasing in Australia on Feb. 14, 2017 on the PlayStation®4 (PS4), the English dub is being supervised by the long-time Persona series project lead in the Americas, Yu Namba.
“We at Atlus U.S.A. take pride in the quality and care we put into casting and dubbing for our games, and Persona 5 is no exception,” said Yu Namba, Persona 5 project lead and recording supervisor. “This is a completely new cast of characters, so we started with a blank slate in bringing life to them with our stellar cast of voice actors. It’s hard saying goodbye to the cast of previous Persona games, but we hope to bring an entirely new tone with a new set of actors for this game.”
The main Persona 5hero cast includes:
Xander Mobus as the protagonist
Cassandra Morris as Morgana
Max Mittelman as Ryuji Sakamoto
Erika Harlacher as Ann Takamaki

Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled youth who live dual lives. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high-schooler – attending class, after-school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self;” the game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.
Persona 5 will release on Feb. 14 in the Americas, Europe and Australia, for PlayStation 4. Pre-orders of the Steelbook Launch Edition are now available at EB Games and JB Hi Fi.

How it has taken TOEI so long to reach this decision is beyond me, but the Japanese company has finally announced that Dragon Ball Super will begin airing with English subtitles on three popular anime streaming services.
This means fans all around the world can begin watching Dragon Ball Super, legally and without having to wait for a fan sub version to be released. The simulcast will begin this week with Episode 63 of Dragon Ball Super and will be available to watch just one hour after the episode finishes airing in Japan.
Not only that, but it seems that after Episode 63 is made available the entire Future Trunks Arc beginning with episode 47 will also be made available. If that’s not enough Dragon Ball Super for you, then beginning October 30th, 10 episodes from the beginning of the series will be released each week until eventually the entire series is made available.
Now there are a few different services and fees being utilised here depending on which continent you live on so I’ll break it down. Unfortunately it currently seems there are no plans to bring this initiative to the European or wider Asian market (sorry Antarctica you miss out as well).
Australia and New Zealand – Crunchyroll, Daisuki and AnimeLab both free and paid members. Local streaming time Sunday, 12:00pm EST.

South Africa – Crunchyroll for paid members. Local streaming time Sunday 6:00pm SAST.
Dragon Ball Super premiered in Japan on Fuji TV well over a year ago in July of 2015. This news is unrelated to anything happening with the Funimation English dub that is all but officially confirmed to have already begun recording.
New Features Released With Skyforge’s Largest Expansion to Date
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – October 19, 2016 – Developer Allods Team and global publisher My.com are excited to release Ascension, a massive expansion available for all players ofSkyforge. Based on more than a year of player data and community feedback, the Allods Team has worked on revisiting existing systems and implementing new features to expand Skyforge. New dangers await all players – the menacing god of the Oceanids has sent his ships to Aelion! Tol-Monter is the boss of an unusual new raid and not just the strongest players can fight him. Anyone who has received their Divine Form can go into battle against this great god – and win!
The updates in the Ascension expansion for Skyforge consist of the following:
New Progression Campaign: A significant modification comes in the form of the Regions Map, which is an extended progression campaign, where players can unlock access to new Adventures, Classes, and Symbols. Over a hundred marks on the map represent adventures and missions that make progression very clear and keep gameplay diverse while players improve their characters.
Extended Combat Mechanics: Combat will become even more interesting thanks to an extended combat system. When you defeat monsters, players can take their weapons or even part of their bodies to use them against other enemies! Battles will become more diverse and tactical through the ability to kite enemies and dodge attacks more consistently.
Brand-new Class: The Outlaw is a charismatic, daring and dangerous hero, who expertly wields two pistols and when necessary, dynamite. Enemies would do well not to underestimate this new combatant.
New Politics System: The Council of Gods is a completely new political system. From now on, immortals can elect who the world of Aelion will answer to for a few weeks. In their hands, the leaders will hold power, resources, and the fate of the people. Players will be able to elect or be elected, and take control! This system will follow the release of Ascension very soon.
