Arena of Cube Launching on Steam on July 26

Yuelong announced the first beta build of Arena of Cube will launch on Steam on July 26. The free to play game mixes a voxel-based sandbox with PVP action. The game will launch with three modes, with new variants coming out each month.

SkyWars is set on a map full of small islands. Players will duke it out battle royale style with no respawns and must rely on randomly generated items spread across the map. To get the best gear, players will have to risk combat and make their way to the resource rich main island.

BedWars is another free for all mode that allows respawning as long as the player’s bed is safe. To win, players will need to be the last one standing as they simultaneously assault other player bases while defending their own.

SnowWars is a twist on the classic King of the Hill rule set. Players earn points by nailing others with snowballs. The greatest tactical advantage is awarded to the player who can hold the hill, as they will have access to unlimited snowballs. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the match.

Arena of Cube will be available for Windows only via SteamFollow Arena of Cube on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

F1® 2018 ADDS EVEN GREATER DEPTH TO CAREER MODE

F1® 2018 ADDS EVEN GREATER DEPTH TO CAREER MODE

Latest Developer Diary Focuses on Research & Development Enhancements

Larkspur, Calif. – July 25, 2018 – Codemasters® has today released the second part in a series of developer diaries for F1® 2018, the official videogame of the 2018 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, detailing how even greater depth has been added to the Career mode by expanding the player’s research and development options. The changes and additions to the system will now see each F1 team have its own unique technology tree with differing strengths and weaknesses.

The second of the four part series, which is available to watch now at www.youtube.com/formula1game, reveals that F1 2018’s Career will feature significant rule changes between seasons during the Career for the first time. Just like in the real sport, these rule changes can have a great effect on which teams compete for the championship so it is important to react to them as soon as possible.

“We already had an extensive R&D system in last year’s game but wanted to expand this for F1 2018 based both on feedback from our community and where we want to take the Career experience too,” commented Lee Mather, game director, F1 2018. “We have made significant changes to the in-game pricing structure, added ERS upgrades, given each of the Formula 1 Teams their own unique R&D tree, and added a fog of war around the development.

“Probably the most significant addition is the introduction of rule changes, meaning that each season you don’t know where the other teams are going to be performance wise. It makes every year unique and drives you to want to do season after season.” Lee continued. “The player will be notified by their engineer that a rule change could be taking place at the end of the year and they can choose to use R&D points to preserve upgraded items to protect areas that have already been developed. Doing so could see the player starting the following season in a stronger position. However, the other teams will also have to contend with the rules changes, meaning you take to the grid in Melbourne not knowing which teams are the fastest.”

F1 2018 features all the official teams, the drivers and all 21 circuits of the thrilling 2018 season, including Circuit Paul Ricard and the Hockenheimring. As well as the current season’s offerings the game includes 20 iconic cars from the history of the sport allowing you to drive the likes of James Hunt’s legendary 1976 championship winning McLaren M23D and Niki Lauda’s Ferrari 312 T2, both of which featured in the hit movie ‘Rush’ (2013). F1 2018 will release onto PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC on August 24.

ACHTUNG! CTHULHU TACTICS DELIVERS A LOVECRAFTIAN TWIST WORLD WAR II TURN-BASED STRATEGY IN Q4 2018

ACHTUNG! CTHULHU TACTICS DELIVERS A LOVECRAFTIAN TWIST WORLD WAR II TURN-BASED STRATEGY IN Q4 2018

Save the world from the Nazis, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

London, United Kingdom – July 25th, 2018 – Ripstone Games are proud to announce that it’s teamed up with developer Auroch Digital to release the occult turn-based strategy game Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics in Q4 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch release will follow later this year.

Based on the wildly successful tabletop RPG from Modiphius Entertainment, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics is set in an alternate World War II where the Nazis have gained a considerable advantage by summoning Lovecraftian monsters that could enable them to destroy the allies. Players take control of Charlie Company, an elite band of allied forces, sent in to do the impossible: foil the Nazi plans and turn the tide of war.

