Dragon Quest X Wii U Gets Japanese Release Date

Fans of the lauded Dragon Quest series have long been clamoring for more to sink their teeth into. While many were taken aback when it was revealed that Dragon Quest X would not only be an online game, but require a subscription as well, that didn’t stop the rest of their fans from hoping.

News was revealed today via the Japanese Dragon Quest site that not only would the game see a launch on March 30 in Japan, but that it would also launch along side a new Wii U console bundle.

This release date will apply to both the physical and downloadable versions of the game (all 16 GB of it), and people who already own the title on Wii can purchase the download for half off. All copies of the game will also come with 20 days free to play online as well.

Those interested in what’s contained within the hardware bundle will be happy to hear that it comes with the following:

Wii U Deluxe console
Dragon Quest X
Wii U Pro Controller
Pre-paid card to use in-game for five items that grant you double experience and gold for 30 minutes a piece.

Western fans will be sad to hear that no release date has yet been announced outside of the Japanese version of the game.

Time is running out for Zelda: Ocarina of Time sale on eShop

If you have yet to pick up The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the 3DS eShop then now is probably the best time to do it. Nintendo have had the game discounted on sale for $39.95 in comparison to the standard price of $59.95.

The sale however ends in the next few days on the 21st of February, so it is advised that gamers wanting to score a digital copy of the legendary N64 classic for their 3DS do so as soon as possible. If not, you might just miss out on this awesome limited time only discount.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Limited Edition Details

Ahead of its now solidified August 29th release date, Namco Bandai Games have revealed the details of the limited edition version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle for the PlayStation 3.

The limited edition goes under the name of the Gold Experience Box and can be seen above. It features a plethora of goodies for fans of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. Included in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Gold Experience Box is:

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle game itself.
Golden art plate featuring Giorno & Gold Experience illustrations from creator Hirohiko Araki.
Jotaro Kujo (Part 3’s JoJo) figure.
Limited edition special box.
The official soundtrack of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle.
Hayato Kawajiri notepad (available as pre-order bonus for standard edition).
Yoshikage Kira playable character download code (available as pre-order bonus for standard edition).

The limited edition will retail for 16,980 yen in comparison to the standard edition of the game retailing for 7,980 yen. As of posting JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle has not been confirmed for a Western release.

Seven minute Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus stage video released

So far most of what we have seen of Marvelous AQL’s Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus has involved how the girls’ clothing can be destroyed, the new girls added to the game and plenty of screenshots and only a little bit of information about how the actual combat system will play out.

Well today a seven minute gameplay video, which can be seen below, has been released which shows off how the characters will battle in the game. It appears combat will work similar to a Dynasty Warrior title that features plenty of colorful visuals, over the top attacks and ripped clothing. Currently Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus has not been announced for the West, but gamers can begin importing the title once it is released in Japan next week on February 28th.

Ever since it was announced, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy X HD has been on the forefront of Vita owners’ minds and to a lesser extent, PS3 owners’. However since it was announced, Square Enix hasn’t had much to say about the title other than the fact that it is indeed still being developed.

Well last night during Sony’s PS Vita event in Japan Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto appeared to show off a demo of what the HD version of Final Fantasy X will look like on the Vita. Unfortunately despite showing off the game, the company did not announce a release date. Anyways, check out some video-ripped screens and the presentation itself below.

Ice Silver Vita model announced for Japan; looks nifty

After Sony announced that they would be dropping the price of the PlayStation Vita to 19,980 Yen in japan the company followed up with news that may sway a few people who, for some reason or another, didn’t want to buy the basic black Vita, the white Vita that featured Hatsune Miku in Japan or the blue and red versions previously released in the country.

You see, last night Sony announced the above “Ice Silver” Vita which features a gray and silver paint job. It is worth noting that the Ice Silver Vita will only be available in the Wi-Fi only model and will be available in Japan on February 28th. It is currently unknown whether or not this Vita color will be released overseas, but it is worth noting that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be packaged together with the Ice Silver Vita when it is released in Japan.

If you don’t know what Dragon’s Crown is then we don’t blame you. The title was first announced before the PlayStation Vita was even released and initially was meant to be published by Ignition Entertainment before the license was sold off to Atlus a few months ago after multiple delays.

Well don’t worry too much about the title, it is is still in development it seems. Last night during the Japanese PlayStation Vita event Vanillaware showed off a trailer of the game and a few screenshots have been released by Atlus who has stated that fans of the game should expect more info in late March and can currently check out the North American teaser page.

PlayStation Vita price drop announced for Japan

Last night Sony did something that they said they never would do over the past few months. You see, last night the company announced during the PlayStation Vita’s Japanese streaming event that Sony would be dropping the price of the Vita. The new price for the PlayStation Vita will cost 19,980 Yen which equals roughly $200 and this price will apparently be for both the Wi-Fi and 3G Vita models.

The previous price for the Vita in Japan was 24,980 Yen which is around $250 in US currency. As such, this is roughly a $50 price drop for the Vita in Japan. Currently it is unknown whether or not Sony will drop the price of the Vita in the West but it is almost a given at this point that we will hear a Western price drop by the end of the week.

Not long after the smash-hit success of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot did the prospect of a similar franchise reboot in the video game medium arise. Now, it’s been 3 years and Star Trek: The Video Game will be releasing on April 26th.

The game will capitalise on the popularity of the two fan-favourites – Kirk and Spock – by giving players the chance to actually control the two in a co-op experience. In the video directly below, executive producer Brain Miller talks about the inspiration for the developers’ choices in the creation of the game and just what the game will play like. Dead Yourself App: [You’re] Walking Dead

The acclaimed AMC television series of The Walking Dead has turned fans into zombies, with last months release of the ‘Dead Yourself’ app.

The new free iOS and Facebook app allows individuals to recreate their feverish-selves using the grotesque attributes of walkers and weaponry features in their photographs. A blood-splattered blemish, hollow eyes, dislocated jaw and arrow through the head is the perfect zombie-makeover to capture the attention of anyone’s liking. Who would have thought that the worst form of ourselves could serve as a promotion strategy for Telltale’s adventure horror game and Skybound Entertainment’s comic collection?

To distinguish the best walker profiles, fans are encouraged to upload their photos to the gallery on DeadYourself.com and rate the ones that appear the most horrifically realistic. Unsurprisingly, most of the highest-rated photos include young children and pets.

‘Dead Yourself’ app brings to question the extent to which the zombie-persuasion has driven us to change our appearance and the way we act in society. If the inevitability of a zombie apocalypse is the result of humanity changing. Soon enough everyone will be walking dead.
