Playtonic Games reveal supporting cast, featuring a cameo by Yacht Club Games’ indie legend!

UK – 26^th September 2016 – Award-winning international games label Team17 and Playtonic Games, the UK studio formed by veterans of the platforming genre, have released a new gameplay trailer showcasing a whole host of new characters including a very special guest indeed!

Following the worldwide consumer premiere at the UK’s biggest games event, EGX, the all-new trailer focuses on the multitude of unique, colourful characters that inhabit the world of their hotly anticipated open-world platformer, Yooka-Laylee. Team17 and Playtonic Games have also revealed that they’ve teamed up with the talented Yacht Club Games to bring their eponymous hero Shovel Knight to Yooka-Laylee in a special guest appearance.

Among many other characters making an appearance within the new trailer are:

Capital B – Cunning bizzness executive Capital B is the CEO of diabolical corporation Hivory towers, which has recently joined forces with ingenious tech firm Quack Corp. Together, they’re about to launch their most devious scheme yet: To absorb all of the world’s books and take over the world!

Trowzer – The serpent salesman claims to be the most skilled and knowledgeable character in the game, though Laylee suspects he’s little more than a dodgy dealer. During their adventure, Yooka and Laylee can purchase advanced manoeuvres from Trowzer’s travelling moves shop.

Dr. Quack – The former partner of Dr. Puzz, Quack’s increasingly wild experiments lead him down the path of corruption. Now fully clad in a not-so-hi-tech ‘biosuit’, the ‘good’ doctor uses his scientific expertise to power up Hivory Towers’ Corplet employees

Dr. Puzz – A hapless scientist who’s experience more than her share of tentacle – erm ‘technical’ issues, Dr. Puzz will use her D.N.Ray to transform Yooka and Laylee into a plethora of crazy critters and help them on their adventure.

Players will get to meet Yooka, Laylee and the rest of Playtonic’s whacky cast of characters when Yooka-Laylee arrives in Q1 2017.

About the Game

In the new future, everyone’s mental state and disposition can now be quantified. Everything from emotional tendencies to criminal behavior are recorded and utilized as a guideline to lead everyone to the good life: not only pursuing happiness, but attaining it. Needless to say, the public was excited to begin quantifying their everyday lives. The general term for this value, which determines the morality of an individual’s heart and soul, is commonly known as the Psycho-Pass.

One component of this value is the Crime Coefficient, which is ultimately a number that represents an individual’s potential to commit crime. In order to combat those who attempt to disrupt the status quo, detectives work in tandem to maintain peace and order, composed of Enforcers and Inspectors. The former is tasked with apprehending suspects, while the latter oversees and commands their subordinate colleagues. After all, Enforcers possess high Crime Coefficients. However, because of their criminal nature, they can better understand what makes other criminals tick, allowing them to sniff out suspects and arrest the true perpetrators. But because of their criminal background, Inspectors are needed to provide a calm and sound judgement to each case. Ultimately, all members of the MWPSB have to walk a fine line, maintaining their own mental health while facing the worst that society has to offer.

With justice in their hearts, the detectives of Division 1 tackle each case, confronting humanity’s ugly truths.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – System Rift now available

Video game publisher Maximum Games has released a brand new video for its upcoming open-world, melee-based combat motorcycle racing game, Road Rage, focusing on the massive city of Ashen and the neighbourhoods that players will fight to control. Road Rage is set for release on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft on November 18th, 2016.

The outward beauty of Ashen belies the dangerous underbelly of the motorcycle gangs that rule its streets. From the city of Chitaly, to the suburbs of Ruscago, to the outer reaches of its Farmlands, players will need to explore, race, and battle for control of the expansive neighbourhoods of Ashen if they want to survive and advance within their gang.

Maximum Games’ new video takes a closer look at the Story, Environments and Missions in Road Rage, giving players an overall taste of the mayhem they’ll encounter in the game. From all-out gang brawls to timed races, you’ll get a preview of the types of missions you’ll have to complete within each district on your way to becoming Club President.

Road Rage boasts heavy melee-based combat racing that promises an adrenaline-pumping motorcycle ride for all. Featuring 42 story-based missions and over 50 side missions, players must take the helm as Reef Jackson, the newest member of the outlaw motorcycle club controlling underground crime in the city of Ashen. There are absolutely no limits inRoad Rage: ride through a vast open-world environment, play as a range of distinct characters, explore unique neighbourhoods, customise bikes and weapons, and battle your way to become ruler of the road!

Road Rage is currently in development from Team 6 and will be published by Maximum Games. The game will be available on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One November 18th 2016.
