LittleBigPlanet Karting Out Now

Sackboy is back, in what will most likely be another high quality yet mysteriously below the radar release. Little Big Planet Karting is out now on the PlayStation 3, skipping into the world not long after the Vita release of Little Big Planet – which, by the way, was rather excellent.

This time Crafworld is under siege from some go-kart bound bad guys who want to loot the world of all it’s goodies, so step into Sackboy’s stitchy feet (or shoes of choice if you’ve got some in that popit) and get after them in your own kart.

The game features some use of the PlayStation Move, and also takes advantage of the new Move Racing Wheel. Of course neither of these peripherals is necessary to enjoy the customisation happy trip that is anticipated of anything LBP, so look forward to local and online multiplayer, 25 levels, battle arenas and the ever awesome ability to create and play levels designed by the rest of the world.

As per usual there is a launch trailer to partner the release of the game, so make sure and feast your eyes on the video that is just a smidgen down below. Keep an eye out for the CC review of the title in the near future.

Hercules To Star Dwayne Johnson, Directed By Brett Ratner

Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios have just announced a co-production partnership in bringing Hercules back to the silver screen!

The film will begin production early 2013, and will star “franchise viagra“, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the title role. Brett Ratner, whom we all know from helming the classic comedies of The Rush Hour trilogy, will also be directing this mega-blockbuster in-the-making. The screenplay has been adapted by one Ryan Condal, with the story being based on that which is found within Radical Studio’s graphic novel ‘Hercules: The Thracian Wars’. The action film is promising to boast an ensemble-cast and will represent a revisionist’s take on the classic myth, instead set in a grounded world where there is no such thing as the supernatural.

Johnson, who has boosted the box office takings of every franchise he has entered – hence the aforementioned nickname – can be seen next in the upcoming  sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and the body-building comedy Pain and Gain, directed by, the usually action-oriented, Michael Bay. Both films are also being produced by Paramount Pictures. Ratner is coming off of a string of comedy films and producing roles, with his last directing duties on an action film being over 5 years ago with X-Men: The Last Stand.

Sacred Citadel – Safiri Warrior Character Featurette

Sacred Citadel, the upcoming side-scrolling brawler, has four different playable classes, but the question is how to choose between them.  Well, in hopes of shedding some light on at least one of  the playable classes right now, Deep Silver and SouthEnd Interactive have released a short featurette on the Safiri Warrior.

The Safiri Warrior is toted to be the tank of the game, but even better than that the only class capable of using two-handed weapons.  Skills for the Warrior are important as there are a number of melee weapons for him to mix and match between his two hands.  Coming from the Safiri islands, the warrior was brought into the quest to stop the Ashen Empire by the religion of the Safiri people, who see it as their duty to aid the Ancarians in the fight.

Sacred Citadel is planned to come out sometime 2013 for Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, and PCTo see the character featurette and the Safiri Warrior in action for yourself check out the embedded video below.
