The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Dawnguard given first trailer

A few weeks back Bethesda revealed that the first piece of DLC for Skyrim would be called Dawnguard. However at that time the company revealed little else about the DLC, but today they have rectified that issue by releasing their first official trailer for Dawnguard.

The DLC places the player in the middle of two opposing factions, the Dawnguard and a group of extremely powerful looking vampires. We’ve all seen vampires before in Elder Scrolls games but it seems that they are receiving a massive upgrade, featuring new powers, transformation abilities and more. Also look, crossbows! The DLC will be released on the Xbox 360 first this summer for 1600 Microsoft Points ($20) and will appear on the PlayStation 3 and PC later on.

Assassin’s Creed III Ubiworkshop Edition revealed

In what has to be probably the most idiotic sounding name for a collector’s edition ever released to the public, Ubisoft has revealed that they are planning on releasing an Assassin’s Creed III collector’s edition. Wait, I mean Assassin’s Creed III Ubiworkshop Edition…

Anyways, the “Ubiworkshop” edition of the game will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is available only at ubiworkshop.com. The package will give you the game itself, an Assassin’s Creed Subject 4 graphic novel and a 500 page Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia. While the encyclopedia is certainly large and probably comprehensive, the package will cost you a hefty $109.99 so if video game books are your thing then perhaps this is the edition for you.

Next Gears of War to be announced at E3

With E3 next week there are always a few pieces of information which leak out early, and this time around it is Game Informer that has chosen to spill the beans on what may have been one of Microsoft’s biggest game reveals. Their cover for July features Gears of War soldiers escorting a black silhouetted character which is likely Marcus.

Could this game potentially be a prequel to Gears of War? A new spin-off in the Gears of War series? Who knows, but we do know that we’ll likely be seeing it up close and personal when it is revealed next Monday at Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

Aliens: Colonial Marines collector’s edition officially revealed

You may remember that a few months ago, an image that supposedly showed all of the contents of an Aliens: Colonial Marines collector’s edition appeared online, however at that time SEGA made no comment on the image. Well today the company revealed their own, exact same image along with some details about what you will receive if you choose to purchase the $100 collector’s edition.

The package includes:

  • Resin Powerloader statue.
  • Four multiplayer characters based on the movies — Hicks, Drake, Apone and Hudson.
  • Ripley’s Flamethrower.
  • Extra character customization options.
  • Exclusive weapons — Phase Plasma Rifle and Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers.
  • Exclusive level — USMC Firing Range.
  • USCM Dossier — includes mission brief, USS Sephora schematic, Recruitment card, LV-426 recon photo, USCM iron-on badges, USCM graduation certificate.
  • Xenomorph “Hive” packaging.

This is obviously a very extensive package and from the image above it is quite obvious that fans of the Aliens franchise, or even fans of Collector’s Editions will find the $100 price tag rather cheap for what is offered. As shown in the image, potential buyers of the game will have to wait until February 12, 2013 when Aliens: Colonial Marines is released to pick up this nice little package.

Dead Space 3 screenshots reveal co-op mode

EA may have been wanting to keep their Dead Space 3 reveal a secret until next week’s E3 press conference, but it seems that you can’t always get what you want, especially if you are a large publishing company. All Games Beta has tossed up a slew of screenshots which are taken from the next Dead Space Game.

In these images it is shown that Isaac Clarke is going to have a friend with him this time around, though obviously no information has been revealed yet except for the fact that the game may take place on an ice world. So… how do you feel about a horror game with co-op gameplay? Personally I am not a big fan of this move considering the fact that it will be truly difficult to scare someone when they are playing with another person. However I will withhold further judgment until next week when EA is likely to officially announce Dead Space 3.
