Aliens vs. Predator™ – Story Trailer

1

Weyland-Yutani: Building Better Worlds… or perhaps, better hunting grounds.    I personally think it makes for better hunting grounds.  Check out this cool trailer from Sega’s / Rebellion’s Aliens  v Predator.  It’s looking pretty good.  I hope it can slap the bad taste that’s still in my mouth from Rouge Warrior something that I think everyone over at Rebellion would like to forget very quickly.

And I believe that with Aliens v Predator soon to be release the bad taste will go away and happiness and joy will reign supreme, along with stealth kills, lots of screams and acid blood rain drops falling on everyone’s head.  I CANT WAIT !!

Watch  the trailer below and tell us if you can’t wait for the Hunt to begin once again too.

Onlive-01

What would you say, if someone told you you could play the latest video games on demand, anytime and possibly anywhere. Games like GRID, BIOSHOCK, TOMB RAIDER to name just a few, AND the clincher would be that you didn’t even need a new generation console to play them.

You’d think… Yeah Right your pulling my leg… But then it gets better.  With a Internet connect and a little box called the ONLIVE MicroConsole you could connect online, select the game you wanted to play and go for it, even meet up with friends online and play with them.

This all sound too good to be true.. its not possible you think.  Well think again.  This service is very much true and it’s going to be making its way to us very soon.  Onlive is has the backing of some pretty big players behind it.  The likes of :

EA, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Brothers Games, Eidos, Atari, Codemasters, EPIC Games, THQ, 2D Boy and nVidia

With these big boys behind Onlive we can expect to see Onlive smashing its way into your living room tv, PC, MAC, and EVEN portable device like the iPhone.

If you want to see more and read more about Onlive and even be a part of the BETA testing head on over to the Onlive Official Website for more information.  Watch the trailer they have on the main page it’s very cool.

Check it out here.   Now let us know what you think of this as I’m very interested in what the gamers of the future have to say about Onlive.

3D Realms teases upcoming Duke Nukem projects

2

DukeNukem-01

There’s a lot of chatter going on about what’s happening with Mr Kick-Ass and Chew Bubble (and I’m all outta gum) Duke Nukem and how even though Duke Nukem forever will never make it’s way to any of us as fierce and bloody struggle over the Duke is happening in court over the rights to the Numem IP realm.

Information from 3D realm CEO Scott Miller stated the he can see a future for the blond haired, tough as nails alien ass-kicker that also has a bit of a foul mouth on him.

Miller said :

“The next few years should see a strong resurgence in Duke,” Miller mentioned in a recent interview with new gaming mag Gamesauce. “There are numerous other Duke games in various stages of development, several due out this year.”

Miller also added, “We are definitely looking to bring Duke into casual gaming spaces, plus there are other major Duke games in production.”

What do you think that comment might mean.  What is casual gaming ?  Do you think we might see Duke Nukem come back as some sort of shareware style 2d side scrolling adventure action games that will appear on facebook.  eeekkkk I HOPE NOT .. but then we might have Duke Nukem’s Horse Adventures..  Where we replace the Horsies with wild aliens and Duke’s gotta wrangle and break them in and then take them for rides all around the wild barren country-side.  Ohh man the possibilities are endless !!

What do you guys think ???  Let me us know.  If we have some cool comments and suggestions .. I might throw someone over a free game.

Mass Effect 2 information on save game import

2

MassEffect2-02

As we have alredy read and discovered in the past, Mass Effect 2 players will have the option to import save files from Mass Effect which will bring all the descisions made in the first game to unfold into the sequel.

According to Chris Priestly, Community Coorindator at BioWare all your questions are answered in his recent forum post here.

In a nutshell, you won’t be able to play as your super-high-level Shepard when you import the save game, however, the higher your character’s level was when you finished Mass Effect, the better bonuses your Mass Effect 2 Shepard will receive. Some of the bonuses  Chris mentioned include extra money or crafting resources when you start the game.

ALSO,  Chris has said that the game won’t have a “New Game Plus” option, but multiple playthroughs with the same Shepard will be possible.

