Steam is about to get a lot more awesome next week because Ronimo Games has announced a release date for their highly anticipated title, Awesomenauts. Though it seems that they didn’t want to give anyone a whole lot of time to prepare, because that release date? It is next week on August 1st.
To commemorate the release of the title the company revealed a number of new screenshots, which can be seen below, for the 3 on 3 platforming MOBA. Those who want to know much more about the title, or perhaps see if their PC can play the game, can check out Awesomenauts’ Steam page here.

Important news this week on Xbox Live News with Pipper! First and foremost, thank you for tuning in to the show and boy do we have some news coming to you. Xbox’s very own Major Nelson has been announcing the updates for Xbox Live via twitter and blog. Major has urged people to voice there opinions by saying, “Keep the feedback coming. Those who work on the ‘deals’ actually read these comments on a regular basis.”
While Major’s message gives us hope for better deals, others believe that it will never happen. Member “MilkyTee” offers the following reply:
That’s reassuring in a way, but people have been coming to your blog and moaning about the deals for a long time. And they seem to be getting persistently worse.
It’s all well and good that they read the comments but acting upon them is another matter entirely. Again, the community feels like they are owed some good discounts at the very least, it is a “benefit” of being a Gold member.
Has the community met their breaking point? What will it take to get similar deals like the Playstation community? Let’s move on to the deals and see why some people are imploding.

If you are upset about the deals, please make your way over to Major’s blog and post your frustrations. I too agree that year long subscribers deserve a little bit more than what we are getting. Playing games online should not be a GOLD status privilege. If I wanted to pay for an online game, I might as well activate a year long subscription to World of Warcraft – where I am sure I’d receive more benefits.
Thanks everyone for tuning in again for another chapter of Xbox Live News with Pipper. Stand up for your gaming rights, and always remember to “Play Hard or Don’t Play At All!”

Riot seems to be on quite the roll with dealing out strong female champions. Recently revealed is Diana, Scorn of the Moon. Diana offers a higher difficulty of gameplay by utilizing combos to do burst damage or greater damage over time. Alternatively, she can absorb immense amounts of damage while using her Pale Cascade ability (see below). Did I mention that her ultimate ability Lunar Rush does not have a cooldown when properly used? Diana, your pulling on this guy’s heartstrings!
Abilities
Moonsilver Blade (Passive): Diana has increased Attack Speed. Every third strike cleaves nearby enemies for additional magic damage.
Crescent Strike: Diana swings her blade to unleash a bolt of lunar energy, afflicting enemies with Moonlight and dealing damage in an arc before exploding.
Pale Cascade: Diana creates three orbiting spheres that detonate on contact with enemies to deal damage in an area. She also gains a temporary shield that absorbs damage. This shield is refreshed if all three spheres detonate.
Moonfall: Diana draws in and slows all nearby enemies.
Lunar Rush (Ultimate): Diana teleports to an enemy and deals magic damage. Lunar Rush has no cooldown when used to teleport to a target afflicted with Moonlight.
Lore
While her story isn’t fully known, Diana was not always under the blessing of the moon. She was shunned by the people of the sun and was forced to take refuge. When one light diminishes another one grows – this being the moon’s glow. Finding solace in her isolation, Diana began her training with the powers of the moon. Utilizing lunar energy and pure ferocity, she holds on to the vengeance of those that burned her. Using her own light, she forges a path of devastation with her crescent blade.
Now that we have learned a little bit about what Battlefield 3’s Aftermath DLC package will contain, it only makes sense we get a release window of some kind. Today EA updated Battlefield 3’s premium page and on this hype page it was revealed that the Aftermath DLC will be coming to consoles sometime in December.
It is also worth noting that the Battlefield 3 End Game DLC is also listed for release in March 2013, though this is certainly a long time away and delays could happen. Both of these content packs are meant to add in four new maps and a number of weapons and vehicles.
Besides the surprising fact that Japanese gamers actually bought a game for the Xbox 360 (considering the low popularity of the console in the country), it sounds like those who chose to support this version of the game are facing some unexpected lag problems when they play the game online.
The official Persona blog has been updated with an apology from Atlus stating that they are investigating the problem and are promising to provide an immediate follow up report when the problem is identified. Until that time, Atlus has suggested that gamers change their network settings to say “Good Connection Only” instead of “Same Area Only.” It is not yet known if this problem will be fixed and patched before the North American release of the game on August 7th.
When Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns was released last year gamers in North America were able to get a plush alpaca to go with their DS/3DS game and this time around Natsume has continued their tradition of offering cute plush animals as pre-order bonuses.
This time around the company has made the difficult choice of turning a Yak into a cute plushie and from the look of it above, they seem to have succeeded. It is worth noting that currently 3DS exclusive Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is only set to be released in North America and as such the above Yak may only be available to those who pre-order the game from participating retailers in North America.
We’ve all seen plenty of shooting games before and each one of them wants to try and sell you on how their shooting mechanics are better than everything you have already seen. However after watching the below trailer for Square Enix’s Sleeping Dogs then I may want to actually believe their claims.
TOday Square Enix released the below gameplay trailer which shows protagonist Wei Shen taking out numerous bad guys with guns as he demonstrates the game’s “Hard boiled” shooing mechanics. Those interested in picking up the game should note that it is set to be released roughly two and a half weeks from now on August 14th.
A lot can happen when you throw $80,000 at a few people working together on a great project. Thanks to Kickstarter, this is possible and in less than a day and it has happened for the folks at Sauropod Studio.
Castle Story is the name of the project and it’s a game about building, exploring and gathering to create fortifications and establish a defense against the bad things that come in the night. It is voxel-based and looks a bit like Minecraft but do not make the mistake of calling it a Minecraft clone.
Castle Story will be an RTS in a sense that you will be able to control a civilization made up of little yellow guys called Bricktrons. The Bricktrons will be the ones doing all the footwork; chopping trees, mining stone and defending while you give commands and decide exactly what you want them to do next. The world they occupy is made of floating islands rich with resources.
The Castle Story Kickstarter was set up today and has already exceeded the goal of $80,000, currently it has accrued over $100,000. The pledging options start at $15 which guarantees you a beta copy of the game (that will become the final version at no extra charge) and your name in the game. For $25 you get that plus a prototype that will be released soon after the Kickstarter is finished. Pledge more and get signed posters, t-shirts and handmade plushies.
If you like commanding units in RTS games and surviving nights in structures that you built in games like Minecraft and Terraria then Castle Story will be a must-have. Check out the Kickstarter page hereand get ready to be impressed.