“We loved Modiphius’ pulp mash-up of World War II Nazis and the Cthulhu Mythos. It’s an incredibly evocative and exciting alternative history which makes for a unique tabletop experience” said Nina Adams, Producer at Auroch Digital. “We’re taking that nigh-on faultless foundation and transporting it into the video game medium, via our favourite genre, the turn-based tactics game. With the genre experiencing something of a comeback in recent years, we feel Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics will not only deliver an incredibly compelling theme and world to play in but also offer innovative gameplay possibilities.”

Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics utilizes a mix of turn-based strategy and RPG mechanics as players embark on a globe-trotting campaign against the forces of evil. Each hero character features their own backstory, weapon specialisations, and combat abilities to give players an edge in the battlefield. Captain Eric “Badger” Harris is a British Intelligence operative who specializes in experimental weaponry and guerrilla warfare; Ariane Dubois is a French Resistance member who’s bonded with a demonic spirit creature that she can command on the battlefield; Corporal Akhee “The Eye” Singh wields a sentient amulet that can transform him into a whirling cloud of blades; and Sergeant Brandon Carter is a loud-mouthed American soldier with a medallion that imbues his signature Thompson submachine gun, with Mythos-fuelled bullets that can tear through the Nazi’s horrifying creations.
Beyond these four main heroes, Charlie Company is joined by the covert ops of Badger’s Commando Unit, and the Native American tribe The Keijn – or “Pathfinder Demon Hunters” as they’re often known.
In the world of Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics, all Allied forces fight better in the light. Step into the dark, however, and the forces of evil will grow ever more powerful.

Shining Resonance Refrain Review

Shining Resonance Refrain

Developer: Media Vision
Publisher: Sega
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One (Reviewed), Switch
Release Date: Available Now
Price: $49.99 USD – Available Here $79.95 AUS – Available Here

Overview

It has been many years since the Shining series has left Japan. In fact the most recent releases from the franchise have been in the form of a PC fighting game and an anime adaptation for a game that was never localized. As such it came as a bit of a surprise to hear that Sega was bringing Shining Resonance Refrain, an enhanced version of a previous PlayStation 3 release, to the West. So with that being said, is this JRPG worth your time?

Story

Once the land of Alfheim high elves lived in harmony with dragons and made use of mystic Rune songs to communicate with them but a powerful evil force named Deus wished to rebuild the world. With some elves choosing to side with Deus and others wanting to keep the world as it was, war raged throughout the land and although the dragons and elves of the land managed to seal away Deus, the cost was immeasurable as the land of Alfheim was destroyed and nearly all of the dragons had perished.

With the elves leaving to the mainland, humans began to settle on the land of Alfheim and founded a new kingdom named Astoria where they began to thrive. That is until the Lombardian Empire turned their sights towards the now vibrant island, waging a war that was only held at a deadlock thanks to Astoria being assisted by elves from the mainland and special tools named Armonics, instruments capable of using special magics that were given to the people by the great Shining Dragon of legend.

It is here that we join a young princess knight named Sonia in a mission to rescue a young man named Yuma who is imprisoned by the Empire. While the task is a risky one it ends up being a true boon to the nation as Yuma (who serves as the main character) holds the soul of the Shining Dragon inside of him and is capable of transforming into the legendary creature should the need arise. While Yuma is hesitant to make use of his abilities, he quickly learns that he cannot sit by the sidelines and let the Empire destroy Astoria and vows to help protect the land.

It is interesting to note that right off the bat Shining Resonance Refrain recommends that players should try the original story first before playing the Refrain version, since the Refrain version contains a few extra tidbits of information and two characters that will almost immediately join your party even though they are enemies in the main game. That being said, there really are no downsides to actually playing this mode right away as not only will extra content be included but there is very little in the way of actual story spoilers with the addition of these two characters other than their party addition being rather odd.

