Demon’s Souls online servers will remain online for the “foreseeable future”

Remember a few weeks back when it was revealed that Atlus was going to shut down the online servers for Demon’s Souls at the end of May? Well it turns out that isn’t going to be happening, instead these online servers which offer a unique online experience will be online for quite some time.

Tim Pivnicny, the Vie President of Marketing and Sales at Atlus stated “While it originally seemed as though it would be unfeasible for us to continue to sustain the servers, a number of developments have made it possible for us to continue to invest in and support our fans as they have continued to invest in and support us and Demon’s Souls. For all the gamers who have yet to discover the game’s amazing online experience, we’re happy to say you can still log on and find out why Demon’s Souls is still regarded by many as one of the finest games of all time.”

The longevity of Demon’s Souls is quite unique considering it is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and a spiritual successor, Dark Souls, was released last year. Still it is good to see fans keeping their favorite game alive by showing extra support.

Anarchy Reigns delayed indefinitely in North America and Europe

Over the past weeks various pieces of news, images and even gameplay footage has been released of the Japanese version of Anarchy Reigns, most of which you can see in the related articles below. However for every piece of information for the Japanese release it seemed strange that Sega in North America had absolutely zero to say about the game. In fact they’ve barely promoted the title at all in the United States.

It seems that there is good reason for this, because according to a development blog from Platinum Games the release date for Anarchy Reigns in North America and Europe has been changed to “TBC” which means To Be Confirmed. Despite this information, various retailers are still listing the original release date of July 3rd. The full blog posting can be seen below:

“Finally, we break the bad news about Anarchy Reigns US/EU release date – SEGA has decided to change the date to TBC. While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go, as publisher, SEGA gets to make the final decision as to when it is released. The Japanese release date, however, remains unchanged for July 5, 2012.”

Obviously it is strange that a fully finished product has been delayed indefinitely. We have reached out to Sega to see if they have anything to say about this newly revealed information.

Jet Set Radio HD grinds onto the PlayStation Vita

While everyone was excited to hear that Jet Set Radio was receiving an HD upgrade and would be released on the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 this summer, I know quite a lot of people will be overjoyed to hear that the game will also be released on the PlayStation Vita.

This PlayStation Vita version of the game will contain a number of Vita exclusive features such as touch-screen control for spraying the graffiti to using the Vita camera for various things. Besides these inclusions the game will contain the same HD upgrades as the console version such as extra levels, modified camera controls and achievements/trophies. The Vita version appears to still be set for release alongside the other versions of the game this Summer so keep an eye out for more information in the coming weeks.

Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection to be released on PSN on June 26

Today Capcom revealed their planned release date for the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection on the PlayStation 3. The game will be released on June 26th as a complete bundle which will cost you an oddly priced $26.99 and allow players to take on the HD versions of the Chronicles games that were originally released on the Wii.

If for some reason or another you choose not to pick up the collection but still want to play either The Umbrella Chronicles or The Darkside Chronicles separately then you will be able to pick them up a couple of weeks later on July 17th for $14.99 each. Just make sure you don’t feel like buying the other game after purchasing one, because then you’ll end up paying at least $3 more for two separate purchases.

WWE13 Trailer Leaked

WWE13 has made its first appearance in a recently leaked trailer narrated by the self proclaimed best in the world. CM Punk. CM Punk invites us with what seems to be this years title to “Live the Revolution” all while watching Stone cold spear Mankind through a free standing ringside fence (think WCW or ECW) and Kane superplex Big Show (both with their new attires) causing the ring to collapse. Other notable appearances are the best in the world at everything he does Chris Jericho, a very classic looking Undertaker and the Great White, Sheamus.

All of this plus the Road Dogg tweeting that he and Billy Gunn had already done voice work for the game and the strong possibility indicated by an ESPN article that Diamond Dallas Page entered a recent agreement that has led to him being a character in the latest WWE video game lends itself heavily toward the rumor that this years game will have an attitude era theme.

But wait. There’s more! As the leaked trailer concludes we’re treated to the release date of November 1st 2012. We’re left wondering “Is this a good thing since the game is usually released late November? Well, it may prevent me from hulking up and running wild from lack of patience but what does it mean for the polish and last minute tweaks to the game?”

For now the only answer we have is to wait and see, though personally all that’s on my mind is Diamond Cutter vs RKO, the King of the Bada-Bing vs the Apex Predator. WWE13 November 1st 2012…

Zone of the Enders HD Collection screenshots revealed alongside Japanese release date

Earlier today Hideo Kojima revealed that Konami would finally be working on creating a brand new Zone of the Enders game. Alongside this announcement Konami also had some good news for fans of the older games in the series… a release date for the HD Collection for Japan.

The game will be released on October 25th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan so this means that those of us in North America and the rest of the world may be able to expect a similar release window for the English version of the game. The collection contains both the original Z.O.E. and Anubis. To go along with the Japanese release date the company also revealed what fans have been waiting for, the first glimpse at some screenshots of these HD upgrades, all of which can be seen below.

New Screenshots for Pro Cycling Manager 2012

Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive have released a new set of screenshots for the upcoming Pro Cycling Manager 2012 and it is looking to be pretty well graphically put together.  There are players that would probably question how good a game about managing a team, let alone a cycling team, could be, but it looks like there is definitely an effort being put into it.  The game is set to feature 80 professional teams in cycling and 180 competitions to compete in including the most famous bike race of all, the Tour de France.

There has also been a lot of work being put into rider models and scenery, but besides just making it look nice a lot more has gone into the competitive AI even in terms of overall strategy not just in each race.  The game wont just be a single player experience either, as there will be multiplayer for the game that will allow for a schedule to race online and reach for the top of the leaderboards. But, for right now all players can really look at are the screenshots, so be sure to check them out in the gallery below or check out Pro Cycling Manager 2012‘s new website HERE.

Metal Gear Solid HD Vita Arrives July 5 In Australia

While North America will receive Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the Playstation Vita in June, Australians will have to wait a little while longer. Konami has announced that the HD collection will arrive in Australia on July 5, perfect for the upcoming holidays for students. The collection will include Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with updated graphics.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 will be fitted with controls using the Playstation Vita’s specific touch inputs. Players will be able to zoom in to the game’s cut-scenes, peek around corners, interrogate enemies, cycle through weapons/items, and perform quick attacks with their knife. The game will use the Transfarring system, where save data can be transferred between the Playstation Vita and Playstation 3 versions of the game.

New Zone of the Enders title coming in the form of “Enders Project”

I believe everyone can take a small sigh of relief because Hideo Kojima revealed today that his company, Kojima Productions, has begun working on a sequel to the much beloved series of games. Currently the sequel is being called the “Enders Project” but will likely receive a name change in the coming months.

Famitsu.com details that Kojima has stated that the game is currently in the early prototyping phase and that Producer Ryosuke Toriyama and other key staff members are currently holding tests to see what they can do internally using Kojima’s newly developed Fox Engine. As it stands there currently is no other information about the game, including what consoles it will be on so for the moment all fans can do is wait a little longer.
