Tripwire Presents, the publishing division of Tripwire Interactive, and independent Turkish developer BEF Games today announced the launch of the ‘Be the Boss’ update for their open world action-simulation and management game, The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire on PC via Steam Early Access. Available now, the latest update expands systemic corruption across Night City, dealing out major changes to how players build, protect and scale their criminal empires. 

Following a year of Early Access development, the developer and publisher also announced that the game will be leaving Early Access and formally launching into 1.0 for PC via Steam on Oct. 27, 2026. The ‘Be the Boss’ content update includes:

• Rival Family System Rework: Rival families now have visible Power and Economic Strength values that directly influence how they operate. Players can weaken enemy economies and force rival families to rely on lower-tier weapons and equipment, creating new ways to prepare for war before launching a direct attack.
• Expanded Spy & Intelligence Operations: Send spies into rival organizations to uncover valuable intelligence including the locations of rival family members, members travelling around the city, hidden stash houses and upcoming criminal trades. Use this information to raid enemy stashes, ambush deals and financially sabotage rival families.
• Family Wars & Territory Defense Improvements: Rival family members can now personally join attacks and defensive operations. Players can assign their own family members to patrol controlled territories, automatically reinforce defenses when attacks begin and attempt to recapture lost locations.
• Captures, Interrogation & Diplomacy: Both player and rival family members can now be captured during family operations. Captured enemies can be interrogated for valuable intelligence or taken to the Construction Site and permanently dealt with. Family Power and Economic Strength also influence diplomacy, allowing players or rival families to propose ceasefires depending on the balance between both sides.
• Refined Heat & Smarter Cops: Police now track wanted states per character rather than marking the entire crime family. Police will also target whoever starts a fight, giving players more room to let rivals make the first move. Patrol officers can now be found throughout Night City, where players can bribe them to improve police relations or temporarily reduce police presence in a specific district.
• Bulletproofing the Family: Arm the player and family members with purchasable or craftable bulletproof vests to improve survival in heavy gunfights. Club and Warehouse guards can also now be armed and upgraded through their profiles.
• Expanded Warehouse Operations: Set packaging priorities for products created in Lab Rooms, allowing players to choose which products should be packaged first. Warehouse staffing limits have also been expanded to support up to nine Chemists and eight Handlers.

• New Game! tinyBuild announced The Crab is Walking, a roguelite kingdom builder and autobattler set atop giant crustaceans from the makers of The King is Watching.Merge buildings, unlock upgrades, and reshape your settlement as you traverse a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
• New Game! Playable! tinyBuild revealed a new publishing deal for Road to Jukai, previously known as Silent Road, a psychological night-shift taxi driving horror game set in Japan and coming in 2027. Try out the game in the new playtest, available now on Steam!
• The King is Watching revealed a new update adding Steam Deck optimization to the roguelite kingdom building strategy game, available now. Check out the trailer!
• The nostalgic electronics repair game ReStory is celebrating 500k copies sold with a new accolades trailer announcing upcoming content, including a new device and a new customer in a free update coming September 21.  
• Playable! Dinosaur survival FPS Ferocious launched on XBOX Series X|S and PlayStation 5!
• Get a new look at supernatural handyman simulator The Lift with the premiere of a brand-new story trailer, taking a deeper look at The Institute and offering more cryptic clues for the game’s storyline. The Lift is launching in 2027 on Steam, PS5, and XBOX Series X|S.
• Playable! tinyBuild announced that the acclaimed home renovation game Hozy is coming to XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch later this year. The free “Hideaways” DLC, featuring three new levels, is also available now on Steam!
• Open-world survival game Trainfort got a new trailer revealing a new upcoming playtest. Players can sign up for it now on Steam.
• Playable! tinyBuild announced a new anniversary update for the strategic planet-mining game Drill Core, adding quality-of-life improvements and more, now on Steam, XBOX Series X|S, and PS5.
• SAND: Raiders of Sophie celebrated its successful launch on Steam Early Access earlier this year with a new accolades trailer and announced a major new content update dropping later this month.
• Playable! Two new restaurants and Trial by Fryer, a new team-based PvP mode, have been added to the co-op cooking horror game Happy’s Humble Burger Cult, available now on Steam! Face off against the enemy team in a surreal cooking show, sabotage their kitchen, fight for ingredients, and become the best team of chefs in Trial by Fryer.
• Playable! A November 4 launch date was announcedfor Hull Rupture, the base management tower defense roguelike from Konfa Games. Try out the updated demo now on Steam!
• Playable! A new trailer dropped for the cyberpunk shop simulator Probably Stolen, revealing an October 28 launch date and brand-new demo, playable now on Steam!
• Of Ash and Steel, the open-world RPG inspired by the classics of the genre, is coming to XBOX Series X|S and PlayStation 5 soon. A new expansion – “Shattered Faith” – is also in development, bringing true magic to the Kingdom of the Seven.
• Playable! tinyBuild released a brand-new demo on PC and consoles for the accurately inaccurate cemetery simulator Graveyard Keeper 2, launching September 22 on PC and consoles! Play the demo now with all progress carrying over to the game at launch! (Demo Trailer)
