If you desperately wanted to go the iHeartRadio music festival and were unable to get tickets, you’ll be pleased to know that Xbox Live will be streaming the entire event in HD. All Silver and Gold members of Xbox Live can “attend” the festival through a special tab on the Xbox Dashboard this Friday through Saturday. Although it probably won’t be the same as actually going to the MGM Grand Vegas, you’ll still be able to catch Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Jane’s Addiction, Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, The Black Eyed Peas, Steven Tyler, Nicki Minaj and others performing live right in your own living room. Plus, you won’t even have to get dressed. Talk about service! Make sure to thank Microsoft the next time you can.
The Uncharted series will be heading to a new form of media this fall. The first book based on the stand out franchise, titled “Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth,” is launching on October 4. Published by Del Ray, the book will see Nathan Drake heading to the Big Apple on an adventure that has nothing to do with any of the games.
On the other hand, a comic book series will be starting on November 30 that sends Mr. Drake on an adventure to the center of the Earth. DC Comics will be releasing this comic.
Robot Entertainment will release their new game, Orcs Must Die, on the Xbox Live Arcade and PC in October. Specifically, the XBLA release date is 10/5 and the PC version of the game launches on 10/12. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t appear to be hitting the PS3 anytime soon.
Featuring evil Orcs, this game tasks you to build whimsical traps to defend yourself. In addition, 4 player coop allows you strategically defeat the little maniacs while having a lot of fun.
All in all, this game looks solid. We can’t wait to get our hands on it. Be sure to leave us a comment below with your opinion of the game.
To complement the Lego Ninjago toyline and animated series, the developers behind Lego Universe have been hard at work adding a huge new expansion to their game. And now, the time has come for you reap the rewards of that work. Called the “biggest day for LEGO Universe since launch” the Ninjago expansion adds over new 100 missions in addition to a ton of other new items and gameplay elements. Plus, the level cap for the game has been raised to 45.
“LEGO devotees are already closely connected to the world of Ninjago thanks to the toys and the film Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu,” explains Jordan Itkowitz, Design Director of LEGO Universe. “With this new addition to the LEGO Universe family of worlds, we’re giving our players free reign to bring their creations to life in a world they already know and love.”
Official Press Release:
LEGO® Universe, the massively multiplayer online game, is bringing the popular LEGO Ninjago toy line to life as Ninjago enters the dojo with an all-new world full of adventures! Fans of the Ninjago LEGO sets and the Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu film will instantly recognize many of the characters of the new Ninjago-themed world coming to LEGO Universe.
The Ninjago Monastery is under attack by a Skeleton army led by the evil Lord Garmadon, and it looks like they’re after one thing and one thing only—well, make that four things—the Four Weapons of Spinjitzu. The Weapons of Spinjitzu will transform minifigures into a whirling tornado of Earth, Lightning, Ice or Fire! It will be up to players to experiment with and master each type of Spinjitzu to protect the weapons and the Ninjago Monastery in one of the biggest worlds yet in LEGO Universe as they take on the hordes of Bone Wolves and Skeleton Mad Scientists!
Players will also be able to impede the Skeletons’ attack of the Monastery at Ninjago Battlefield by launching volleys of Imagination-tipped arrows, surprising the Skeletons with a fire-breathing Dragon-in-the-Box, or even flinging their minifigure to safety by rebuilding a massive Skeleton Catapult to claim total victory over the ol’ boneheads.
In this new addition to the game, players can look forward to a total of over one hundred new missions, both familiar and fresh new Ninjago faces, and the level cap will be raised to 45! Premium members of LEGO Universe will have unlimited free access to the hundreds of new missions and adventures in the most massive LEGO Universe expansion to date!
In an all-new instance, players can also team up with three fellow ninjas to take on Frakjaw in a heated battle in the Fire Shrine, and protect the Sword of Fire from his evil clutches in this Ninjas vs Skeletons fight.
Despite all the unrest going on in the world, the rest of Ninjago is much more peaceful. Players can stroll through the Monastery Courtyard to meet new and old friends, solve puzzles in the idyllic Four Gardens of Spinjitzu to claim protective Dragon relics, or complete challenges and learn new skills in the Four Dojo of Spinjitzu.
The new weapons, eight new skeletons to fight, and tons of new gear, supplies and cool mysteries to solve create a complex and imaginative world for players to explore. Now the only remaining question is, do you have what it takes to master Spinjitzu and defeat the bone-chilling Skeleton Army?
Over a week ago now, Capcom released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations which introduced us to Rachel. As I mentioned then, Rachel looked to be a whole new character for the series and seemed to play a pivotal role in the upcoming 3DS title. Capcom have now however released an extended version of the trailer, which clears things up on this new character’s involvement.
Rachel seems to have be a survivor that gets killed somewhere near the beginning of the game. Yes, that means there is a lot of doubt now when it comes to this new addition even being playable. Say what you want about the whole sex appeal issue, but I really thought Rachel made an interesting protagonist for the series as she was so petrified in the clip. I know Resident Evil features “tougher” protagonists, but fear makes a survival horror game tick and this chick really captured that role well.
Oh well, we do at least see HUNK speaking to Chris at the end of this new trailer so that will be interesting to see how that plays out (and the game overall still looks fantastic), but those who were in the “Rachel” fanclub like myself can now know that she is simply another casualty. Watch the lengthy new clip below, as it still is pretty exciting and is sure to get fans pumped about Revelations.
Rotastic from Focus Home Interactive has arrived on the Xbox Live Marketplace today for the price of 800 Microsoft Points. So, to help you decide whether it’s worth picking up, Focus Home Interactive have released a launch trailer, giving an indication as to what the gameplay is like.
The Xbox Live Arcade game aims to be accessible and fun for all with a one-button mechanic. Navigating each course is quite simple: simply press any button to hook your rope to the nearest anchor point, spin around, gather momentum and release the button to fly from point to point. Almost 70 levels across 7 worlds aim to make the gameplay gradually more complex to offer a challenge once you get the hang of it, and replayability is a selling point as the score-based game asks whether you have it in you to earn the ‘gold helmet’ for each course.
Rotastic releases today on Xbox Live Arcade. The game will release on PlayStation Network and for download on PC beginning 2012.

If it goes right, it could be a love letter to fans of the old Cartoon Network programmes, featuring beloved characters from classic cartoons like the Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack and Dexter alongside recent entries like Ben 10. If it goes wrong, it could tarnish our perception of the characters (except Ben 10, who has appeared in enough crummy games for people to stop caring), and it’ll be punch-time for the California-based developers.
Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion is scheduled for European release on Nintendo 3DS on 18th November.
New on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network is a free demo of 2K Sports’ upcoming NBA 2K12. The demo pits the Miami Heat against the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of the 2011 NBA Finals, allowing players to try out the game ahead of its October 7th release.
New features include a post play system for full 360-degree player movement to dominate the paint, total shot stick control for more intuitive offensive moves, and visual improvements like with the broadcast-style highlight reels before each match.
NBA 2K12 also sets about to settle disputes regarding the greatest players, featuring the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Julius Irving in the line-up who are able to play alongside the modern-day squads in an attempt to “End the Debate”.

Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have confirmed that the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 videogame will be available in the UK on 18th November for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS handheld systems, and Windows PC.