Shining Resonance Refrain‘s core storyline really doesn’t try to be too innovative and tends to follow most of your standard JRPG elements and can even be a bit slow to develop at times but what helps make the story interesting happens to be how well the characters are actually handled. This is handled through a secondary mechanic that follows a character’s affection with Yuma since their personalities tend to be rather standard in the storyline. By talking with your party members when you are in the hub town and choosing correct dialogue choices you can raise and lower their affection levels and not only does this raise their combat abilities but it will also unlock new story elements for each of the individual characters.

All of the characters, both female and male, can be talked through at bonfires with special “Night Events” that will allow you to grow closer together and eventually you can even go on dates in the main city to unlock additional pieces of their storyline, fleshing out these characters to a rather satisfying degree. This is especially true in the case of the bonus characters included in the Refrain mode.

Gameplay

Like with many recent JRPGs, players will be mostly making use of only one city that serves as the hub to their adventure and this one happens to be named Marga. As you spend time in the city you can make use of various shops that will allow you to purchase new items, enhance your characters’ weaponry which in turn increases nearly all of their main stats, create usable items, and even gather some items through gathering points that are also found in the main world. Players will also be able to take on various side-quests from the townsfolk though don’t expect too much variety to be found here as many of them revolve around killing a certain type of enemy or gathering items.

Outside of town players will find that there is a very large world open to them where enemies can be found roaming the wilds and inside of dungeons. There is no option to perform an advanced attack on enemies, instead when you grow close enough to them combat will automatically begin and take place in real time in that location. Combat works with players controlling a specific character while the rest of your party follows orders that can be changed at any time.

As you fight players will be able to make use of standard attacks that deal decent damage as well as character specific “Break” attacks that have the chance of breaking through an opponent’s’ guard and leaving them in a “broken” state where they will be stunned and take increased damage. Characters can also make use of Force attacks that require the use of MP, though it is worth noting that any of the aforementioned attacks will require Action Points (AP) with a gauge below the character showing how many you have available.

This AP system does feel like it slows combat down a bit too much at times but thankfully between the combination of Force attacks, a wide array of skills to unlock and eventually choose from, and the ability for Yuma to transform into the Shining Dragon at the risk of going berserk, and you’ll find that there is plenty of depth to this combat system. This is especially true in regards to the B.A.N.D. system that allows your characters to perform a song together that will provide various buffs to the party depending on who is performing in the center.

Visuals & Audio

For the most part Shining Resonance Refrain isn’t the best looking JRPG in recent years, this is partially due to the fact that it is a remastered PlayStation 3 release, but that doesn’t mean the game is lacking in the art department. The standard environments outside of the main town are rather generic in nature and even most of the enemies tend to be your standard fare when it comes to an action RPG. Where the game does shine happens to be Tony Taka’s familiar hand with the character designs. All of the characters in this game are nicely represented and feature an impressive level of detail, so much that even with the bevy of DLC costumes available I found myself keeping their original outfits on as they simply looked the best.

Shining Resonance Refrain boats both an impressive Japanese dubbing as well as a well handled English voice track, giving players a satisfying option to choose between and swap whenever they wish. The background music is also rather impressive in nature as all of the standard music is pleasant on the ears and there is a rather large amount of vocal tracks included in the game thanks to the musical nature of some combat elements.

Overall

With plenty of charm and a great art style for its main characters, there is a lot to enjoy about this game despite its lackluster core storyline and a lot of it can be attributed to how nicely handled the characters as well as the decent combat system with enough unique elements to keep things feeling fresh. Shining Resonance Refrain may not be revolutionary to the genre but it does serve as a very satisfying JRPG that feels like it has came out at the perfect time.

Fire At Will: Space combat, mech battler War Tech Fighters launches today

Fire At Will: Space combat, mech battler War Tech Fighters launches today

Combine long-range firepower with close combat to save the galaxy!

