If 7 Up is good enough for Dynasty Warrior 8’s Zhao Yun; it’s good enough for me

dynasty-warriors-7-up-promo

Every once in awhile you see a game in the West given so much promotion that they actually appear on a bag of Doritos or on a Mountain Dew can. This happens only for the biggest releases in the West, but in Japan strange promotional tie-ins are common practice.

So common in fact that Tecmo Koei has created a 7 Up costume for Dynasty Warriors 8’s Zhao Yun. The costume is available for free on the PlayStation Network, but then again the game has only been released in Japan today and Tecmo Koei hasn’t stated whether or not this will be heading overseas yet.

This isn’t the first time a soda has been promoted via Dynasty Warriors if you remember a few years ago when Lu Bu couldn’t get enough Pepsi Next…

Prey 2 teaser site countdown leads to fan site; fans despair

prey-2-countdown

Well… you remember when Bethesda mentioned that that Prey 2 teaser website which had been giving fans hope was “not something we’re doing” and claimed to have no idea who was behind the teaser site? Well it turns out that wasn’t just marketing spin, the companies literally had no clue who was doing it.

The reason for this is that the “Alien Noire” website countdown has finished and rather than reveal some major news for Prey 2 it has instead changed into a fan site that is just trying to get a petition going to get the game finished and put to market. While a great way to show Bethesda that fans still want the game, Bethesda has stated that the website “appears to be a fan site” and that they still “have nothing to do with that site.” Oh well… perhaps those hopes that the game may not have been cancelled after all may have finally gone out. Balls in your court now Bethesda.

Now Dengeki PlayStation has provided not only the first screens of the game but even a preview of what fans should expect.

In their brief preview, the game is described as having “conversation” and “action” parts. It also has been said that there will be a branching story depending on the results of the player’s actions. Those who want to keep a closer eye on this video game adaptation can check out Vividred Operation’s newly released teaser site here.

Well, it certainly would be odd if it supported Xbox Smartglass on the PlayStation 3 wouldn’t it? Anyways, today it was revealed that when Tecmo Koei releases the revamped Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge onto the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 version of the game will support Xbox Smartglass to add tablet features to this previous Wii U exclusive.

The features for Xbox Smartglass will be different from the Wii U gamepad however, as the SmartGlass app will allow you to only keep track of your gameplay stats or load up videos on YouTube to help guide your way through an area. So… pretty much nothing too stellar that fans wouldn’t have already have done with a computer/laptop handy. Anyways, keep an eye out for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge in stores on April 2 in North America, and April 5 in Europe.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s release date leaked

ACIV-black-flag-release-date

It looks like Ubisoft is certainly having issues finding the leak’s in their Assassin’s Creed boat because yet another piece of information has been revealed for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag before they “big” debut of the title on Monday. You see, checking out the official Assassin’s Creed website and adding a “v” to the end of the URL will take browsers to a secret page.

That page has since been modified, but originally the page had the above image saying that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is going to be released on October 29th and there was also information saying it is coming to “next-gen consoles.” What consoles they were talking about specifically weren’t mentioned, but we do know it is already heading to the Wii U at least.
