Just when you think TvC: Ultimate All-Stars is out of surprises, Capcom throws this little surprise our way
TvC: Ultimate All-Shooters is a 2D shoot-em-up in the style of past Capcom classics as “Legendary Wings” and “Commando.” It takes place on the snow-covered wastelands of Lost Planet, and pits you against hordes of hungry Akrid bugs.
It has four unique playable characters: Ryu and the PTX-40A from the Capcom side, and Ken the Eagle and Tekkaman from the Tatsunoko side. All of the characters move in their own way, and have character-specific regular and special attacks (shinku-hadoken anyone?). It has mini-bosses, bosses, and MEGA bosses, different paths to take through the game, and you can play up to 4-player coop!
The best part? This game is built into Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars already. Any fans of OG Capcom shooters needs to check this one out.

Call of Duty(R): Modern Warfare(R) 2 Surpasses $1 Billion in Retail Sales Worldwide
Game Continues to Set Retail Sell-Through Records
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan 13, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ — announced today that Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to set sell-through records crossing the $1 billion mark in retail sales worldwide since its launch in November, according to internal Activision estimates.
In its first five days alone, the game sold an estimated $550 million worldwide, outpacing five-day worldwide theatrical box office gross figures for such films as Avatar, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and The Dark Night, according to internal Activision estimates and boxofficemojo.com.
“Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2has exceeded our expectations and shattered theatrical box office and video game records,” said Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “There are only a handful of entertainment properties that have ever reached the $1 billion mark, which illustrates the power of the Call of Duty franchise and mass appeal of this game.”
There’s been a lot of talk about what Capcom is planning with Xbox 360’s Project Natal. Capcom’s VP of strategic planning and business development Christian Svensson had this to say at this years CES 2010 :
“I can’t talk about what we’re doing on Natal right now yet because we haven’t announced it, although we have announced that we’re working on stuff,”
“I think you’ll see again a brand focus on what we’re doing there [on Natal], perhaps a brand we haven’t seen in a while,”
Christian did mention that Capcom will not be releasing this mystery game on launch day as they want to make sure it’s done right and not half baked. I totally stand behind his statement there as its always good to wait an extra week or month to iron out all issues, bugs etc and make a perfect game instead of getting it out there just to please the fans. Then getting ripped a new one because it’s buggy.
I think that Capcom fans around the world would agree with with Christian there.
Now to the million dollar question thats on every Capcom fan’s lips, mind, and hearts. What’s this myster game ?? A Brand we haven’t seen in a while.
A Brand we haven’t seen on Xbox ? or on Playstation, or on the Nintendo in a while ? Was the last time we played it on the Super Nintendo ? The NES ? In the Arcades ??? Geeze that statement is far too open !!
Well we’re all going to have to wait and see. Hopefully someone might be able to squeeze out a bit more information from Christian.
This might be a job for Super MasterAbbott 😉 Able to leap tall VP’s of Strategic planning and business development in a single bound !! Able to use his x-ray vision to see what color .. unmm sorry ehhh .. ok well I’ll do my best to find out on behalf of all you Capcom fans out there !! 😉