London, UK, 25th July, 2018: Mech fans across the galaxy, rejoice: Drakkar Dev and Green Man Gaming are both excited to bring War Tech Fighters to full launch on Steam today.

War Tech Fighters challenges players to take on the deadliest weapons ever built – the War Techs. Reaching across the galaxy, players must fight to defend the rebel colonies of Hebos and Ares against the Zatros Empire – the malevolent force behind the War Techs, intent on spreading their malignant influence across the cosmos.

Bringing an end to their destructive advance is a case of taking on the War Techs – giant mechs that combine cold precision and state of the art technology – out amongst the stars, using a combination of close combat and long-range firefights to engage in massive, manic, and marvellous battles where only the most cunning and canny of pilots will survive.

“As anyone who experienced War Tech Fighters in Early Access will know, we’ve looked to bring together the best elements from Japanese Anime and Hollywood Blockbusters into one explosive package,” says Manlio Greco, CEO of Drakkar Dev.

“The sheer scale of the space battles, with players switching rapidly between ranged and close combat, is incredible to watch. Balancing between the two approaches creates incredible variety in gameplay, as does the amount of time gamers spend customising their mechs to represent their own inimitable style.”

War Tech Fighters features: –

  • Fully Equipped War Tech – Destroy your enemies in long-range combat with guns and missiles, or get up close and personal with swords and shields.
  • Dual camera view – play and fight in Third or First person.
  • Customization – Hundreds and thousands of combinations of mech parts, weapons, and colors to truly stand out on the battlefield.
  • Upgrades – Three base robot sets, each with specific bonuses, and over 180 upgradable robot parts, swords and shields
  • Research & Development – Research new upgrade projects to enhance your War Tech, and develop weapons ranging from missile launchers to antimatter cannons.
  • Level Up – Gain experience through combat to level up your War Tech pilot to gain improved attack and defence bonuses.
  • Unlockable Special Projects – Explore space and collect hidden project parts to gain access to new War Tech sets, new swords, new shields and research projects.
  • Intense Single Player Missions – Experience 33 missions of Captain Nathan Romanis’ battle across the galaxy.
  • Simulator Bridge – Train your War Tech by replaying missions, or take on special Challenges to gain experience and add-ons to improve your machine.
  • Survival Mode – Test yourself to the limit in three deadly infinite survival arenas, and walk away with special rewards. Compete with other players trying to reach for the top in a global leaderboard.

GTA Online: After Hours Out Now

Work your way up from an empty Los Santos venue to running the hottest spot in clubland as Gay Tony rides again in GTA Online: After Hours.

Get your venture off the ground with some help from the legendary Tony Prince: source a sound system, choose your décor and get busy booking superstar DJs to keep the club packed to the rafters all day and all night – and use it all as a front for the most concentrated network of criminal enterprises ever to hit San Andreas. From the mainframe in this sprawling underground warehouse your tech team can accrue high demand contraband from every other business you own – and all without you having to lift a finger.

Run missions to secure your club’s essentials – bar and security staff, equipment, and resident DJ – then promote your venue to boost your profile, and keep club profits rolling in. And while you’re there, you might as well have some fun: tear up the dance floor to earn awards with all-new dancing, sip some bubbles in the VIP area, pour shots for your friends from behind the bar – and keep an eye out for Los Santos celebrities to make an appearance at the most popular clubs from the likes of Jimmy Boston, Lacey Jonas and more.

Thanks to Tony’s dodgy fixer English Dave, renowned deep house titan Solomun has signed on as your first resident DJ, and some of the world’s best DJs will be swinging through town soon, looking for the right venue to bring their own unique mix of modern house and techno. Here’s a look at the lineup for the weeks ahead:

Your Nightclub Warehouse elevates your whole operation: every existing business you own can be managed here with the help of Technicians, from your Smugglers cargo Hangar to your Biker Business’ Meth Lab. If you want to expand your criminal network you can take advantage of this week’s discounted business properties and setup new businesses, then get your tech guys to accrue supply and tap into a brand new revenue stream while you stroll behind the booth to enjoy world class music and watch your club go off.

