Bleach: Soul Resurrección boxart revealed

Back in the middle of May we learned that NIS America would be localizing the next Bleach game to be arriving in North America. The interesting thing about this game, is that it hasn’t even been released in Japan yet. Now Japanese gamers won’t have to wait as long we will have to wait to play the game, as it will be released June 23rd in Japan, but in a very quick localization turn around, NIS America will have Bleach: Soul Resurrección ready for North America in August.

Today NIS America released the box art for the game which will only be available on the PlayStation 3 As you can see in the box art below it features Ichigo Kurosaki with his Bankai activated. Long time followers of the series may notice that Ichigo’s hair is a bit longer than usual in that picture, and I’m sure that we know why that is. But for everyone else, they’ll have to play the game when it arrives this August.

Man who uploaded Bakuman Anime has been arrested

On May 31st, a japanese office worker aged 32 was arrested on suspicion of uploading an episode of the Bakuman anime series to the internet. In what seems to be a continued crack-down by Japanese police on illegal file-sharing, the man was apprehended and is currently being questioned regarding other crimes police believe he has committed, after discovering thousands of other anime stored on his PC.

This however isn’t the first time someone has been charged for such a crime as the Japanese police have previously arrested and charged several other offenders in recent history such as the 51 year old man who uploaded music videos for Japanese boy band “Arashi” to youtube, without permission of the copyright holders.

It just goes to show, illegal distribution crimes don’t pay. They seriously don’t pay. So the question now is, how are these blokes gonna foot the fine? They should have picked a more profitable crime it seems.

The Rockstar Pass is priced at $14.45 on the Playstation Network, or 800 points on XboxLIVE until June 13, and grants gamers access to seven pieces of DLC. While the DLC isn’t all available yet, purchasing the pass means you won’t have to pay per case, and instead can access all content for free as soon as it’s released.

Rockstar have announced a great lineup for L.A. Noire’s DLC, and players will be able to purchase the DLC that was initially only included as a pre-order bonus. We’ve included the list of DLC which is available with the Rockstar Pass, and also check out the video below released to demonstrate the L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass.

The Chicago Piano Machine Gun (Free)

The Chicago Piano, used by both law enforcement officers and criminals, was favored for its reliability, ergonomics, compact size, large 45-round cartridge, and high rate of automatic fire. This bonus weapon will be stored in the trunk of Detective Cole Phelps’ car throughout L.A. Noire, ensuring that extra firepower is always close at hand.

The Broderick Detective Suit ($1.75 PSN / 80 MS Points / Free with Rockstar Pass)

The Broderick unlockable suit boosts Cole Phelps’ fist-fighting abilities and resilience to damage. Throughout L.A. Noire, Phelps will inevitably encounter suspects or persons of interest who prove resistant to arrest. Phelps’ hand-to-hand fighting skills could be called into action in these cases and the Broderick suit, which enhances his fighting abilities, will help give Cole the edge in making that collar.

The Sharpshooter Detective Suit ($1.75 PSN / 80 MS Points / Free with Rockstar Pass)

The Sharpshooter unlockable suit enhances your aim with rifles and pistols. Always a worst case scenario for any Detective working a case, there are inevitably occasions when pursuing or confronting a suspect escalates to gunfire. In these shootout situations, the Sharpshooter suit gives Cole extra aiming precision to take criminals down.

The Badge Pursuit Challenge ($3.45 PSN / 160 MS Points / Free with Rockstar Pass)

Hidden around L.A. Noire’s beautiful recreation of 1947 Los Angeles are 20 police badges to find and collect. Find all 20 of these badges to unlock the dapper Button Man Detective suit which provides extra ammo for all weapons. Each badge also provides 5 additional XP which will help further unlock Intuition Points – special credits that can be used to give Phelps a key investigative insight when he needs it most.

The Naked City Vice Case ($6.95 PSN / 320 MS Points / Free with Rockstar Pass)

Julia Randall, a stunning young fashion model with the world at her feet, is found dead, floating in her own bathtub. To the Homicide Squad it looks like a textbook society suicide – a glamorous life come to a nasty end – but coroner Malcolm Carruthers remains unconvinced. It falls to Detectives Phelps and Earle to work the scene, and determine which of Miss Randall’s many vices finally killed her.

