Rising Star Games have just announced that they will be releasing a new title for the Nintendo 3DS, which is sure to excite fashionistas.
The game is Girl’s Fashion Shoot, a game that will immerse players into the world of fashion as they become a successful model and even launch their own fashion magazine.
You can create your own styles to model and articles to publish in your fashion magazine by playing as both a supermodel and a fashion magazine editor.
The money you earn can be then used to upgrade your wardrobe and apartment.
“This is a fabulous way for players to flex their flair for fashion. Not only are they putting together fierce looks for the runway, but also making sure those looks translate to the magazine page, so they’re sharpening their business acumen while being creative and having fun,” said Phil Robinson, the Vice President of Rising Star Games.
Girl’s Fashion Shoot is slated for release in Fall 2013, exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS console. So get ready fashionistas, it’s style time!
Procedural crime shows are quite, well procedural, hence the title of the genre. In the past decade or so procedural crimes have become these carbon copies of each other, spawning leagues of CSIs, Law and Orders and NCISs.
However, this year we’ve seen somewhat of a different type of crime show emerge from the typical American procedurals, shows that could – at a glance – be called them, but they truly have an astounding amount of depth and breadth to them. These shows are Hannibal and Elementary.
While these two shows deal with episodic crimes, wherein the criminal is usually caught at the end of the episode (even though a larger nemesis is part of a fuller story arc), there are far more to the shows than your usual straight-jawed cops and fantastical scientific evidence.
To be fair, the fact that Elementary has Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) as a lead character, already gives it a leg up. However, it is more than just the witty, sassy, sarcastic, genius detective that makes the show. While the first few episodes are in the process of finding their footing with the chemistry between Holmes and Joan Watson (Lucy Liu), the show has really hit its stride as it approaches the end of the first season.
The two leads bounce of each other beautifully and manage to have that line of clearly caring deeply for each other without having the sexual tension that every opposite sex pairing on television seems to have to have. It’s quite refreshing and lovely to watch the two in action.
The show itself is witty, well written, and extremely entertaining. It also handles the character’s darker moments very well, so that you are always distinctly aware of their depth and humanity. The later episodes have felt like a puzzle unwrapping slowly, and I guarantee you’re going to be drawn in like no tomorrow.
Quite a different beast from Elementary, Hannibal delivers us a show about a character made famous by novels and movies. Here is a story that, while it might seem too short sighted to run as a television show (as most shows that have a main character who is a serial killer, although Dexter disproves that), actually works quite brilliantly.
Now, unlike Elementary, Hannibal is still a relatively new show, but it has managed to weave a complex web of tales, characters and depth that extends far beyond the idea of Dr Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and his relations with a team of FBI agents that hunt serial killers.
Rather than having Hannibal as the secret villain who commits heinous crimes each week and laughs at the bumbling agents, the show does far better to explore the other characters as well as Hannibal’s charming, human side.
Of course there are plenty of gruesome murders, and the show is written with a charm and elegance that matches Hannibal’s upper class nature. Plus there’s a lot of interesting psychiatric explorations throughout the show that will keep you interested, beyond the gore. It’s like a crime drama show that you’d drink with a fine scotch while smoking a cigar.
So, if you’re in the market for a new crime show that’s different from the usual, then you should definitely check out these two shows, both of which represent different explorations of what crime shows can be and how much depth they can have.

Fans of Doctor Who will be absolutely enjoyed by a teaser image released by BBC over on the Official Doctor Who Facebook page. This image is a picture of the planet Gallifrey, which fans will remember as the homeworld of The Doctor and the rest of the Timelords.
While it is not yet known about the role that Gallifrey will play in the future, one thing is certainly clear. Gallifrey will be showcased in some way in a future Doctor Who related serial. Whether this is a story set in the Doctor Who series, or as a spin-off media, only time will tell.

