Braquo Receives “Best Drama Series” Award At The 40th International Emmy Ceremony

Yesterday, at the 40th International Emmy Awards in New York City, French series Braquo won the “Best Drama Series” emmy for it’s stellar second season.

Academy President Bruce Paisner had this to say about the event’s winners, whose backgrounds spanned 6 different countries (including Australia), “The International Academy is proud to be shining the spotlight on the world’s best television programming and performances, for the last 40 years, and we congratulate tonight’s winners for their outstanding achievements as they enter into Emmy history”. Barquo was written by Abdel Raouf Dafri and created by former French police officer, actor and filmmaker, Olivier Marchal. It follows a squad of four Parisian cops who are out for justice once their friend Max commits suicide after being wrongly blamed for the outcome of a very sensitive case.

Season 1 of this realistic, dark and gritty thriller/drama, which has been compared most closely to the U.S. hit show The Wire, will be coming to home media on DVD, Blu-Ray and iTunes  in Australia on December 10th, courtesy of Beyond Home Entertainment.

Sine Mora Shmups onto PSN and Vita

Shmup fans in their Sony devices might have felt a little left out when Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture released Sine Mora to the XBLA, but the day has come to make up for it.  Yes, now Sine Mora is available on the PSN, as well as the PS Vita.  Players can check out the trailer embedded below to see it in action.

If just releasing the game to the Sony systems however doesn’t seem like it could possibly make up for the earlier release to the Xbox though, Sine Mora for PSN includes an additional Challenge Mode giving players short 1-2 minute challenges to complete featuring levels from the Story Mode.  For the PS Vita, the game features touch controls, unlockable concept art, and a GPS Unlock Gallery to show the player how far they’ve come.  Both versions also include an additional character with Wilhelmina Muller, previously from Under Defeat, who has her own sub-weapon with the UD Bomb.

Players interested in the PSN and PS Vita release of Sine Mora can find the game for $9.99 in North America or €9.99 in Europe.

Today it was announced that the Animate Café Tennoji event which was going to be held in Osaka has been cancelled. Animate has apologized to their customers for the inconvenience and also for the late notice since the event was originally meant to kick off only three days from now on November 23rd.

Animate went on to say that the cancellation of the event was thanks to the recent threats against the Kuroko’s Basketball franchise and considering the intensity of these threats the company has chosen to shut down the event to keep their customers safe.

If you haven’t been paying attention to the unfolding Kuroko’s Basketball threat situation, it began last month where over twenty locations, including the author, have been sent threat letters that contained a liquid and powdery substance which may have been hydrogen sulfide which can be deadly if inhaled in a large quantity.

Little Amazon Teaser Video: Lily’s Powers

Just ahead of its imminent release, BulkyPix have released a teaser video for Little Amazon, showing off Lily’s powers.

We formerly shared first screenshots and details about the iOS game, which can be viewed here, but this new teaser video actually shows Lily’s powers in action, and it seems that there is a fourth one that was not previously mentioned. The video gives a quick gameplay glimpse at 4 powers:

  1. The Scouts – Lily summons three helpers, who are on clouds, that aid in collecting coins.
  2. Flying Nimbus (Sometimes referenced as “The Flying Cloud”) – Allows Lily to float on, and control, a cloud of her own for a short amount of time.
  3. Kage Bunshin no Lily (Sometimes referenced as “Attack of the Clones” or “Lily Morphing”) – Summons many clones of Lily that mimic her movements and aid immensely in coin collection.
  4. Meteor Rain – A shower of meteors hits the land, collecting any coins they touch while simultaneously defeating any and all enemies on screen.

To view them all in motion, watch the video below!

Just Dance 4 gets some Gangnam Style

After announcing that some Psy based DLC was in the works a few weeks ago, Ubisoft have unleashed Gangnam Style on the world of Just Dance 4. The DLC is available from today on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will see a release on the Wii U “at a later date”.

The insanely popular Korean pop hit will  come complete with those iconic dance moves that have inspired copious amounts of embarrassing moments for public figures around the world. Although the publicity around the song is beginning to fade a little, you can’t doubt the impact of something that has been viewed 774 million times – a scary number indeed.

Ubisoft have released a trailer for the DLC with the appropriate level of barmy included, and if you’re tempted by some added Gangnam Style it will set you back 300 Microsoft Points, 300 Wii Points, or £2.39 on the PlayStation Network.