A Slip of the Tongue Traffic Case ($6.95 PSN / 320 MS Points / Free with Rockstar Pass)

When a suspect caught behind the wheel of a stolen car claims to have bought the vehicle fair and square, Detectives Phelps and Bekowsky are unimpressed. When he produces a pink slip and bill of sale as proof, they sit up and take notice. There follows an investigation that will throw up bumbling car thieves, double talking auto dealers, and a theft racket that stretches across Los Angeles and the state line.

Elise Rigg’s SSX trailer

The characters in SSX may be getting a make over, as evidenced by this new trailer of Elise Riggs, but their personalities seem to have remained intact.  Showing off her moves and backstory in comic book form, Elise is as tough as she always was.  Elise can jump out of helicopters, snowboard down mountains and look pretty awesome all the while.  Set to a great soundtrack, this video will only increase everyone’s excitement for the game.

Who’s ready to pound the mountain now?  I know I am and I can’t wait to see what Electronic Arts will show off at E3 for the game.

Turtle Beach launching 2 new headsets at E3 2011

Turtle Beach, fresh off the critical success of the PX5 Headset, is now on their way to even more glory.  Unveiling two new headsets at E3, it is quite clear that Turtle Beach is a company that will not stop innovating for their customers.

The Turtle Beach Ear Force PX3 Programmable Wireless Gaming Headset is the PX5’s smaller cousin.  This headset is geared toward PS3 gamers, although it will sport compatibility with the Mac, PC and Xbox 360.   18 interchangeable audio presets are preloaded on the device, and additional stereo  presets will  be on the Turtle Beach website when the headset launches.  One of the coolest parts of the the PX3 is the included rechargeable battery pack, that will have a charge life of 10 hours. The PX3 also includes a “Sonic Lens with Sound Field Expander that widens or narrows the sound field to focus on specific frequencies and a Ear Guard with Blast Limiter technology, which limits the intensity of deafening sounds.”

Turtle Beach is also announcing another headset: the Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A Multi-Speaker Surround Sound Headset.  A 5.1 channel amplifier with bass enhancement, the Z6A is fully equipped with eight amplified speakers, including dual subwoofers. “Acoustically angled toward the user’s ears,” the headset allows “gamers to pinpoint critical sound cues from every direction, such as the sound of approaching footsteps, incoming enemy vehicles, or the click of someone reloading in the distance.” Promising extreme comfort and slick design, the Z6A also has quick disconnect cable and USB power, making it deal for LAN players. This headset can also be used with the Xbox 360, provided a special cable is bought.

“We are the category leader because we are the only headset maker solely focused on gamers’ unique audio needs,” said Carmine Bonanno, President and CEO of Turtle Beach. We redefined what a gaming headset could do when we introduced the PX5 earlier this year.  One message we have heard from gamers load and clear is that they want to control their gaming experience as much as possible. The PX3 allows us to bring many of the PX5’s amazing innovations to an even broader audience, while the Z6A offers PC gamers a competitive edge with a flexible multi-driver surround sound experience that provides the comfort needed for long gaming sessions.”

Captain America: Super Soldier Gets a nice Pre-Order Incentive…

With the new Captain America movie hitting theaters this summer, a game is (of course) planned to release right alongside the flick. Now before you let out that collective sigh, you should know that Sega have enlisted Next Level Games (developers of 2009’s Punch-Out and Super Mario Strikers for the Gamecube), to develop Captain America: Super Soldier, which will be a first-person action title. Those who place a pre-order for the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of Super Soldier at Gamestop will receive an “Ultimates” DLC pack.

The pack includes:

  • Ultimates 1942 Captain America costume
  • The “Ballroom Blitz” Challenge Mode Map
  • Early in-game access to Cap’s “Weaponize” ability

Not a bad incentive at all and honestly, Captain America: Super Soldier is shaping up to be a pretty solid experience. I didn’t care for Thor to be honest, which was released earlier in the year, but judging from the experience involved behind Super Soldier, we could very well see another “War for Cybertron” (another title that was developed by Next Level) type of release here. Check out the nice pre-order screenshots below and we will keep you updated on Captain America: Super Soldier as the July 19th release date looms closer.

