Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown Revealed for PlayStation 4

Although it may not be exactly the news that fans of the Virtua Fighter series were hoping for, Sega has announced that a new enhanced release of Virtua Fighter 5 is on the way and will be releasing digitally worldwide on the PlayStation 4 on June 1st. Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is “remade for a new generation” and features the same style of gameplay and combat from previous games but now features graphics that have been rebuilt using Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Dragon Engine, as well as new background music for each stage, a new UI, a new opening cinematic, as well as new lighting and shaders.

No price point for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown was announced but this does mark the first time that the game has been playable, outside of the Yakuza series, on the PlayStation 4. A trailer highlighting the game as well as some of the nineteen fighters on the roster can be found below.