Very interesting stuff.  What do you guys think.  Let us know.  Leave a comment below

Oh look, it’s THIS game again…

MedalOfHonor2010-Logo

Ladies and Gentlemen, Capsule Computers would like to share a special article written especially for us by freelance editor, Scott Bullock.  Scott will be throwing his opinions around on the latest video games from time to time and this is one he has shared with us today.

–

Ok, so as most of you probably know, EA has announced that they plan to release a new and updated Medal of Honor game. Oh, and it is now apparently going to be set, not in WWII, as any good Medal of Honor should be, but in modern times. So, let me get this straight; you are updating a classic WWII game and setting it’s WARFARE in MODERN times? Where have I heard that before…

Oh yeah.

“But,” I thought, “this can’t be right. No one could really expect us to buy the exact same game we already played. No one could be so despicable that they would totally rip off another developer’s game, right?” Then I remembered that this is EA we’re talking about.

I can believe it.

But in all honesty, why do they have to set these games in the present? I’ve played enough games where all I do is shoot swarthy people in turbans. Where did the days of cappin’ NAZIS (say it like Brad Pitt from Inglourious Basterds) with an M1 go? Why can’t I fight Hitler anymore? Sure, World at War gave me a little Nazi fighting fun, but mostly you fight the Japanese.

And if you are going to make another WWII shooter, why not try something new? Say, break out of the standard linear level progression, and try something a little more open world? That could be… interesting. Imagine if Rockstar Games made a WWII game. You’d probably just end up jacking Panzers and running over French hookers.

Now THAT’s a game.

Next the GAME review we did a while back was a great success.  We’re gonna be bring this back.  This time you can review anything you like from any major console, even handhelds such as Nintendo DS, PSP and iPhone.    Write up a review for your favourite game (make sure it’s a game thats been released in the last 6 months (not too old) and post it in the FORUMS here.  We will not have a word limit this time but try and make it no longer than 1000 words as people tend to fall asleep after 700 words 😉

Depending on how many people enter we might give away 1 to 3 STEAM PC games just like last time.   If we only get less than 10 reviews .. Only 1 STEAM GAME will be given away .. if we get 15 reviews 2 STEAM games will be given away and if we hit 20 .. we will have 3 STEAM Games to give away .. so 3 lucky reviewers will win a game .. and who knows, we might throw in a 4th and 5th place if we get over 20 reviews.

NOW only 1 review per person.  So make it count thats why there isn’t really a word limit but as I explained above.  No more than 1000 words.  The winners will have their reviews posted on Capsule Computers website. You’ll be FAMOUS 😉

Ok well lets get cracking.  The Game Review competition for entries will close on FRIDAY the 1st Of January.  So you have a week to get working on it.  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS .. Get in your reviews before the 1st Jan 2010.   Notifications and reminders will be sent out via Twitter so you don’t forget.

Well thats it 🙂 lets get going and good luck with your reviews.  May the best one win.  Myself and the staff will check the forums daily to see whats been posted and take notes 😉

It’s Official Capcom announce delay of major titles

1

CapcomLogo

As you are all aware, from the previous article posted a few days before Christmas regarding Capcom’s delayed games, It’s now official.  Capcom have released a press release that states the following titles will be delayed :

The delayed games are as follows:

  • Dead Rising 2
  • Lost Planet 2
  • Monster Hunter Tri
  • Super Street Fighter IV

In a way we kinda all knew this was going to happen, .. well it blindsided me thats for sure .. and a lot of others as well. But Word is that Capcom delayed a lot of their games to 2010, stating that they’ve “made the strategic decision to postpone the launch of titles that were scheduled for the 4th quarter of the current fiscal year.”

Another note : Capcom stresses that “rapid changes in the market conditions caused primarily by the 4th quarter introduction by competitors of a large number of new games.”

The only major title and NEW IP : Dark Void is still scheduled to make its appearance in approx 27 days from now and the promotion and hype and push from Capcom has been HUGE !!