You’ll need a delivery fleet to move the cargo your Technicians collect. You can sell quickly in smaller transactions or accrue cargo from multiple businesses to sell in riskier, high volume transactions for greater profits and there are brand new vehicles to fit any job. Your Warehouse Garage includes a complimentary Vapid Speedo Custom, which your mechanic can customize with optional armor plating and a swivel-mounted machine gun. The Maibatsu Mule Custom and MTL Pounder Custom are larger vehicles to handle riskier deliveries, each with armor and weapons customizations to protect your goods and your neck.

The Nightclub Warehouse Garage comes stocked with the Vapid Speedo classic and space to grow your fleet including up to 3 floors of 10 car garages for personal vehicles.

A new kind of turf war has come to Los Santos and business owners with MCs and Organizations up to the task can take down spontaneous scores of up-for-grabs cargo in Freemode. Business Battles are a unique first-come-first-serve opportunity to take possession of a little extra product for your Nightclub Warehouse stockpile. Beware though, because every cutthroat and goon in the city can compete for the opportunity to take home the drops of cargo, weapons, or product. Keep yourself stocked with tools of the trade – from powerful weapons to armored vehicles – and stay ahead of your competition; incentives to cooperate are thin on the ground.

Log in through July 30th to unlock the exclusive Tony’s Fun House T-Shirt and relive your most ill-fated benders.

Get ready for a street side symphony as the screeching wheels of a customized Dinka Jester Classic compete with the shuddering roar of a Mammoth Patriot Stretch and the effortless purr of the Ocelot Swinger. Plus a trio of new functional delivery vehicles that can be transformed into fully weaponized juggernauts, the MTL Pounder Custom, Maibatsu Mule Custom and Vapid Speedo Custom. Then there’s the Festival Bus

Light up a midnight rager with a 20-foot neon skull and a bass-boosted Festival Bus.

The Ocelot Swinger, a true legend has finally hit the streets.

Choose from an assortment of liveries and other customizations for the Dinka Jester Classic.

If you reserved your spot on the Guest List by logging into GTA Online between June 25th and July 2nd, the rewards continue to roll in. Guest List members get a GTA$350,000 bonus cash on the house and ditch a bloodied flak jacket for the pristine Maisonette Los Santos Tee.

Then, get your business sales humming with an exclusive 40% discount on the Maibatsu Mule Custom & MTL Pounder Custom, and add brawn with an additional 40% off Armor Upgrades on both vehicles and your club’s included Vapid Speedo Custom.

Guest List members can also give a psychedelic skin to their Nightclub fleet with the exclusive Sessanta Nove Multi-Color and Pink & Green Camo Liveries, or celebrate a decadent decade in the English empire with the exclusive For Queen and Country Livery for the Ocelot Swinger.

Make sure you’ve linked your Rockstar Games Social Club account to your Facebook account, and get ready for the exclusive Facebook Gaming x Social Club: After Hours Live Stream Series with in-stream GTA$ rewards. The first stream in this special series will be kicking off this coming Friday July 27 at facebook.com/rockstargames with our Official After Hours Live Stream on fb.gg, Facebook’s new home for gaming videos. Hosted by Rockstar’s own lounge lizard Lazlow alongside the Rockstar Broadcast Team and special guest Facebook Gaming Creator all-star friends live from Rockstar NYC – we’ll be getting down on the dance floor, popping bottles of Blêuter’d, and pulling out all the stops to make Tony’s Fun House the hottest club in Los Santos. And for the party people joining us live in Facebook chat who have their Social Club account linked, we’ll be making it rain on the crowd with in-stream GTA$ rewards for lucky linked viewers to collect. The Facebook Gaming In-Stream Rewards Series will continue on with weekly streams through mid-August with select Facebook Gaming Creator friends on their channels. The top five submissions will earn GTA$5,000,000 to help ease the hangover.

