A new champion approaches… Darius

The Hand of Noxus is a deadly one indeed, and the Fields of Justice should keep an eye always locked on him. Darius gained his reputation by removing “weak” leaders of Noxus through means of violence. His weapons are fueled with over confidence and lust for a Noxian controlled world. Let’s delve into his abilities to investigate his ruthlessness.

Abilities

  • Hemorrhage (Passive): Darius aims his attacks strategically, causing his target to bleed. This effect stacks up to five times.
  • Decimate: Darius swings his axe in a lethal circle. Enemies struck by its blade take more damage than those struck by its shaft.
  • Crippling Strike: Darius’s next attack severs a crucial artery. As the target bleeds out, their movement and attack speeds are slowed. Crippling Strike’s cooldown is lower the more bloodied its target.
  • Apprehend: Darius hones his axe, granting him passive armor penetration. When activated, Darius sweeps up his enemies with his axe’s hook and pulls them to him.
  • Noxian Guillotine (Ultimate): Darius leaps to an enemy champion and strikes a lethal blow, dealing true damage. This damage is increased for each stack of Hemorrhage on the target. If Noxian Guillotine is a killing blow, its cooldown is refreshed.

Lore

Darius was orphaned at a young age left only to fend for himself as well as his younger brother. Upon joining the Noxian militia, Darius’s peers knew him to be relentless and bold. Darius ultimately earned his reputation by his actions on the battlefield against an overwhelming Demacian force. His captain had called for a retreat, but Darius was not one to admit defeat so easily. He took his axe in his arms, strode up next to his captain, and cleaved off the man’s head. The remaining forces were startled yet rallied to engage the oncoming Demacian forces under new command. Noxus won that day because of Darius’s mundane leadership.

Many have tried to contest the rule of Noxus, yet Darius did not want to bring down the leadership of Jericho Swain. The battle-rager saw success through Swain’s leadership and offered his services. Instead, Darius expresses his eager determination:

“A united Noxus could control the world – and would deserve to.”

Rhode Island’s governor announces 38 Studios’ MMO Copernicus

0

Video games have been around for quite some time but I do believe that this is the first time that the existence of an MMO and its release window were ever announced by the governor of a state. Today the Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee told those in attendance at a 38 Studios-related press conference that 38 Studios’ MMO which is currently being called “Project Copernicus” will be released in June of 2013.

Whether or not the MMO will actually be ready by then is anyone’s guess, especially considering the fact that 38 Studios has a $75 million loan to pay back to Rhode Island still. The company did reveal however that they wish to seek private investors to back their future game development, not state funding.

38 Studios successfully pays its monthly due to Rhode Island

You may remember yesterday that we reported that 38 Studios, the developers behind the EA published Kingdoms of Amalur, was a bit behind on a rather substantial debt owed to the state of Rhode Island. You see, the company was meant to pay Rhode Island $1.125 million by May and had failed to do so.

Well it seems that all that concern about the future of the company was for naught as WRPI reports that the governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln Chafee, announced during a press conference this afternoon that the company had paid its past due balance. The next chunk of funds they must pay the state is $2.6 million by November 1st. Hopefully the studio will be able to cover that amount and we won’t be hearing about the potential closure of 38 Studios anytime soon.

Katy Perry: Part Of Me Poster Revealed

The upcoming movie from Katy Perry and Paramount has recently had it’s trailer released an us here at Capsule Computers have an early look at the posters that you will be seeing advertising the film. This poster is an interesting glimpse at what the film may be about while also being quite enjoyable to look at.

To be completely honest, I find that Katy Perry is an incredibly attractive woman and this poster showcases this brilliantly by having her singing in-front of her mirror while also having her stage-self being reflected back at the audience. It is kind of like a look at both of Katy’s realities, with each one having its own look and feel.

Sly: Thieves In Time Sees Vita Release

In what is great news for the Playstation Vita, the fourth installment of the Sly Cooper series, Thieves in Time, will be released on Sony’s latest handheld alongside the Playstation 3 version. The Vita version will contain all of the content of the Playstation 3 version while utilising the specific Vita features as well. A concrete date for both versions is currently unknown, but the game will be released this year.

For those who decide to buy both versions of the game, then there will be the opportunity to play the save file wherever the play session is. Using cloud-based technology, players can save on the cloud and pick up wherever they are. The technology is also being used in Warrior’s Lair (formerly Ruin). The front touch screen, back touch pad and the gyroscope will all be featured in the Vita version.

The Playstation Vita needed games and Sony is going to deliver. Sly Cooper is a fan favourite of the Playstation 2 for many. This will be Sly’s first outing on a portable console, as Sly never got a game for the Playstation Portable. There are other Sony mascots who can make the jump on the Vita. If that happens, then the Vita will surely have a strong first party presence that could help in sales.

Carrier Command Gaea Mission Platforms And Release Date Announced

Carrier Command: Gaea Mission is set to be released on both the PC and the Xbox 360 systems this year on the 27th of September. The game is a combination of third and first person gameplay with a little bit of strategy taking place as well.

It takes place in an archipelago of island and the player has to do battle in vehicles and across islands to achieve victory over their opponents. Carrier Command is apparently a sequel to the original title which was released 25 years ago. So fans of that game should definitely be looking at picking up this title once it is released.

Players will also be pleased to know that the developers are currently looking for beta testers for the title. This could be a good opportunity to get involved with the testing and see how the game plays before it is released. Though, I have no idea how this Beta sign-up works, I’m assuming you have to pre-purchase the game or something.

Be sure to check out the official website for more info.

Square Releases final batch of Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC for Australia and New Zealand

It’s been a nice ride, but all good things must come to an end and Square are now ready to deliver the final grouping of Final Fantasy XIII-2 content for Europe. First up, Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess is set to let players take control of the heroine in a story that ties into the main story and is meant to be played post-game.

Next, we have Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield, which features an epic battle with the “Arbiter of Time”, and also give players a chance to finally unlock Snow as a party member. To sweeten the deal even further, Serah has also been given a White Mage attire, Noel a Black Mage wardrobe, and little Mog has gotten a Wondrous treatment, adding 16 new costumes for your little companion.

Prices can be found below:

Lightning’s Story: Requiem of the Goddess – 400 MS Points (360) / AUD $6.25 | NZD $6.90 (PSN)
Snow’s Story: Perpetual Battlefield – 320 MS Points (360) / AUD $4.95 | NZD $5.90 (PSN)
Serah’s Outfit: White Mage – 320 MS Points (360) / AUD $3.45 | NZD $3.90 (PSN)
Noel’s Outfit: Black Mage – 320 MS Points (360) / AUD $3.45 | NZD $3.90 (PSN)
Mog’s Outfits: A Wondrous Wardrobe – 320 MS Points (360) / AUD $3.45 | NZD $3.90 (PSN)

And that’s a wrap! Not a bad way to go out at all, and hopefully, this content will tie over all of you until more in known about an eventual sequel…if Square decided to create it anyway.
