Dream Trigger 3D’s new trailer is Dazzling..

Over at this year’s GDC, a new trailer was shown for D3Publisher’s upcoming 3DS title, Dream Trigger 3D. Now if you are unfamiliar with Dream Trigger, it is an original arcade shooter which is looking to take full advantage of the handheld’s 3D aspects with plenty of colors and 3D explosions to keep your eyes busy. Dream Trigger 3D is also offering plenty of fan-service to the hardcore arcade shooter fans out there as the game looks to be as fun to play as it is to look at with over 50 varied stages.

The trailer shows the full game in action, of course as best as it can anyway since it cannot show the true 3D experience it will offer, but in my opinion this title is giving me a full vibe of the PS2/XBLA title, REZ, and that is definitely a good thing. I was actually hoping that an arcade shooter would join the system, and this one just seems to fit in perfectly in the 3D world. Dream Trigger 3D may be the cream of the crop of this year’s 3DS titles when it comes to visuals without a doubt. Check out the trailer in full below for yourself, and we will continue to bring you news on this title as more information comes forward.

Next Week’s Rockband Tracks are Bringing Depeche Mode

Probably most famous from all the references to them in the Left 4 Dead series (or maybe that is just me); their music is coming to Rock Band. Depeche Mode is here, and with 3 brand new songs for you to play (Brand New for Rock Band At Least). Oh yeah, and there is also one other song that I have literally never even heard of (but maybe that is because I don’t get out much).

Check out the songs below. (I seem to have used a lot of parenthesis in this post…)

Depeche Mode Pack 01 – 440 Microsoft Points

  • Depeche Mode – “Never Let Me Down Again”
  • Depeche Mode – “Personal Jesus” *
  • Depeche Mode – “Policy of Truth”

Single Track – 160 Microsoft Points

  • Death Cab For Cutie – “I Will Possess Your Heart”

(All tracks are original master recordings) <—- MORE PARENTHESIS!!

*160 Microsoft Points each. X = 80 Microsoft Points per track for a Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

They will be on the Xbox Live Marketplace from March 8th (WOOT!).

Double Dragon available on iPhone now!

Are you ready to play a legend as far as side scrolling brawlers go? Because Double Dragon is now available on the iTunes store for purchase and can be played on your iPhone. For those that are to young to remember Double Dragon released in 1987 in Arcades worldwide and then in 1988 made its jump to home consoles where it took the brawler genre to new level. But today Double Dragon has been remade and features brand new artwork, music and extras.

Players will take control of either Jimmy or Billy as they try to save Marian who has been taken hostage by the Black Warriors. To save Marian they must either give up their sacred Sousetsuken scrolls or take her back by force. Guess which option they chose? Some of the newer features added besides a completely redone audio and visual experience are the control scheme which allows easy combo attacks, new attacks, bosses, in-game achievements and hidden characters to unlock. Also players can link their iPhone to their friends via Bluetooth so they can take down the Black Warriors together. At the current moment Double Dragon is on the App Store for $3.99 as promotional sale, if you wait too long however you will have to pay the $7.99 price instead.

Yakuza 4 only slightly edited for U.S. release

Looks like Yakuza 4 will arrive on Western shores almost a hundred percent intact. This comes despite the fact that Yakuza 3 suffered quite a few cuts with entire gameplay segments being removed. Thanks to Siliconera it appears that only two things had to be removed this time around and neither of them was to avoid any potential criticisms about the content.

The two features that were cut was an Answer x Answer quiz game because the questions themselves were based on a series of text images and could not be translated without completely editing the game itself and the Opening song was changed because they could not acquire the license to use the original song in the American release. Despite that fact all other aspects of the game are unchanged.

GAME set to take pre-orders for used games

In a move that will leave publishers and anti-used-game activists quite stunned, UK used game retailer GAME will soon begin offering a pre-order service for pre-owned games that are coming out in the future. This news comes from MCV and apparently the service is currently only in a trial mode which allows users of GAME.co.uk to pre-order used versions of Crysis 2, Homefront, Dragon Age II, Shift 2: Unleashed and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12.

This service means that rather than being able reserve a copy of the game when it comes out, you instead reserve the first used game sold back to GAME. These used games will not be given out until a week after the new version’s release date and each are currently priced at £33.99. This move is questionable at best but if it does turn out to be fruitful then the Used game market will get a new tool in its arsenal.

Gears of War 3 beta starts April 18th for Bulletstorm owners; April 25th for Gamestop pre-order

It looks like purchasers of Bulletstorm’s Epic Edition are feeling less and less special every day because it was just announced by Epic and GameStop themselves that if you pre-order the game from their company you will be able to gain access to the Gears of War 3 beta on April 25th. Sure this is a week later than those who bought Bulletstorm but how many people bought Bullestorm thinking it was their only way into the beta, only to find out this information after the fact.

With this announcement also comes a full list of unlockable content that is obtainable in the Gears of War 3 Beta and can be used in the full game after it comes out. Catch the full list below and remember you only have three weeks to get a hold of your golden chainsaws.

Play Daft Punk on your keyboard

Specifically, Harder Better Faster Stronger.  This is actually pretty cool, it’s a small website with a virtual keyboard up on the screen that allows you to play “Harder Better Faster Stronger” by either pressing the buttons on the screen or pressing the keys on your keyboard.  For those who haven’t heard the song, it’s pretty great and simple to play since it’s only made up for 16 words.  Anyways, give this a try, it’s good for killing a few minutes and it’s an awesome song to boot.

Double XP all weekend on CoD: Black Ops

If you haven’t hit that 15th level of prestige yet then now is your chance to get yourself even closer to a gold gun and a colored clan tag because as of right now until March 7th (Monday) there will be double XP for everything that you do in Call of Duty: Black Ops. This is regardless of whether or not you purchased the First Strike map pack.

This double XP weekend coincides with the fact that the First Strike map pack is now available for the PC and the PS3 and also marks the second time that Xbox 360 users have a chance for have double XP. Regardless of this fact it certainly seems like a lot more people will be getting shot this weekend by an M16 across the map.

NGP in development since 2008

Apparently the NGP has been under development since the start of 2008. This news comes from Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida himself as he makes a few statements about the development process for the Next Generation Portable. This matches the same time rumors circulated on the internet that Sony was working on a new handheld.

Yoshida also explained that the reason for the lack of first party games being released for the PSP was because Sony had already begun working on the NGP and felt no need to continue supporting the PSP with first party content. Since they started working on the NGP only sixteen different games had been released by Sony themselves.  This is understandable but also depressing when you think of what games could have been made if Sony still had supported the PSP with their own games.