Valid submissions must be tagged with #AFTERHOURS on the Rockstar Games Social Club and submitted before Monday, July 30th to be eligible for consideration. Please see the Official Rules and Privacy Policy for eligibility details.

Overview

We all know Valve’s terrible track record for games with the number 3 in the title. So, while gamers wait for to see if Left 4 Dead 3 suffers the same fate as Half Life 3 and Half Life 2: Episode 3, developers are looking to fill the gap with their own take on four player co-op shooters. Holospark is the latest to step in the ring with Earthfall. The game aims to modernize Left 4 Dead with now standard FPS features like sprinting while putting their own spin with tower defense type equipment.

Story

Earthfall is set in the near future after aliens invade Earth. The game follows the adventures of Maya, Roy, Jonas, and Danny as they seek out other survivors. Currently, the game has two campaigns of five missions each plus a collectable lore section. The in-game story is minimal, which is understandable for a multiplayer game like Earthfall. The real meat and potatoes are in the lore section. The overall story is entertaining enough to give some context to the story but isn’t interesting enough to be captivating. The characters end up being dull and one dimensional due to a lack of lines. The general writing quality is okay for the most part. Most of it is passable, but there are a few lines that don’t make much sense in conversational English or are really corny.

Gameplay

Earthfall seeks to be the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead 2 by copying the co-operative gameplay and adding a few modern touches. The basic formula of four players with guns battling against hordes of minions with a few special enemies interspersed has not changed. Holospark has created a few of their own special enemies with some mixed success. Beasts, Sappers, and Threshers are almost direct copies of Left 4 Dead’s Tanks, Boomers, and Hunters. Whiplash is a giraffe-like alien that grabs players and attempts to trot away with its prey. Whiplash is a bit of a flop as it’s usually very easy to kill due to the need to be in close range for the initial grab. The Enrager is a more entertaining enemy with its ability to increase the difficulty level of the alien horde. The Blackout is another excellent special enemy, offering a ranged alternative to the Beast mini-boss.

The weapons are poor. While it’s nice to see modern FPS features like sprint and aiming down sights, the guns feel poorly balanced and clunky. There is no incentive to use anything beyond the standard pistol and an automatic weapon. The starting SW 22A pistol is decent enough, especially when combined with a second pistol. The higher calibre Vendetta pistol on the other hand doesn’t offer much of a damage boost over two SW 22As, but the rate of fire is atrocious. The automatic MP5x and the AK variants all offer solid rate of fire, accuracy, and time to kill. The so-called specialty weapons should offer intriguing alternatives for specific playstyles. Unfortunately, they are so hobbled in one way or the other that there is little reason to sacrifice the balanced performance of the MP5x or the AKs. The burst fire Combat CVA should cater to users with excellent aim and a willingness to engage further out targets, but the damage drop off is too close to make it worth sacrificing automatic fire capabilities. The penetration of the Glintec rifle puts it in a similar situation. It’s slow rate of fire is rewarded with minimal penetration, making automatic weapons a more reliable way to clear hallways. Shotguns are notoriously difficult to balance in video games. Holospark is the latest to fall short as the shotguns don’t hit the right balance between range, damage, and rate of fire either. The Valkyrie grenade launcher is probably one of the better alternative weapons, trading rate of fire for excellent splash damage.

The level design is a bit of a mixed bag. Levels are generally a linear mix of fighting through to new areas, holding out choke points during enemy rushes or map objectives, then doing it all over again. The defense sections is Earthfall at its best. The addition of barricades, automatic turrets, and big mounted guns gives players quite a bit of flexibility on where they want to create a choke point, instead of being stuck with one or two options like Left 4 Dead series. Navigating through levels is a bit tricky. Unless there is an objective explicitly marked in the world, finding the right path forward can be difficult in forested areas and larger interior zones. The game has too few subtle hints to guide the players in the right direction, forcing them to simply memorize the map.

