Go Behind the Scenes of Hunted: The Demon’s Forge with Lucy Lawless..

I can’t even begin to tell you my history of being a fan of all things Xena. I know it is a bit nerdish, but even though the show has been over for nearly ten years I seem to always follow the cast’s projects in just about every area. Lucy Lawless of course was Xena, so knowing that she will be lending her vocal talents as Seraphine in Hunted: The Demon’s Forge gets me pretty excited to say the least. This of course is Lucy Lawless’ first major video game role, and today a new video was released which takes players behind the scenes with not just Lawless, but the development team of the game.

In the clip, the team explains quite a bit about the plot and touch up a bit about how the Mayan mythology shaped this tale and the characters’ motives in the game. Lucy Lawless of course is also very prominent in this trailer as well as she introduces players’ to her character Seraphine who guides and persuades the main characters to do her bidding. I am already a pretty big fan of fantasy and hack & slash titles, but I must say that Bethesda and InXile have captured my interest pretty heavily with Hunted as it seems to offer not only an interesting storyline and a vivid world to explore, but also an addictive gameplay system. Check out the trailer for yourself below and let us know what you think in the comment section. Hunted hits the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on May 31st.

Gamestop List Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures for September Release..

Mama looks to be preparing for quite a busy year…at least according to Gamestop that is. While Cooking Mama 4 has still not officially been officially announced by Majesco, we recently seen a listing on Gamestop.com show that Mama will be making her return to the kitchen on the 3DS. Now however it seems like Mama will also be packing it up and going outdoors this year as well as the retailer have now listed Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures with a release date of September 1st.

What makes this Mama title different from the previously revealed is that Camping Mama has been listed for the Nintendo DS. Right now however there are no details of how the actual game would work, but I would imagine the mini-games will include such activities as chopping firewood, setting up tents, ect. This is just speculation of course but you get the idea. I’m sure Majesco will chime in soon enough share some info on Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures and when that happens, we will be sure to fill you in on what this latest adventure for Mama truly holds.

Thor Prepares for battle in new Trailer…

With the date of Sega’s Thor: God of Thunder moved up to April 29th for Europe and May 3rd for the states, Thor literally is just hours away from hitting consoles. With that, Sega have now released a new trailer for the game based upon the movie which shows our hero preparing for battle. Now this trailer is a bit different from the actual gameplay trailers we have seen as it is fully CG-ified and features a surprisingly high presentation value while Thor grabs his hammer and evil rises from the depths.

The thing that makes me think that Thor will be quite different from other standard movie to video-game fare is that Sega have mainly been focusing on showing off gameplay in trailers rather than CG and this trailer is just about the only exception we have seen so far, so Thor very well could be quite a polished, action packed experience. We will have our own review coming soon enough though so stay tuned for that and check out this new trailer below. Thor: God of Thunder will be available of course for the Nintendo DS, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and then the 3DS later this year.

Beyonce sued in multi-million dollar video game suit

When you have a Grammy Award winner backed to make a video game with you, you know you have hit it big.

However, a video game developer is suing singer Beyoncé for not playing fair in a deal for a game structured around her.

Gate Five LLC sued the multi-award winning singer in a lawsuit insisting she made a lucrative agreement in June last year for a game called “Starpower: Beyoncé”, then demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.

The lawsuit describes Beyoncé’s manoeuvring drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five’s business. Gate Five says it lost its $US7 million investment in the venture and more than $US100 million in potential profits. Seventy people lost their job.

Her publicist and the company’s lawyer didn’t immediately respond to inquiries.  But we’ll keep you update 😉

Brink releases third video in GET SMART series

With the release of Brink less than two weeks away, Bethesda Softworks have released the third video in their GET SMART series. The GET SMART series covers all of the information players hope to know about how to play the game, and the third installment is no different; this time Bethesda has revealed just how general gameplay will work.

The video covers navigation in the game, and reveals different sizes of characters (heavy, medium, light) and their movement styles. Character’s strengths and weaknesses are no longer limited to their abilities: heavier types will move slower, while light types can run fast and climb ledges for a quick getaway. It also looks at health, combat, and buffs.

Needless to say, this game looks great and the GET SMART series is doing an awesome job of covering all the information about Brink that players will need to know before purchasing. Check out the third GET SMART video below. Brink releases on May 12th in Australia and May 13th in New Zealand.

Binary Domain set for 2012 release; gameplay trailer revealed

Binary Domain was announced back at the end of 2010 but that was the last time we had seen anything about the futuristic shooter. That is until now because Sega has not only confirmed that Binary Domain will be released early 2012 but also they have released a new trailer for the game that shows actual gameplay.

The title is being created by Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi players will take control of a squad of humans that will be doing battle against the machines in Tokyo 2080. The game looks actually quite impressive though it seems that it will center around cover based combat similar to what you would find in Gears of War. Also may I say that the robots disguised as humans certainly gives off a major Terminator feel.

First Bloodrayne: Betrayal screenshot is full of blood but no rayne

We haven’t seen much of Bloodrayne: Betrayal ever since it was announced last month. There has been few details and even fewer actual images of the game and how it will look. That is until Majesco decided to update their Facebook page with a screenshotshowing an explosion of blood and guys in fancy suits being killed. One thing that isn’t seen however is Rayne herself besides a rough pixelation.

The reason for this pixelation was actually censorship from the company themselves because they are saving the new character design for a later announcement.  From what we can make out on the character she will still have her blood red hair but besides that there is little be seen. You can check out their Facebook page if you wish to, but there is nothing to see at the moment besides the same teaser trailer we’ve already seen.
