Guardians of Middle-Earth – Snaga Out Now

guardians-of-middle-earth-snaga-reveal-01

The latest in a long line of downloadable Guardians has surfaced and he’s eager to get in the fight. Snaga the Striker is out looking for blood and with deadly abilities like being able to stun targets and steal their own health, he’ll surely find it. Strikers are light weight but heavy hitters when placed in the right positions and so players will have to be smart just where they employ Snaga’s unique abilities.

Guardians of Middle-Earth is a downloadable title by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Brothers. The game pits teams of five players against one another in epic arena style combat. A very well designed MOBA exclusively on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, players can get their hands on Snaga himself for $2.50 or 160 Microsoft Points respectively (or completely free for holders of the Season Pass). For our own thoughts on the game as a whole feel free to read our review over here.

Capcom Release New Gameplay Trailer For Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

dogma-arisen-01

It has been quite a newsworthy day, but lets remember the generation we are still in for a minute. Right now, one of the finest Action RPGs that consoles have seen is set to release a full on expansion. I am of course talking about Dark Arisen ffor Dragon’s Dogma – and things are shaping up nicely for the add-on as a new trailer has been revealed, showing off some new enemies players will come across in the game.

What does this trailer hold?

Watch as a band of heroes descends into the depths of Bitterblack Isle and encounters the horrors below. After successfully defeating a ferocious Cockatrice, these stalwart warriors will encounter Necrophagous in various forms. Garms, a band of ravenous twisted lupine beasts that spew a blinding fog, descend on the carcass of the Cockatrice and attack the party; an Elder Ogre, a larger and deadlier form of its surface dwelling cousin, squares off with the party in a dark hallway; and most fearsome of all, the Cursed Dragon, twisted into a truly wretched foe by the darkest of magicks, bears down on the group, seeking to devour any flesh it can.

I honestly put off playing Dragon’s Dogma when it originally released as I was too caught up in Skyrim. When you put the two side by side however, Dogma is the true winner as I have recently fallen in love with the game, and this new expanision is looking to tighten my relationship even further. Check out the clip below, and expect to see Dark Arisen on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 23rd.

Vergil’s Downfall will be arriving in digital download form to your chosen system on March 6th for 720 Microsoft Points or approximately $8.99. Bioshock Infinite Goes Gold

bioshock-infinite-screenshot-01

Read up on your warped American History and look out for that Songbird because Bioshock Infinite has officially gone gold! Announced via Irrational Games’ blog, the eagerly awaited next instalment from this award winning series will be coming to a store near you on March the 26th.

Creative Director of the game, Ken Levine spoke of the achievement: “Today, I’m happy to announce that the game has gone gold. What that means is that it has been approved by both Sony and Microsoft (and the PC Gods, natch) to be sent to the manufacturing guys to load up fleets of trucks with BioShock Infinite and be driven to a store near you on March 26th.”

Bioshock Infinite places players in the role of Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former agent who is sent to Columbia to “rescue” Elizabeth and bring her back alive in order to clear his many debts. Things are not always as they seem however and players will be rapidly plunged into a world of chaos, where gamers’ own moral compasses will be broken and you’ll need to figure out just who your friends and enemies really are.

“Nobody has ever built a game quite like this. It’s a shooter, but a shooter that brings you to very uncomfortable and dangerous places. I can’t demand that you play the game; I can promise you, however, that once you have, it will be an experience you won’t soon forget.”

Following similar tones from the previous two games, Bioshock Infinite will allow players to combine guns, a handy gadget called a Sky-Hook and some incredible powers of control, destruction and confusion; adding up to some very fun signature gameplay.

“Who is Booker, and what is the debt that drives him to Columbia? What are Elizabeth’s powers and why has she been locked up since she was a child? Why does Booker have the letters ‘AD’ branded into his right hand? And what, in God’s name, is the Songbird.

Columbia is a city teeming with mystery. I’m glad to say that one mystery is over: On March 26th, you will be able to play BioShock Infinite.”

Fans the world over will be able to get their hands on the game on March 26th, with the title arriving on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Check it out, would you kindly?

shinji-hashimoto-troll

Today during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting where the company had earlier announced the PlayStation 4, Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto took to the stage. The crowd quieted as fans of the Final Fantasy everywhere began whispering of what the news could be. Could it be Final Fantasy XIII Versus? Final Fantasy XV? Final Fantasy XIII-3? God help us Final Fantasy: All the Bravest 2?

Well it turns out that all that excitement was for nothing, because Shinji stood up on that stage and said to “please be excited for E3 this year.” He could have saved himself some money on a plane ticket and just did a video recording or a satellite broadcast from Japan but hey, least he got to see New York City. Oh well, E3 2013 will see the announcement of a new Final Fantasy game of some sort…

Diablo III to come to PS4 Fully Optimized

diablo-3-vga-trailer

Blizzard and Sony have announced a strategic partnership, seeing the gaming giant returning to the console market. Chris Metzen told the audience that Diablo III will be coming to the PS4 fully optimized for the new controller.

There is a huge leap from the complex menus and controls to a console platform but Chris Metzen ensured us that this port will be focused making Diablo III user interface more friendly than the PC version. In particular he highlighted the frustration some PC users indicated they had with customizing your character’s avatar.

Without going into detail Blizzard also announced that the game will be 4 player cooperative without the difficulties of a camera squeezing all characters in the one shot. How this will be achieved was not described in detail but they seemed to be pretty confident that one player could go to town without ruining game play for everyone else. Blizzard is using the tagline ‘One Couch to Rule Them All’ to describe this achievement.
