Dark Souls II Final Beta Announcement

Dark-Souls-2

Last weekend was supposed to be the final Dark Souls II Beta, but after a hiccup with times and servers, players were unable to gain access until an hour later. With this in mind, Namco Bandai have graciously decided top reopen the doors to Lordran one final time.

The purposes of these betas has largely been to see if the game’s servers can handle the pressure of the amount of expected players. the Souls franchise offers a unique online experience that involves players leaving helpful (or harmful) messages on the ground, summoning other players to their aid in boss battles, or invading one another to see who is the best. All of this happens while playing the immense single-player experience, so it is vital that Namco has all the bugs ironed out by the time the game drops next year.

The final beta will take place on November 10th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm AEDT (Sydney time). So this is one final chance for players to gain access to the world of Dark Souls II before the game officially launches next March. In the mean time, check out our brief  Hands-On with Dark Souls II, as well as a tonne of new screenshots of the game below. As always, stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Dark Souls news as it becomes available.

Indie game developer Numantian Games, who’ve recently put their new RPG Lords of Xulima on IndieGoGo, announced today that they’ve launched a Kickstarter as well.

Lords of Xulima will feature a custom-made engine that supports isometric, detailed 2D backgrounds and 3D animations. It will also combine much of what has made the RPG genre so timeless over the years: a cross between non-linear, strategic PC games and story-driven Japanese RPGs. You will control the main character, who is guided by an odd dream, and his companions on an adventure set for an uncharted mythical island

The game will be released in both English and Spanish for PC, Mac, and Linux. To check out the Kickstarter page and help get this title off the ground, go here. To check the game out on Steam Greenlight, go here. Also be sure to check out the gallery of game-related images below!

First Basement Crawl Trailer Released

Basement-Crawl-01
Guess it lives up to its name…

Indie developers Bloober Team have released the first trailer for their upcoming exclusive PS4 title Basement Crawl. The strategic action game is said to feature challenging environments, competitive multiplayer and, as seen from the trailer, a number of creepy characters.

Basement Crawl features an unforgettable and entirely mesmerizing style with disturbing characters and spine-chilling settings. The game, however, forgoes exaggerated violence to create a sinisterly clever but engaging experience that remains both edgy and entertaining.

In the game, players will face-off – with up-to-eight players online or up-to-four via local play –in grid-based arenas as they race to set diabolical traps and explosives in order to hinder or defeat their enemies. Basement Crawl will feature four classes, each utilizing a variety of unique bombs and power-ups, allowing players to mix and match strategy for each class.

Even the text is creepy

The game itself is said to feature:

  • An Engagingly Unnerving Style – a ghoulish but entertaining presentation inspired by classic grindhouse movies, twisted horror films and even other games, such as Manhunt.
  • Classic Gameplay with a Modern Twist – brings together the best gameplay elements of classic titles like Bomberman with modern technology and online features.
  • Multiplayer – players can battle to be the best against others either locally for up-to-four competitors or online for up-to-eight contenders.
  • An Awesome Party Game – easy-to-learn gameplay and a focus on multiplayer fun makes Basement Crawl the perfect house-party fragfest.
  • Classes and Characters – the game features four unpredictable and macabre characters, each representing a unique class, and each sporting special abilities and skills.
  • 2.5D? – Basement Crawl is made with a 3D-engine, but presented in classic 2D, allowing players to control the position of the camera while enjoying dynamic lights and effects.
  • Arenas – nine uniquely hair-raising arenas are included for players to master and conquer, including the Slaughterhouse, Restaurant Dungeon, Abandoned Circus and more.
  • Online Features Include – Leaderboards for comparing highest scores with friends and other players; Party chat for PS4, Trophies, Invites, Ranks.

Basement Crawl will release within the PS4 launch window as one of the first new downloadable indie titles. Check out the trailer below and begin your descent into a twisted world or promises and darkness. It’s safer in here…

Attack On Titan Levi Figma First Images

Attack-On-Titan-Levi-01

Ah yes, another great piece of merchandise from Attack On Titan. We only recently saw Mikasa and Eren as Figma figurines and now we’ve been shown another Anime favourite; Levi. Good Smile Company only just released images of the Levi Figma Figurine in development and, although there’s no actual release date for the item, it is looking like it’s near the end of it’s development stage. You can assume by looking through the Figma track record that this item is going to be top quality and a great addition to what is going to be a colossal range of Attack On Titan merchandise.

Alongside shots of the Figma-made item comes a Nendoroid figurine of Levi, once again, it seems like an addition to the Eren and Mikasa Nendoroid figurines that we only recently saw. I have to say; they all look fantastic and they all seem to get well with one another so if you’re a big enough Attack On Titan fan I doubt you’ll be missing out on picking up one or all of these figurines. Stay tuned within the coming weeks and months because I’m sure we’ll be catching wind of a release date for these figures soon enough.

More Attack On Titan: The Last Wings Of Mankind Screenshots Released

- The Last Wings Of Humanity -
– The Last Wings Of Mankind –

The release of the Attack On Titan: The Last Wings Of Mankind 3DS game is slowly creeping up on us with it set for an Official Japanese release on the 5th of December, we really havn’t seen a great deal but as the weeks and months go by we are seeing more and more screenshots that are telling us more about this game each time. As of right now I’d say the excitement level for the title isn’t too high but I can see it rising the closer it gets to release.

The screenshots released shows a Titan takedown in action as Eren locks-on to a Titans neck and goes in for the kill, the targeting system actually looks pretty impressive and I can’t wait to see some actual video footage. Alongside a screenshot of character customization is a screenshot that actually shows Eren in his Titan form which means we may get a chance to let loose as a Titan within the game. The game still looks like it needs a bit of work and fleshing out but that’s just my opinion, let us know what you think about Attack On Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind in our comments section below.