Earthfall is definitely a multiplayer only game. While there is an option to play alone with three bots, the AI is dumb as a door nail. The difficulty of the enemy and the skill level of friendly AI can be set independently. I found the friendly AI had to be set to the highest skill setting to be of any help.

The PC port of Earthfall is solid. The game offers the usual graphic options expected from a proper PC title, including field of view and borderless full screen. The mouse and keyboard controls work well, though there is not option for secondary binds. The controller follows the standard FPS layout and works without issues.

Visuals

Earthfall’s visuals are excellent. The art direction is realistic with some futuristic notes. The alien design looks great, mixing classic sci-fi with a touch of zombie like behaviour. There are only two major issues with the graphics. The melee animations are awkward looking, and the fire is awful. Compared to the rest of the game, the fire looks like it came out of a title from the early 90s.

Audio

Earthfall’s audio experience is poor. The firearm sound effects are too similar and lack any impact. There is very little variety in the music and it rarely follows the mood of the game. Characters will call out that swarms of aliens are coming, but the music doesn’t change at all. The only time the music picks up from the rather depressing tone is when a Beast spawns. To make matters worse, the voice acting is generally mediocre at best.

Overall

Earthfall modernizes Left 4 Dead series but fails to create a cohesive package that honours the games that inspired Earthfall. While Earthfall excels at defensive holdouts, the poorly designed gunplay hampers the game. The story is rather dull, and the characters are one dimensional. The graphics are excellent for the most part, but the audio experience lacks variety and falls short in quality. Unfortunately, games will have to continue waiting for a true successor to Left 4 Dead 2.

SQUAD UP IN PUBG MOBILE’S JULY UPDATE THAT FEATURES ALL-NEW WAR MODE AND CLAN SYSTEM

Players Can Now Unlock Achievements to Earn In-Game Rewards and Items

LOS ANGELES – July 24, 2018 – Tencent Games and PUBG Corp. supercharge the intensity of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG MOBILE) by introducing a major game update today that introduces an action-packed War Mode and all-new clan system.

Following June’s introduction of First Person Perspective Mode, PUBG MOBILE’s latest content drop amplifies the action from the rugged terrain of the Miramar and Erangel realms. Players on iOS and Android can skydive in to the new epic battle of War Mode where teams duke it out on a small patch of the battlefield. Teamwork and grit are continuously tested, as players respawn repeatedly until one team reaches 100 points. Players earn three points for killing an opponent, one point for killing a downed opponent and one point for saving a teammate.

In addition to War Mode, PUBG MOBILE’s July update delivers an all-new way for players to team up and dominate with the introduction of the clan system. Players can create and customize unique clan icons and work to earn exclusive rewards by climbing in ranks and completing challenges.

Other game-related updates for PUBG MOBILE today include:

  • New Region Categorization – Nationality, clan, and friend information are now viewable on title screens, and players can enlist in War Zones that are categorized by geographical region;
  • New Achievement System – Players can participate in fun challenges to unlock achievements and earn in-game items;
  • Exclusive Skins – Even more zany skins are available for customization, including player armor, weapons, planes, and even vehicle finishes;
  • SLR Sniper Rifle – The deadly SLR rifle from PUBG on PC arrives in PUBG MOBILE for additional carnage, along with new grip and scope accessories.

PUBG MOBILE is available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.

PUBG MOBILE is based on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the original battle royale PC and Xbox One phenomenon that took the world of interactive entertainment by storm in 2017. Up to 100 players parachute onto a remote 8×8 km island to do battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. Players must locate and scavenge their own weapons, vehicles and supplies, and defeat every player in a visually and tactically rich battleground that forces players into a shrinking play zone.
