NES Play Action Football Hits Club Nintendo Rewards

Madden fans are surely prepping for next week’s big launch for Madden 13, but Club Nintendo members can get their own football action for just a few of those coins. This week, Nintendo have added NES Play Action Football as a reward for the Wii Virtual Console, and it will luckily only cost 100 coins to those interested.

I would say that this is perfect timing, as we all know the pigskin is a popular topic this time of year. I’m also digging these mid month rewards as well, as the variety has definitely improved over the past two months. Go download and enjoy folks, and stay tuned as we will keep you updated for when the next digital reward is added.

To Love-Ru Darkness gets its first promotional video

Although To Love-Ru Darkness may have gotten an OVA release last week, fans of the series likely remember that there is also a full anime being created for the series. Today the first promotional video for the upcoming anime was released and in it viewers can catch a small glimpse of the various harem antics the show will contain once it begins in October.

For those who don’t know, To Love-Ru Darkness is the sequel to Saki Hasemi’s To Love-Ru manga which takes a slightly more risqué approach to things than the original manga, with the story focusing around Momo as she tries to put together a “harem plan” with Rito and Yami the “Golden Darkness'” backstory.

It is worth noting that Sentai Filmworks originally licensed both the first and second season of the To Love-Ru anime, so it will be interesting to see if they will also acquire To Love-Ru Darkness for a North American release.

Witness Senran Kagura Burst’s battles, busts and butts in latest trailer

The Japanese release date for Senran Kagura Burst: The Crimson Girls is just next week and to help push the game a little bit more to potential buyers, Marvelous AQL released a new trailer for the game was released which shows off a number of in-game footage, cutscenes and some of the main characters’ “assets.”

The video itself can be seen below and anyone interested in picking up the title may want to simply import this version as currently no company has picked the game up for an English release, though XSEED has briefly mentioned the title before. It is also worth noting that Senran Kagura Burst also includes the first title in the series on the cartridge, so buyers are actually getting two games for the price of one.

For those who would rather watch an anime featuring these characters instead of trying to import the game, then you are also in luck because an anime is indeed being created.

Persona 4: Golden gets a solid gold premium edition

If you are frustrated with the fact that Sony absolutely refuses to release any special edition PlayStation Vita’s in North America or simply happen to be a major fan of Persona 4 then you’ll be happy to hear that Atlus’ recently announced special bundle for Persona 4: Golden gives you everything you need to turn your Vita into a Persona 4 Vita.

Releasing alongside the standard version of Persona 4: Golden, a Solid Gold Premium Edition will also be released for $70. This premium edition comes with a set of stickers, a protective skin for the Vita, a pack of digital wallpapers, a face cover for the Vita and even a Persona 4 themed Vita pouch, all of which can be seen in high-res below. It is worth noting that there are only going to be 10,000 of these Solid Gold editions released, so you better get your money ready for pre-order.

Natsume discounts their produce for PlayStation Plus members

If you happen to be a member of the PlayStation Plus service then you now have a chance to add some great farming titles to your digital collection. To help celebrate Harvest Moon’s 15th anniversary the company has revealed that they will be putting a number of their digital titles on sale.

These titles mostly include their very popular and beloved Harvest Moon series as well as two others, the full list of which can be seen below:

If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, now’s a good time to pump up your game library. Natsume has discounted many of their titles to celebrate Harvest Moon’s 15th anniversary, so you should go…harvest some of them!

  • Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl, $7.50 (50% discount)
  • Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley, $7.50 (75% discount)
  • Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon, $7.50 (50% discount)
  • Reel Fishing: The Great Outdoors, $7.50 (50% discount)
  • Adventures To Go!, $7.50 (50% discount)

At the time of the sale announcement the company also hinted that gamers should keep an eye out for more of their titles coming to the PSN, though what exactly they meant by that is currently unknown. Perhaps Natsume should look into bringing a few of their classic games to the Xbox 360 as well…

Toejam and Earl achievements revealed

If you were concerned that Sega had forgotten about the classic Toejam and Earl series then you better think again. Achievements for Toejam and Earl have appeared online under the name of Sega Vintage Collection and while there has not been an actual announcement from Sega, this likely means the title will indeed be coming out to the XBLA and PSN.

It is also worth noting that those who look at the achievements will find that the download will actually contain not just the first Toejam and Earl title, but it’s sequel as well. We have reached out to Sega to see if they have any statement about this information and will provide you with an update if they make a statement.

Get down to business with some more Grand Theft Auto V screens

In what is their third screenshot release this week, Rockstar Games has revealed a small handful of Grand Theft Auto V screenshots to the public. Like the last few releases, these images don’t really reveal too much about the game’s storyline or even who the world you will be playing as, but simply what you will be doing when the game does get released to the public.

This time around the screenshots were titled “Business” so these are probably more activities the player can take part in during GTAV, such as flying a propeller plane, shooting at helicopters, running from the cops or even jumping onto a passing truck. Check ’em out for yourself below.

Dark Blood Gets New Tag Mode

Dark Blood, the free-to-play MMORPG arcade brawler, has just gotten a new mode to change up the PVP fighting system.  The new Tag Mode allows players to utilize two fighters and tag in and out to best match their opponents or give their characters a breather.

In addition, Dark Blood’s publisher Outspark has announced that there will be a special PAX Fight Night with a Dark Blood Tag Tournament where winners can earn some sweet prizes.  They have also released two teaser trailers so players can get a sneak peek of what the event will entail, which can be checked out below.

Outspark has also set up some customization packs for players wanting to look their best for the PAX Fight Night, which players can get by entering the code TAGMEINDARKBLOOD HERE.

Players can check out the free-to-play Dark Blood at its website HERE.  Attendees of PAX Prime can see the Dark Blood team at the Twisted Tales panel on September 1st.

Uncharted: The Movie Without a Director Once More

0

One day a video game to film adaptation will be pulled off smoothly, with great casting, appropriate faith to the source material and a good helping of luck. Sadly the ever troubled production of Uncharted has seen yet more traffic through it’s revolving door of directors, and as yet doesn’t look like it will be the film to lift the notorious curse of the video game adaptation.

After director David O Russel and Sony decided to part ways on the project, Neil Burger (behind the solidly entertaining Limitless) has also decided to cal it quits, leaving Nathan Drake without a helmsman yet again. Yet more production changes are to see two new writers take another crack at the screenplay, but whether this is a total rewrite or merely some tweaking to the existing screenplay is yet to be revealed.

Marianne and Cormac Wibberley have been set this rather unenviable task, but at least have the rather appropriate experience of having worked on both National Treasure movies.

Here’s hoping Nicoloas Cage doesn’t get involved…
