This time around the video focuses on how Lara will be able to explore the island fully and fast travel. Also mentioned in the video are some of the details for the game’s base camp and how various obstacles are placed in-front of the player and how these obstacles can only be cleared when you come back later with upgraded equipment.

Guardians of Middle-Earth – Gloin DLC Now Available

guardians-of-middle-earth-gloin-cgi-01

Although shown in the recent Hobbit movie as merely a character for comedic relief, Gloin, father of Gimli, has become the next downloadable Guardian Character for Guardians of Middle-Earth and it seems safe to say that any ties with being the “funny” dwarf have been safely done away with. Gloin of Erebor wields a large axe in-game and has a variety of buffs at his disposal to increase his own damage and speed; a somewhat self sufficient Warrior class it seems.

This latest DLC  comes hand-in-hand with the information that Guardians of Middle-Earth is free to all members of Playstation Plus between the 5th of February and March 6th. If you’d like to be convinced to download it for free or just if you’re interested in getting a paid copy then head on over to our review here to hear our thoughts on the game.

Gloin, father of Gimli and member of the original Twelve Dwarfs who set out to kill Smough the Dragon in the Hobbit, is now available for purchase off Xbox Live and the Playstation Network for 160 Microsoft Points or $2.50 respectively, and of course free for holders of the Season Pass. Check out the trailer down below.

Sniper Elite V2 Headed to the Wii U

The Wii U has seen a fare share of late to the party ports thus far, but it seems as if one more title will join the mix. 505 Games announced today that Sniper Elite V2 will come to the system, boasting new features for the Wii U Gamepad.

So what’s new?

Players will enjoy the same thrilling, visceral experience as they guide American OSS agent Karl Fairburne around historical locations throughout Berlin and attempt to unravel the mysteries and dangers of the German V-2 rocket program but now with even greater tactical depth and flexibility thanks to brand new functionality through the GamePad – tag enemies and booby-traps, track enemy locations and activity, even monitor the blast radius of planted explosives – all with a glance at the touch screen and without leaving the battlefield for even a second.

Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion said “Sniper Elite is just the kind of mature game that is perfect for the different mechanics of the Wii U. It’s been a challenge to get it right, but thanks to our team and the fantastic support of our partners at 505 Games we believe we’ve brought the unique gameplay to a whole new platform.”

Sniper Elite V2 places an emphasis on learning to handle the anticipation and pressure of the hunt and using skill, patience and cunning in order to achieve mission goals. Featuring detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, gamers must use their environments and take into account gravity, wind, aim stability and more. The celebrated “kill cam” from Sniper Elite makes its return and is more gratifying than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion sequence of the bullet running its full trajectory before the target is rendered in graphic x-ray detail, showing the bullet entering the body and causing lethal damage.

I am quite interested, I must say as the Gamepad could do a lot for the sniper sim. Due to the fall release date, it seems there will be plenty of time to polish out these features, and if there is one thing the Wii U needs in it’s library, it’s some decent shooters.

These Toki Tori 2 Screenshots Will Brighten Your Day

tokitori2_whatsmyname

Just last week, Two Tribes came out and offered an explanation for their delay of the Wii U version of Toki Tori 2, citing that the game had now seen a huge overhaul of many elements. Today, the fruits of the labor have been shown in the form of new screenshots.

All I can say is that Toki Tori 2 was beautiful before, but it is absolutely gorgeous now – and that delay seems ever so worth it. Charm is literally oozing out of the polygons here, and with the game set to go 60 fps, it is sure to turn some heads when it eventually releases later this year. Check the screens out down below, and we will keep you updated on that release date.

New Assassin’s Creed III DLC Dated

Three new pieces of DLC have been announced for the Assassin’s Creed III video game from Ubisoft. If you’re someone that’s been playing the series for a glimpse at history, you may want to avoid these new DLC packs as they are set in an alternative past where George Washington wasn’t the President, but instead was the King.

These three DLC are part of an Episodic release called: The Tyranny of King Washington. What’s interesting about this is that players will still be playing as Ratonhnhaké:ton, or Connor as he likes to be called.

  •      Episode 1: The Infamy will be available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and Windows PCs on February 19 and on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on February 20, as previously confirmed.
  •      Episode 2: The Betrayal will release on Microsoft’s Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and Windows PCs on March 19 and on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on March 20.
  •      Episode 3 : The Redemption will be available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and Windows PCs on April 23 and on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on April 24.

Be sure to check your applicable method of delivery closer to the release date for more details. Check out below for an embedded trailer showing off the way “Connor” looks and feels for this story.

Syrinscape An App To Improve Your Tabletop Experience

syrinscape-001

I’m pretty sure a lot of us have played a tabletop RPG or two within our lifetimes (I have) and well, usually there’s just always something that’s just a little bit off and it’s usually the sound. Like, your DM is a metal-head who will only play heavy metal during your high fantasy sessions of Dungeons and Dragons. Or maybe you have a group that prefers silence for serious business.

Well now there is an app that you can download which will dramatically alter the soundscapes of your session. This piece of software is called Syrinscape and it essentially creates a unique soundscape based on a users needs. Whilst initially only coming with a small sample of soundscapes, the app (available on PC and mobile platforms) will allow gamers to purchase additional soundscapes to further boost their in game experiences. The app itself is free, but players will be able to purchase additional soundscapes for $2.99 or gain access to 15 soundscapes over 6 months with a once off $15 subscription.

Be sure to check out the official site for more info. The app is currently available on the PC and Android markets.

Customization is paramount in STX.  You can pick your own skillsets and special abilities, create and upgrade your arsenal with rocket launchers, grenades, and licensed weaponry including Sig Sauer and Kalishnikov.  The game features five multiplayer modes including new gametypes Hot Zone and High Value Target, each supporting two to four teams.

Per the official age-gated site, the game features include:

  • Dynamic Map Tile System – The multiplayer maps in STX are customized in real time by players able to vote on selected tiles in the beginning of each round. The game features 9 unique map tiles, creating over 100 multiplayer map combinations.
  • Stylized Action – Take part in the fast and brutal action gameplay with bloody executions and headshots.
