For those of you who haven’t heard, DJ Hero will be receiving no more downloadable content after February. Thankfully though, that date has not approached yet and fans can get the new Pendulum Mix Pack as of today for the music title. These tracks are of course from the electronic music group, Pendulum, who are currently on tour with Linkin Park.
Tracks Include:
· “Watercolour”
· “Set Me On Fire”
· “Salt In The Wounds”
This mix pack will be 640 points on XBLA, $6.29 on the PSN, and sold seperately on the Nintendo Wii for 300 Nintendo points each. As for if this DLC is the final nail in DJ Hero coffin, that is still to be determined as we still have another week that potential content could pop up. I do hope that this is not the final horrah for the extra content, as going out with a bang rather would be better than just a three track pack, but for now though DJ Hero fans have at least a little something extra to keep them busy as their series draws to a close.
The developers that brought us everything from Brutal Legend to Costume Quest are now working on quite a unique game. Announced today by Warner Brothers we now know that Double Fine Productions has been working on a game they are calling Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster which will be a Kinect game for the Xbox 360.
Apparently the game will have players playing alongside the likes of Elmo and the Cookie Monster to explore a storybook and meet other Sesame Street characters. As you can see it looks like the Kinect will place players in control of their own character and will have game mechanics based around childrens’ learning. Much like Sesame Street itself. Expect to see Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster some time in the Fall season.
Even though Marvel vs. Capcom 3 just came out on store shelves today, that doesn’t mean that DLC isn’t already coming down the pipeline. Of course we already know that there will be a Shadow Mode which will be available on March 1st, as well as the DLC pack of Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath. But what we didn’t know was that on that same day a full costume pack will also be released for 400 MSP or $5 depending on the console purchased.
This costume pack which hasn’t received an official name, though could just be called Costume Pack 1, will provide new costumes for a variety of male characters on the roster. The characters that will be getting new outfits are Thor, Iron Man, Dante, Captain America, Chris Redfield and Ryu. Look below to see a plethora of screenshots which show off each of the characters’ new outfits.
Gamers wanting a taste of Grand Prix motorcycle racing should get their hands on the MotoGP 10/11 demo which hits Xbox Live and PSN today. MotoGP 10/11 is the latest in the long line of realistic Grand Prix motorcycle racing games from Capcom. In this demo, player can either race as GP legends Danny Pedrosa or Andrea Dovizioso, in a single Championship race or in Time Trial against the clock on the famous Mugello circuit.
The full game will of cause feature many more motorcycles, circuits and racers as well as, the brand new feature that allows players the ability to fully customise their own bike set up allowing both fans of arcade and simulation style racing the best of both worlds in an authentic MotoGP gaming experience.
With WWE All Stars hitting shelves March 29th, I thought what better time than to give you a full breakdown on what to expect from this brand new IP from THQ. WWE All Stars has the old school stylistic combat that everyone loves and it features stars that wrestling fans love from both the past and present. For wrestling fans, a part of the roster will be revealed here but already displays some of your favorite legends like Andre the giant, Hulk Hogan and The Rock. The superstars list also already features huge current stars like the Big Show, John Cena and Rey Mysterio so if you can’t tell, things are jam-packed in that notion.
Now for those of you who aren’t wrestling fans but are still reading, this game could catch your eye because it isn’t a super realistic wrestling simulator (the size of these guys muscles shows that they are cartoonishly big, even for a pro wrestler). The reason I say this is that this game boasts “over the top” and “high flying action” which combined with brightly coloured motion paths and easy accessible controls, it is looking like we will be getting an experience that hardcore fighting game fans would enjoy as much as casual gamers in for a little bit of easy fun.
This game is on Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, PS2 and Wii and has awesome Mad Catz accessories such as a brawl pad and an arcade stick with buttons that further reinforce the fact that this game is more a predecessor to the arcade WWE/WWF games such as WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game rather than the Smackdown vs. Raw series.
Even with all of this being invested, this title may not sell well and may turn out to be another Legends of Wrestlemania, but considering what they are working from the previous Smackdown vs. Raw, which has already had great customization and match options.
The main thing appealing to WWE fans is the roster as I mentioned before, but there are two bonus characters available: Ted Dibiase and Ted Dibiase Jr. ( available at GameStop for those who want to reserve it here. These two are great examples of how two generations are really coming together and you will finally let fans see their dream father vs son match-up that could not happen otherwise.
