Yoda and Company get the Stop Motion Treatment…

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars has been out for a couple of months, adding yet another chapter into the growing franchise. Today LucasArts released a small treat for fans as Youtube animator Jordan Johnson, aka FancyPants, has created a new trailer for the game using stop motion animation with the Lego-counterparts inspired by the series.

Of course we all know that stop-motion animation is a tricky and tedious task and requires more patience than I will ever have, so to give a bit more insight on how this trailer came to be, a “Making of” clip was also released which follows Johnson as he creates animations for the characters, frame by frame. Quite an interesting clip and if you have ever been curious to see how stop motion works, I highly recommend you check it out below as well as the finished product which turned out to be a spectacular production.

Nintendo Offering Live E3 Coverage Online…

For those who cannot attend E3 to see just what Nintendo’s anticipated console reveal will be, you are now covered as Nintendo are now offering live streaming coverage of the full presentation at http://e3.nintendo.com.

I know “Project Cafe” will surely top the list of what Nintendo have up their sleeve, but I also predict quite a bit of news on 3DS, Wii, and DS titles for the future, so Nintendo could very well steal the show. Live coverage begins 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 7, and afterwards additional Nintendo Network coverage, such as interviews, game trailers and special video segments will be readily available on the site. The Nintendo Channel on the Wii will also have “exclusive content” released on the day of the event as well. Now mark your calenders and get ready, as this will surely be an event not to miss.

Gears of War 3 Lancer replic….. *drool*

There are few things better in life than stabbing aliens with a knife.  When that knife is attached to a gun, well, then it is just unthinkably amazing.  Thankfully,  REALLY THANKFULLY, Epic Games gave us that experience.  Now, NECA has kindly provided us with a replica of the knife-gun, the Retro Lancer.

With an up to scale measurement of  3.5 feet in length, the lovely, uh, toy, plays sound when a trigger is pulled.

In North America, these omgIfreakinwant are exclusive to GameStop and can be obtained as a bundle with the game or a standalone item. Get it starting Spetember 13.  Unfortunately, MasterAbbott’s burgeoning, creepy excitement will have to be reined in.  No plans for international distribution have been revealed as of yet. Don’t rule it out quite yet though.  Apparently, these deals just need to be hammered out.

F.E.A.R 3 New Multiplayer Mode

Set to release on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PC in 22 June (after a disappointing delay), F.E.A.R. 3 is introducing co-op play that hope to evolves the franchise, as well as varying multi-player modes.

Introducing F.E.A.R. 3’s “Soul King” multiplayer mode (see video below) In this mode, considered the most competitive multiplayer mode in the game, the goal is to harvest the most number of souls before the timer runs out. You’ll start as a spectre, capable of possessing enemies to gain the skills and weapons of the body they inhabit, which sounds trippy. While possessing a body, players will be able to collect souls through killing enemies, however, bots will involved as well to make things more difficult. This adds onto the other three modes named F**cking run, Soul Survivor and contractions, I like the first name – it’s just so blunt.

AR! Pirates in App Store 27th May

AR matey! There be a new game about to set sail in the App store on 27th May. I should explain, AR isn’t just my poor attempt to use pirate slang, it stands for Augmented Reality. Developed by Augmented Reality specialist, Optricks Media, and published by Special Move Games, AR! Pirates is a new and innovative first-person shooter that layers virtual elements over the real world. AR! Pirates pits you against fleets of pirate galleons who have set sail though the real world in order to steal your captains treasure. Shoot the marauding ships and dodge their attacks by moving your iPhone to gain treasure and power ups.

Nintendo Debuts First Trailer for Wii Play: Motion..

Have you ever had the urge to stack ice cream as tall as a skyscraper, shoot alien spacecrafts, or pull a Mary Poppins and jump into the wind with an umbrella? If you answered yes then you should be elated to know that Nintendo have officially released a trailer for the upcoming Wii Play: Motion.

I know what a lot of you are thinking. “Another PARTY game on the WII!!!!??”. I kind of had that opinion as well, but the clip released today actually makes the game look pretty decent. Using your Mii, players will compete in mini-games to best their competitors scores in several activities. Oddly enough, I can picture myself playing this title as it seems be just a simple game that will be easy to pick up and play, much like the first Wii Play. Wii Play: Motion launches next month but for now you can check out the trailer below and give us your thoughts in the comments section.

Modern Warfare 3 reveal trailer

Playable character Frost

Its finally here! After months of rumours, leaks and teasers, the official Modern Warfare 3 trailer has been released during the NBA Finals in the United States overnight.

The trailer certainly doesn’t disappoint, showcasing an impressive and epic gameplay trailer. Featuring battles from the four super countries around the world America, England, Germany and France, the trailer will certainly be a focal point until Infinity Ward releases more during E3 in June.

The leaked storyline, however is yet to be confirmed. Infinity Ward has reported they will conduct investigations on the staff member who released the plot before the proposed date.

The release date of 8 November worldwide has been confirmed by Sledgehammer.

Dead Island receives 11 minute gameplay walkthrough

Last week we were treated to a small teaser for Dead Island. We saw a very small amount of the zombies in motion during actual gameplay but we didn’t see legitimate gameplay from a player’s perspective. Today Techland has released an 11 minute long gameplay video that walks players through the quest To Kill Time.

The video is voiced over by Vincent Kummer, brand manager for Dead Island. In the video released by Gametrailers we are shown off a number of features, including weapon customization, combat, the quest system and even a few achievements are hinted at as we see progress meters appear regularly throughout the video. Dead Island is certainly a great looking title from what we have seen so far and hopefully we’ll see much more as the title is still set to be released August 1st for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Deathsmiles 2X available in Mexico and Canada on Tuesday

Now last week Deathsmiles 2X was released in North America, or at least parts of North America. The game ended up being only available to those in the United States and the rest of the country was left in the dark. Over the weekend we learned that Cave was working with Microsoft in order to release the game to both Canada and Mexico and clear up the confusion.

It seems that confusion must have been cleared up because over on the Cave blog Makoto Asada has apologized to fans on the delay but has said that the game will be available tomorrow May 24th to Mexico and Canada. There was no word as to what the actual problem was with the release but it is good to see that the delay was quite short and that Cave’s first direct to Games on Demand release went off without much of a hitch.
