Adapting a former gacha game to a full JRPG, Rain, a knight of the Kingdom of Grandshelt, witnesses the Earth Crystal be destroyed by a nigh unstoppable enemy and is joined by the powerful but amnesiac Fina in Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Resonance.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE brings the legendary RPG series into the HD-2D style for the first time, reimagining the opening story arc of FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS as a full-scale console adventure. When the Earth Crystal is shattered by the mysterious Veritas of the Dark, knights Rain and Lasswell embark on a journey alongside the enigmatic Fina to protect the remaining Crystals and uncover the truth behind the growing threat. Their adventure spans a vibrant pixel-art world filled with familiar FINAL FANTASY staples including airships, chocobos, moogles, espers and plenty of secrets to uncover.
Battles combine classic turn-based combat with a strategic Stagger system, rewarding players for exploiting enemy weaknesses to break their defences, gain additional opportunities to attack and unleash powerful Resonance abilities. The Vision system allows legendary FINAL FANTASY heroes such as Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light to fight alongside your party with their own skills and abilities, opening up extensive possibilities for party customization. Away from the main story, players can seek out Gilgamesh, challenge deadly opponents in the Colosseum, tackle the Chamber of Arms and even face the legendary Ultima Weapon.
