Today NIS America has released a few new screenshots for The Witch and the Hundred Knight, which seem to show how Metallia and Visco will interact with one another in the game, as well as about a half minute of gameplay footage which shows off some of the game’s combat mechanics, both of which can be found below.
Currently The Witch and the Hundred Knight is set to be released on the PlayStation 3 on March 25 in North America and while gamers in Europe will be able to pick up the title a few days earlier on March 21st.
Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that they are going to do something very interesting with Dance in the Vampire Bund. While they already own the license to release the original manga in North America, they have announced that they will be releasing two doujinshi collections for the series which were previously only available for purchase at Comiket and have never been assembled together in one single release, even in Japan.
They will be releasing these works in two bundles, Dance in the Vampire Bund: Forgotten Tales which is 192 pages of uncollected manga with lots of bonus material to thrill fans and that release will be available in June 2014. As for the second work, set to be released in October 2014, it is 280 pages in length and is titled Dance in the Vampire Bund: Secret Chronicles. This work features unpublished canonical short-stories that were overseen and illustrated by the series’ creator Nozomi Tamaki, as well as other bonus material.
Nagi no Asukara Episode 16 – The Whispers of the Faraway Waves
I’m so glad Nagi no Asukara is continuing this anime season. I don’t think there’s anything else currently airing that’s quite like it. It truly has become something really precious as we progress into the second half. By temporarily removing some of the main characters, Nagi no Asukara has the time to develop minor characters that are proving to be more interesting. The pace of the show has slowed and every turn along the way is becoming more eye-opening and full of purpose.
As Hikari rejoins his class, now full of kids that were once five years younger, he becomes his usual self. Cracking jokes while classmates admire their new “senpai”. He’s also in the same class as his step-niece, Miuna, and her cheeky friend Sayu. This episode is heavily centred on these two girls who once looked to Hikari as their elder but now stand on equal footing.
More specifically, it’s about Miuna’s so-far unrequited love for Hikari which might be incredibly problematic considering he is her uncle. Even if he is a step-uncle. As the two head into the city to get new school uniform for Hikari, Miuna invites her friend Sayu to tag along in order to dispel the awkwardness of the trip looking like a date.
As they wander the city, Miuna and Hikari bicker like a married couple causing Sayu to feel a little and frustrated and wondering why Miuna even invited her in the first place. She can clearly see Miuna’s feelings for Hikari, who is a little dense and can’t seem to realise this himself.
We really see Miuna’s dedication to Hikari when she insists to the tailor to make his old white and blue uniform that the sea friends wore to school, rather than the brown and white which is worn by their surface-dwelling classmates.
Admittedly, this causes more of a fuss than was necessary and Sayu finally has enough. Confronting Miuna outside, she is forced to be the one to tell her that a niece can’t marry her uncle. Sorry guys, it just can’t be done. Although there’s something really intriguing about this love, to the extent that I’m enjoying this a lot more than when Manaka was around.
More importantly, Sayu lets out some pent up feelings. She is frustrated that only Hikari has returned for Miuna, while her childhood crush Kaname is still missing. The two have an argument while Hikari abandons the plan to buy new uniform and arrives in time to see Miuna run off.
On the way back, Hikari catches up to Miuna and comforts her in his usual carefree way. Just when Miuna has something important to say (confession?), a great big crane collapses around them, throwing Miuna into the ocean. Just when you think she will either drown or Hikari’s hand will come plunging down to grab her, a miracle happens. She develops an ena instantly and can swim just like Hikari.
How does this happen when only direct residents of the Shioshishio can breathe underwater? We don’t yet know but it was one heck of a powerful moment. Miuna is excited and wants to tell Akari about her new found ability and happily makes up with Sayu who feared the worst and started bawling her eyes out.
Following the trend of every episode ending with an impact, it ends with the return of a familiar male character. Kaname emerges near the tailor shop in the city, suitably nude and ready for action. Sayu’s lost crush, and Chisaki’s admirer, has finally returned. It will be interesting to see what he makes of the new and matured Chisaki, who we didn’t really see much of this episode.
Wait, that’s not news… how about this? One of the games on sale is an indie horror title.
Really? That common, huh?
Alright, well how about a Steam sale for an indie horror title set in a tron-esque virtual reality setting which now comes with an art book and soundtrack at 50% off? AHA! Now I’ve got you, and that’s exactly what’s happening with Wales Interactive’s Master Reboot.
The setting of Master Reboot takes place in a virtual reality known as ‘The Soul Cloud’, wherein a copy of your consciousness (or “soul”) is uploaded to a dedicated server where you it can exist for an indefinite amount of time. With this digital immortality, you can while away the hours revisiting your favourite memories of family holidays, childhood innocence, romantic encounters, and desperate chases through graveyards by shadowy spectres. Considering that we get closer and closer to a reality with virtual reality, with technology such as the Oculus Rift, where our hands-on impressions can be found here, sci-fi settings like this become a little less ‘fi’ all the time… although I sincerely hope I won’t be murdered by such monstrosities when I finally make the jump to cyberspace residence.
