Resident Evil: Damnation coming September 25th

Load up your guns and get your boots on! Resident Evil: Damnation is coming on DVD and Blu-ray! Capcom has teamed up with Sony to bring you the wonderful apocolapyse movie based on the Resident Evil cannon. The movie is a sequel to the 2008 movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration. You can expect major sales for this release due to Degeneration’s $509K grossing when the movie released in Japan for 2 weeks in theatres. It’s also been noted that Degeneration also sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide. The movie will be priced at twenty-five dollars on DVD and thirty on Blu-ray (US$) and due out on the 25th of September 2012.

The disc also features loads of extras like a gag reel showing the actors messing around and a “Las Plagas: Organisms of War” featurette that provides you an in-depth details about the monsters and creatures appearing in the movie. For all of you who worry about who they casted for the movie, fear not, all actors from Degenerations will be returning and will be killing more horrifying creatures than the previous installment!

Rurouni Kenshin for International Release

As previously reported, the widely popular Rurouni Kenshin saga has been adapted into a live action film. Directed by Keishi Otomo and starring Takeru Satou of Kamen Rider Den-O as the mysterious Kenshin Himura, the movie will be released in Japan on August 25, 2012.

Along side Satou will be Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, the heir to the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu dojo, Munetaka Aoki as Sanosuke Sagara, the rough and tumble hooligan. Judging from the cast, the movie will encompass the arcs surrounding Jin-e, Kanryu, and Hajime Saitou.

While it was said that they would be working towards an international release, it has recently been confirmed that Japan’s Gaga Corporation will be handling the actual international rights to release the film.

Max Payne | Short Film – A Capsule Theatre Of Vision Special

Welcome to this weeks special Capsule Theatre of Vision, our feature that we sometimes show here on the site and that’s name was once actually spelt correctly. So then, who here loves Max Payne? I know that a lot of people do, some people love it so much they’ve even gone ahead and created this rather entertaining piece, titled simply, Max Payne | Short Film.

The film is styled in the Max Payne cut-scene style and as a result, works incredibly well as a short film. Now we don’t want to sound like we’re boasting but a writer on our site is actually a few characters in this film, see if you can guess which ones. The films score was composed by the Amazing Reece Davis, who does an epic job capturing the feel of the film. The film was directed By William Piotrowski, who is quite an awesome director, and has directed some other amazing videos which can be seen on his channel linked below.

The film is incredibly well done for a fan film and you should probably check it out. So be sure to check out the video embedded below; and the groups Official Youtube Channel where they somewhat frequently post awesome videos like this one (I’d recommend their Call of Duty short).

Have some South Park: The Stick of Truth screenshots with your City Chicken

Well, I do hope that you read that title with the same accent as the City Wok owner, Tuong Lu Kim, or me and every other South Park fan will be truly ashamed of you. Either way, THQ has released a small handful of new screenshots for their upcoming title South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The four screenshots which can be seen below show off a number of areas in the game, including the City Wok, what appears to be a Kingdom where the player can do multiple things like in a town and a dungeon like castle. Hopefully these images can tide you over for a bit, because South Park: The Stick of Truth isn’t about to come out until March 5, 2013.

First Toki to Towa gameplay trailer has some issues

While Imageepoch has shown off plenty of still images of their soon to be released JRPG, Toki to Towa (also known as Time and Eternity), there has been no actual gameplay footage of the title which has been promising a non-stop anime feel whether the player is walking around town, in a battle or talking to other characters.

Well, today the company revealed a full trailer for Toki to Towa which can be seen below and the “HD animation RPG” looks like it currently has at least a few problems such as stiff and strange animations. Considering the title is meant to be released in Japan on October 11th it seems likely that these issues won’t be resolved, though it is still interesting to see in motion.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance launch event announced

Happen to be a big fan of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance in North America? Well Square Enix is planning on hosting a launch event for the title at the Nintendo World Store in New York City. So while a vast number of fans may not be able to attend, those in the New York area can attend the event when it occurs next Saturday on July 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

During the event gamers can buy the standard or Mark of Mastery collector’s edition three days before the game’s official release date of July 31st. Those who do pick up the title here will get a “special gift” of some sort, though what exactly this gift is has not been announced. A new trailer was also released for the game today which can be seen below.

Dead Space 3 co-op added to make gamers feel “comfortable”

Many of you may remember back when Dead Space 2 was released, Electronic Arts was advertising the game as a title your mom would absolutely hate and that is why you should play it. Now it seems that they may have scared just a few too many people because in an interview with marketing boss Laura Miele, MCV discovered the true reason for the addition of co-op… to make people feel comfortable with playing a scary game by giving them some support.

“We were hearing feedback that they love the thriller game, but it was pretty scary, and the obvious next step was that they wanted to play with someone. So we introduced co-op into the game. The horror of Dead Space is still all there. It’s still true to its roots and no less scary, but people felt far more comfortable playing it with someone else than they did doing it on their own.

“Personally, I would rather go to a scary movie with my husband rather than sit at home with the lights out watching one on my own. We’re looking for that to reach out to consumers that perhaps were not open to Dead Space 1 and 2.”

Considering the whole reason for creating a “horror” game is to actually scare people, trying to make people less scared and more willing to have a date night while playing the game with their loved one seems like the exact opposite of what you are supposed to be doing.

Minecraft XBLA hits 3 million sales

Take an insanely popular game from the PC and place it on the Xbox 360 where many people can take advantage of the console’s easy to access system and guess what that creates? Well it creates at least 3 million sales since Minecraft was released on the XBLA.

Notch, creator of Minecraft and owner of Mojang, revealed on his Twitter today stating that he has been told that “Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!” Hopefully the large influx of cash from these sales will translate into faster support for the XBLA version of the game and more features being implemented over the coming months.

Street Fighter X Tekken beats down European Vitas on October 19

Now while we have known for quite some time that North American Vita owners will have a chance to pick up Street Fighter X Tekken for their languishing handheld on October 23rd but those in Europe have been biting their fingernails while they wait for a chance to play a game that has been out on other consoles for a half a year at this point.

Well there is no reason to keep worrying as it turns out Europeans will be getting Street Fighter X Tekken on the Vita on October 19th, four days before their North American counterparts. It is worth noting that Street Fighter X Tekken on the Vita contains a number of bonuses as well as all DLC released for the PS3 version of the game.