If for some reason you have been sitting out on 2K and Irrational Games’ latest BioShock game, BioShock Infinite, then you are one of the few. Today it was revealed via Take-Two’s year-end financial report that the company had shipped over 3.7 million units of the title since it was released.
It is interesting to note that the company has stated that the game has seen “significantly” higher first-month sales than any other BioShock release in history. It is also worth noting that Take Two stated that the BioShock Infinite Season Pass has seen solid demand. It seems that Take-Two is pleased with the status of the BioShock series so far, though of course if it was Square Enix, they’d probably beclosing up shop.
As you may or may not know, as the rest of the surviving gaming publishers circled THQ’s freshly killed carcass, there were a number of rumors and finally a confirmation that Take-Two had acquired the company’s popular WWE gaming franchise.
Well today it was announced by 2K Games that WWE 2K14 will be released on October 29 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No other consoles were mentioned at the time of reveal but it is worth noting that Yuke’s will continue to work on the series. As for who will grace the cover this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be featured on the cover if Stephanie McMahon is to be believed.
Remember how last week it was discovered that the first gameplay footage for Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Twilight Sky would be shown off on Nico Nico Live today? Well it was, but there is a very good chance that most of you, like myself, ended up missing it due to various time frame differences.
However a helpful YouTube user was able to record all 46 minutes of gameplay footage that was shown off during the stream which provides us a look at the game’s crafting system, revamped combat and of course, the game in motion for the first time ever. Anyways, take a look at the video below and be wary of the rather loud commentators who speak over the game’s voicework and music.
Currently Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Dusk Sky is set to be released in Japan on June 27th and Tecmo Koei, owner of developer Gust, have yet to announce their plans for the series in the West.
Like seriously, it’s a massive spoiler, bigger than that Doctor Who one, you’ve been warned.
On Monday’s season 8 finale of How I Met Your Mother, ‘The Mother” was revealed….and CBS has confirmed it. Featured in the picture below (we don’t want to ruin it just yet), is a picture of a girl seen from Monday’s season finale. You may notice she has a yellow umbrella, and the same boots shown in season 8. She’s shown getting on a train to Farhampton, which lines up perfectly with Ted meeting her at the train station outside of Barney and Robin’s wedding. She also wears the boots we’ve seen previously and even has a yellow umbrella.
Ok, you ready?
Boom! That’s Cristin Milioti. She’s no stranger to the small screen, already appearing in shows like 30 Rock and The Good Wife. She even was nominated for a 2012 Tony award for her performance in The One.
So there you have it. Reckon she’s cute enough for Ted? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
Graphic designer Clay Gardner launched a Kickstarter on May the 8th for his newest role playing game, six days have passed and the project already has over $48,000 pledged to it.
OVA: The Anime Role Playing Game’s Kickstarter page describes the game as a tabletop RPG that was “lovingly crafted to capture the diverse worlds of Japanese animation.” Originally created in 2005 the game was met with praise; however Gardner wanted to re-create the game entirely, he has spent years taking out unnecessary items and adding new features to make the game more exciting.
OVAs character creation is one of the main features pushed for the game, the rules are said to be simple to understand and can be tailored to the character concept you had in mind.
Pledges start at $1 which gets you digital wallpapers and avatars of OVA, all pledges over $30 will get a PDF version and a hardcover full color copy of the actual game. People who contribute $125 will be giving the physical and digital versions of the game as well as 3 player books, dice and a dice pouch.
The initial goal for the project was $7,500 and has 34 more days to go before it closes. OVA currently have 956 backers, click here to check out the Kickstater page.
This week, we have a good number of eShop releases in store for the region down under, with a good number of classics coming to the Virtual Console for both the 3DS and Wii U, as well as a shiny new demo for the upcoming Resident Evil: Revelations on the Wii U.
Now, Resident Evil doesn’t drop for another week, but the demo should sell us on the new Wii U control schemes, and hopefully, it will be a smooth transition from the 3DS version. We also have another Level-5 romp this week, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and the age old favorite – Super Metroid that will cost well under a buck for a small period.