The thing we also need to remember amidst all the other news is what could be the best bit about the roster which portrays each superstar with their own style and moves. Sadly, it is a bit of give and take as exclusions have been made such as the loss of Divas, but every star in the game gives a different experience by some measure and will really add to the gameplay with epic unique animations. With The Rock recently returning to the WWE, this also means that the inevitable Cena vs Rock match will be ready for an over-the-top recreation upon launch.
WWE All Stars could be the next big thing for wrestling titles, as the potential is there and even if it does not make it to that extremely high mark, it should still be a fun game that has its selling points for fans of fighters everywhere.
This week kicks off the beginning of the Xbox Live House Party with the Contra prequel, Hard Corps: Uprising. Hard Corps: Uprising will release Wednesday, 16th February, for 1200 Microsoft Points. Not sure about whether to buy it or not? Check out our review of the game here.
There is also only one Deal this week, which seems a little barren compared to the many generous deals we have had in the last month or so. Blacklight: Tango Down is coming to play and you can grab at half price this week (until February 21st), reduced from 1200 Microsoft Points to a measly 600 MSP. Not sure about this one either? Check out our review here. You can add it to your download queue here.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; and those of both genders! Coming February 26-27 is an epic event. An event so epic that is akin to the end of the world in its scale and it’s namesake. Here comes The Armageddon Expo 2011. Featuring many well known actors, artists and writers – such as Ana’s daughter in V and Dr. Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis – as well as many great events, such as the cosplay meet and greet, as well as guest panels, it looks to be a great weekend for all in attendance.
And now it’s competition time! Get ready everyone!
We have, within our power, one double guest pass to give away to one very lucky winner! That means that not only will you be able to attend the event, but also one other person of your choosing! Now onto the rules!
The best answer, or the answer that will be randomly chosen by factors unbeknown to even myself, to the following question shall be heralded the winner of this competition. Your answers should placed within the comment section below!

Just remember that you only have till the end of the week Friday (18th Feb – AU) to enter and the winner will be chosen and announced on Sunday.

If you have gotten a chance to play Space Invaders: Infinity Gene which released last year, you may have noticed that one of the most impressive aspects of the arcade title was the fast paced soundtrack. Fans of Infinity Gene can go ahead and get their music devices ready though as the full soundtrack has now been listed for pre-order. The only thing is, as of now only Amazon of Japan have it available but fear not, as I have a feeling Taito might be planning a wider release very soon.
Tracks Include:
1. Ancestor
2. Selection Complete
3. Survival Complete
4. Mutation Complete
5. Reproduce Complete
6. Manipulate Complete
7. Strategy Complete
8. Program Complete
9. Lifegame Complete
10. Great Mother
11. Child
12. Shadow
13. Anima
14. Hero
15. Devi
16. Trickster
17. Wise Old Man
18. Persona
19. Animus
20. Scarecrow
21. Unconscious
22. Strategic Deletion
23. I CAN NOT APE
24. BEFORE TEN ORB
25. BURN ALT AIR
Keep in mind that many of these tracks have never been released before outside of promotions. I personally cannot wait to blast the tunes to this one, as it looks to be jam-packed full of the best beats from Infinity Gene. As I mentioned, this is only available for pre-order in Japan at the moment, but I would keep an eye out on Amazon (and our very own Capsule Computers Store) as we could see this soundtrack cross shores any day now.
Fans of the Transformers games should be happy to hear that the latest movie from Michael Bay will also be getting a movie tie-in just like the past two movies. Of course this is either good news or bad news depending on how much you liked these games in the past. But one thing is different this time around. Beyond the new setting of course. There is something called a Stealth Force mode of play which, as you can see below, will leave your Transformer in car mode but also have a number of weapons at its disposal to help destroy your enemies.
High Moon Studios who made Transformers: War for Cybertron will be returning to make Dark of the Moon and will be releasing it for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with these versions taking place before the events of the film. Now the Wii and DS and eventual 3DS versions of the game will be made by Behaviour Interactive and they are expected to be released alongside the movie when it comes out in July.
If you are a connoisseur of fine old video games then you may have downloaded a lot of old PlayStation 1 games on the PSN already. Now with the Xperia Play announced you may have thought that you were going to be able to transfer all of your already bought PS1 games right into your brand new smartphone. But think again.
It turns out that Sony Ericsson has made it so that the Xperia Play will require you to re-purchase any content that you have already bought. Nathan Vautier spoke out about this feature saying “Xperia Play owners will have to repurchase the games, so it’s not totally integrated.” This is a pretty cheap move as far as content supply goes. Sure the games may not cost as much as your usual retail game but it still could have been handled better so that loyal fans wouldn’t have to pay twice for the content they already own.