Naughty Dog developers talk multiplayer

While we all wait excitedly for the release of Uncharted 3, Naughty Dog developers keep on teasing us with new information and screenshots. Now via the official Playstation blog, they talk more about the multiplayer aspect and amazing amount of detail portrayed throughout the game.

Standing out is the immense array of character and item mods now available to players. This includes weapon and gun mods as well as being able to create customised heroes and villains. In short the game has taken on a very personal feel to it with a concentration on social networking. Players can choose allies to fight alongside from their Facebook friends and then post their epic battles on Facebook and YouTube for others to be amazed at.

Uncharted 3 beta begins on 28th June for PSN+ subscribers and those with special Infamous 2 copies. Full access to the multiplayer beta will begin on 5th July for regular Playstation network users.

And without further ado, a few words from Naughty Dogs game developers

The Lab has been setup by Naughty Dog to host specific multiplayer based games that can be used for research and to add new features and updates to Uncharted 2 and 3. Game director Justin Richmond explains how Naughty Dog wants “to do more of that kind of thing with Uncharted 3. We have the ability to get feedback from fans and we want to maintain that dialogue”. Sounds like a pretty smart thing to do in an era where gamers are demanding more and more from developers.

Richmond goes on to explain how the technology they used for 3D rendering allowed them to implement it to support a splitscreen format. While he makes it sound simple he also makes sure not to downplay the exceptional work of his team in making it all happen seamlessly.

Uncharted 3’s splitscreen multiplayer will also allow players to sign in from dual PSN account, eliminating the need for both players to be on the same account to play together.

Every level in Uncharted 3’s multiplayer mode will feature some kind of dramatic event similar to that found in Uncharted 2’s train wreck scene which reveals an RPG. Feedback has shown how much people enjoyed this change of pace and innovation so the team has decided to implement much more variation in gameplay such as Airstrips finale and the Chateaus burning to reveal secrets.

Treasure collection has been modified to allow buddies to collect treasure for you, which is sorted into sets giving players items and mods when a set has been collected.

Richmond explains how the climbing element of the game which left players feeling like sitting ducks sometimes in Uncharted 2 multiplayer has been completely revamped. It has become much more tactical with players having to wait for the right time to either jump up or pull down enemies.

The Uncharted 3 feature will allow full streaming to Facebook and YouTube as well as being able to stream videos into the engine. Players will be able to watch vids while waiting for games to load.

Richmond also tells how high level players will benefit from many changes within the new game. He comments that the title is “much deeper”. Boosters can be levelled up through use and players can buy potent Paid boosters giving them a substantial advantage over the competition. He goes on to say that the “rankings system plays into (the concept), with the higher ranking players having more options available to them. It’s a far more interesting system…”

Personally I can’t wait for this one as despite the hype have only just got into Uncharted 2 and was nothing but impressed from every aspect of the title.

Sonic Generations Detailed for the 3DS…

With the recent announcement of a 3DS version on the way for Sonic Generations, Sega have decided to announce what players can expect from the portable version of the game. The 3DS version of Generations will feature “stereoscopic 3D levels”, developed specifically for the handheld as well as an unlockable ‘Special Stage’ that will allow for players to become “immersed in Sonic’s world”. The latest bit of news doesn’t really go into much detail about this special stage, so that is still a question that will probably answered at E3.

“Sonic Generations for Nintendo 3DS will combine brand new technology and twenty years of Sonic the Hedgehog videogame heritage” commented David Corless, Global Brand Director for Sonic. “Couple this with the ability to play as both Classic and Modern Sonic and you have the perfect gaming celebration for the landmark anniversary of our much loved mascot”

A streetpass feature for the game was also announced, allowing for players to collect new content and unlock bonus goodies each time they pass another owner of the game. Multi-player has also been added which will allow for two players to battle it out in a versus mode throughout many famous levels of the franchise. As far as story goes, the 3DS version of Sonic Generations will incorporate the same plot as it’s console brethren, with Sonic being pulled back in time due to mysterious power and of course meeting up with the classic and pudgier version of himself.

Next week Sega will without a doubt have the game on display at E3, so check back as when we learn even more for Sonic’s big 3DS debut, we will be sure to keep you up to date. Hopefully the “PC” version will also be detailed as well, so it will certainly be interesting to see what Sega have to say on that release’s behalf as well.