You can obtain the game on Steam here, and see a trailer for it below. The game has an interesting idea and the prospect of concept art for a game which explores a surreal world of virtual reality horror is most definitely an intriguing incentive to buy the game but I’ll leave it to you, my faithful reader, to decide whether a trip in ‘The Soul Cloud’ is your shindig…
In last year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Time of the Doctor, we bid a fond farewell to the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith and welcomed his replacement; Peter Capaldi, who will be jumping into the TARDIS and flying through space both on screen, and in Titan Comics newly announced graphic novel series.
The part of the Doctor is always very iconic, and that goes beyond just the man, but is very much captured by what he wears. Well, today the BBC have given us our first glimpse of what he 12th Doctor will be donning through his tenure … and here it is:
Very sleek don’t you think? The costume looks like it is heavily inspired by John Pertwee’s 3rd Doctor (which isn’t surprising, considering Capaldi is a very old school Doctor Who fan). Speaking about the costume to BBC, Capaldi had this to say:
He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.
With that in mind, will we see a more bad-ass Doctor? Only time will tell. In the mean time, let us know in the comments below what you think of the outfit, and how you think the series will go from here. As always, be sure to stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Doctor Who news as it becomes available.
Late last year a little game developer by the name of Brian Provinciano, who just so happens to be the creator of “Retro City Rampage“, announced that his super old-school, action/adventure, 80s throwback title will be getting a release on the leading portable device in out generation; the Nintendo 3DS, yet nowhere within his announcement was there word of a release date…that’s no longer the case though because, within a new announcement via Twitter, it has been confirmed that the game will have its release in February, though no EXACT date was given.
Unfortunately it seems as though this game will not be using the systems 3D capabilities as it would be far too hard to rebuild the entire graphic system all from scratch, Provinciano said it himself in a previous statement. Once again, “Retro City Rampage” is set for a release sometime within February on the 3DS and will go for $9.99 though you can expect prices to be different depending on where you are in the world.
Last year saw the release of a set of “Attack On Titan” mini figures that were distributed randomly through capsule machines and, despite being available to almost anyone with some loose change, the figurines were quite graphic much like the actual Anime. Now it’s 2014 and these mini figures are back for a second round, this time the figures aren’t AS graphic but the scenes portrayed in the miniatures are just as freaking awesome and just as detailed. There are four of them this time around and, even though most of us reading this don’t actually live in Japan, I’m sure they’ll be available to purchase online as soon as they’re put into capsule machines around Japan in March.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot seems to be coming along nicely as Ubisoft has just announced that players have been faithfully looting each others castles as the three playable characters; The Knight, The Mage, and The Archer. Though apparently players have been favoring The Knight more, but who can really blame them with a name as great as Sir Painhammer.
But, now starts a new kind of experience for the three playable characters as The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot will be entering Open Beta next month, so even more players will be able to join in completely for free. This event will mark more than just an Open Beta however as players will also be able to try out the fourth playable character for the first time, The Runaway.
Players looking to join in can mark February 25th, 2014 as the date for the start of The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot‘s Open Beta-ness. On that day players will be able to download the game and join in looting each other to their heart’s content.
Titan Comics are extremely excited to announce that another one of their hit comics, “The Absence“, is about to be released and it just so happens to only be a day or two away…depending on where in the world you live. “The Absence”, written and illustrated by Martin Stiff, is an odd and horrific comic that revolves around an English coastal village and an odd man that returns after many years of being missing. The comic won an award for “Best Comic” last year at the 2013 British Comic Awards so you can see why Titan Comics are ready for it to hit public shelves. For those of you out there who haven’t heard of the comic, we have the official synopsis below:
As a coastal village in southern England struggles to recover from the
losses of war, it is rocked by the return of a man long hoped dead: the disfigured Marwood Clay.
In a place where everybody hides a guilty past, and unspeakable past crimes lurk just beneath the surface… what terrible secrets has this exile brought back with him? And what happened during his absence? While Marwood struggles to rebuild his life, newcomer Dr. Robert Temple builds a strange house for himself, on the hill overlooking the town. Clay is consumed by a nightmarish past he cannot remember, Temple by visions of a future he cannot prevent.
And then a young boy vanishes on Christmas Day. A masterpiece in jagged, haunted storytelling tinged with horror and
pathos, this acclaimed series is collected here for the first time and is for anyone who loves their tales loaded with menace and shadows!
As mentioned above; the comic is set for a release on he 29th of January and will be sold in all good comic book retailers for $19.99, expect some price changes depending on where you are in the world but the assumption is that it will be as close to that price as possible.
