The Sorceress has a vast array of skills that she can deploy in combat. The Fighter is the elite swordsman type, with slicing and dicing skills the likes of which take enemies by surprise. He is one big man and uses that size to his advantage quite frequently squashing all enemies in his path. Here is the trailer for The Fighter.

Dark Avenger GAMEVIL’s Newest on App Store

Mobile developer and publisher GAMEVIL has brought a brand new game onto the iOS App Store with Dark Avenger. Developed by BOOLEAN GAMES, Dark Avenger takes the form of a hack and slash dungeon crawler where players can both explore and fight through single player dungeons and face human opponents in global PvP, as well as switch quickly between the two.

Currently featuring a single hero for players to take through the dungeons and face enemies, the Templar is the titular Dark Avenger, but players needn’t fret from lack of choice as additional characters will be added in updates, the Ranger being the first announced. Until then though the only thing distinguishing players will be skills and customization, but the global leader boards will be rewarding the highest each week.

Interested players can check out Dark Avenger for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch for FREE right now from the iOS App Store HERE.

The Digi-Destined keep getting funkier each generation.
The Digi-Destined keep getting funkier each generation.

On Thursday Namco Bandai Games has just begun streaming an ad for the new Nintendo 3DS title Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode. The “digital monster-raising role-playing” game is an expanded version of the PlayStation Portable version just title Digimon World Re:Digitize which was released last year. The 3DS version is said to be greater than the PSP version because it is largely expanded and will take full use of the 3D and touch pad features which the 3DS has.

The ad briefly teases the two new and extra storylines: The Lamentable X-Antibody and The Scheming Demon Lord. It also promotes the fact the game will allow for over 160 different, trainable Digimon to be found. The first copies of the new game will come with a special collaboration card for the Digimon Card Game.

The game is planned for arrival on the 27th of June in Japan and hopefully we will be seeing it here in the west some time late this year.

Check out the quick teaser in our Featured Video section below and don’t forget to drop us a line in the comments section just under that.

Idol Group relies on the economy for fashion choices.

machikado-keiki-japan- group.
It may seem rather odd to compare the Japanese stock market with J-pop idols, but there is one newly formed group who are keen observers. Machikado Keiki Japan bases their skirt lengths off of how well the Nikkei 225 stock market index does; the higher the stock, the lower the skirts.

The Four member group has set up a scale relating to the rise and fall of the Nikkei Index and their dresses, if the index falls below 10000 points then the group will wear long skirts and an increase of over 13,000 points will result in no skirts being warn, as shown when they appeared for an interview for a Japanese newspaper, choosing to wear lacy shorts instead.

Their first song, released in April, is based on the economic decisions made by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, whose policies are more often referred to as Abenomics. Click here to see their music video or check it out by scrolling down.

The theory behind the correlation of skirt lengths and the stock market is better known as the “Hemline Theory” and although showing coincidental data favoring the theory, it is still regarded as dubious.

Monster Rancher anime licensed by Discotek

monster-rancher-posterDiscotek Media have announced that they have licensed the entire 73 episode run of classic monster-taming anime Monster Rancher.

They have confirmed that they plan to release the series across 3 English dubbed box-set collections starting in December 2013. They also plan on releasing the original Japanese audio with English subtitles in a 73 episode box-set at some point in 2014.

Monster Rancher based upon the video-game series, tells the story of a young boy named Genki who is transported into his Monster Rancher video-game to a world where monsters rule. Along with friends such as Holly, Mochi, Tiger, Golem and Hare, Genki must revive the Phoenix in order to defeat the Evil Overlord Monster known simply as Moo.

A part of the series had previously been released by ADV films on VHS and DVD, which left the series incomplete in home video format. That of course makes Discotek’s upcoming release the first time the series will be released in its entirety. Monster Rancher is available to watch on Hulu here if you can’t wait to get your hands on these releases.

We recently discussed the Monster Rancher series in a retrospective look back on the monster-taming genre, so it is certainly great news to see that the series will see a home video release after all this time. What more can I say? Monsters rule!
