Na’Vi Gets World Champions’ Title After Hard-Fought Battle Against Virtus.Pro
Winners of Wargaming.net League Grand Finals defined
April 8, 2014 — Wargaming today announced the results of the first Wargaming.net League Grand Finals, which took place in Warsaw, Poland, on April 4–6.
Newly-crowned world champions in World of Tanks, Na’Vi, took home the prize money of approximately $110,000 after they beat Virtus.Pro. The runner-up tank squad won nearly $100,000, while the third-place finisher, The RED Rush: Unity, walked away with about $40,000.
“Over the past three days we’ve seen the truly best World of Tanks teams from around the world battle for what can only be considered world domination,” said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming. “I congratulate Na’Vi on their superb performance and thank the city of Warsaw and eSports fans around the world for making this Grand Finals such a monumental success.”
14 top-performing tank squads from around the world competed in a keenly watched contest that spanned over three days, with numerous exciting matches, including stellar play by the hometown favorite Lemming Train. The two of the frontrunners, Na’Vi and Vitus.Pro, rose to the top of the ranks and engaged in a series of smart, tactical battles that constantly tested each team’s resolve and concentration. Na’Vi’s superior teamwork and dead-eye precision proved too much for Virtus.Pro, granting Na’Vi the first place and the title.
“We knew from the first game that the competition would be fierce,” said Dmitry “de1uxe” Repin, the captain of Na’Vi. “We respect each and every team that has made it here to Warsaw, especially Virtus.Pro. Winning at the Grand Finals is a dream come true for us, and we are extremely excited to take home the title of world champions and look forward to defending our title in future.”
The eSports festival had thousands avid fans supporting their favourite teams at the Multikino Zlote Tarasy cinema and millions of spectators tuning in to watch the Grand Finals on Twitch.

Overview
Since the debut of the series on the PlayStation 3, Infamous has become a staple hit in Sony’s library. Mixing the superhero narrative with an open world and a morality system has proven to be a winner thus far, so fans were more than a little excited when Infamous: Second Son was announced for the PS4. By dropping the numbered title and introducing a wildly different protagonist, does Second Son prove to be a new birth on Sony’s latest console?
Story
The player is thrust seven years after the events of the previous game and the world is looking no better. The Department of Unified Protection (D.U.P.) is an organisation formed to stamp out the remaining Conduits, or Bio-terrorists as they’re known. Led by the shrewd and brilliantly-voiced Brooke Augustine, who is a Conduit herself, this authoritarian security force is the main enemy in the game and has seemingly unlimited funds as you smash your way through billions of dollars of men and resources.
You play as Delsin Rowe, a cocky graffiti artist and local trouble maker of his small, Akomish Indian community. His brother Reggie is the town sheriff and is tired of arresting Delsin over and over again. You can imagine what kind of conversations are on offer between the two for the rest of the game; constant arguments and banter that resembles a game of tennis, in which Delsin often proves to be the winner.
While entertaining to an extent, it can get very wearisome to hear bickering rather than a decent conversation in each cutscene. Once he acquires his powers, Delsin’s comic book-hero character is presented in the most typical and arrogant way. The offhand remarks in dangerous situations will remind you of adventurous characters like Nathan Drake, so it’s hard not to have fun with the script. He does grow as a person however, depending on which “karma” path you choose, whether it be good or evil.
Delsin embarks on a vendetta against the dictatorial Augustine in what is a very personal affair. In order to save his aunt Betty along with other victims who have suffered from Augustine’s concrete super powers, he must acquire the power himself. Along the way he defeats other Conduits, who serve as key characters in the plot, and borrows their powers in order to grow stronger.
Interspersed within the story are themes such as segregation and drug abuse (Delsin can disrupt the drug trade in the city for good karma) but it’s all presented in a fairly obvious way and the superhero narrative doesn’t allow for much thinking when you’re wrecking havoc.
The story is as you would expect from a AAA, first party title. The presentation and cinematic direction is up there among all high budget exclusives and the script is movie-like, albeit pedestrian. Even with its motion-capped cutscenes, Infamous: Second Son won’t win any awards for its by-the-(comic) book storyline.
Gameplay
It’s a lot of fun. While unwieldy and awkward at first, especially when you’re limited to just the Smoke power, you’ll soon be having a blast rapid-firing lasers, swinging digital swords and whirling your way up buildings in a vortex of colour.
Fundamentally, this is a third-person action game with parkour elements, though I have to say the climbing is more frustrating than practical. Delsin is limited to just leaping around as if in low gravity, meaning you don’t get that fluid hand-over-hand climbing like in Assassin’s Creed. In the end, you will resort to just using your powers in order to barrel your way up across obstacles.
The upgrade system works by collecting shards which in turn give you new abilities and increase your power gauge although it’s a little easy to max out your character. Entirely new tricks are learned along the way according to the story. Enemies are numerous and you might find yourself scurrying away often and waiting for the regenerative health to kick in. The battles can be awesome, especially with earth-powered soldiers flinging themselves into the air forming arches behind them, just like in the anime Full Metal Alchemist.
Second Son breaks no boundaries with its core gameplay. You have a large map, Seattle, which is dominated by the D.U.P. via bases which you must destroy in order to win over parts of the city. This can actually be pretty repetitive as you destroy the same-looking base with the exact same animation every time. The bosses are a nice change to the open world gameplay, giving players a challenge in classic boss arenas which can be visually spectacular.
One major feature is the karma system which, unfortunately, follows the cookie-cutter route of Good or Evil with nothing in between. You either select the blue option or the red option and players that aim for either path will choose whatever colour they’re after, negating any moral decision-making. It would have been much better if the game didn’t spell out every choice it gave you, and even then it’s fairly obvious. Regardless, both good and bad karma paths result in different play styles (subduing or outright killing enemies) as well as different abilities being available so there is a strong incentive to go back and play it again.
Visuals
To put it simply, this is the game to show off your new PS4 and TV. Second Son is a beautiful game to look at with Seattle highly detailed, faces motion-capped and some of the best particle effects you’ll see on a console. Although Delsin’s character design wouldn’t have been my pick if I was in charge as some of the striking concepts looked much cooler. This is of course subjective though and your eyes would honestly have nothing to complain about the graphics here. Instead, they’ll relish it.
I noticed some framerate dips, though not unacceptable, during heavy action and it changes depending on the environment. Logically, once the sun sets or you enter indoors the game runs silky smooth.
Audio
Along with the graphics, sound design is also a high point with on-screen action and superpowers firing off impressive zaps and bangs, the sound track containing surprisingly cool tracks and voice acting that’s on a silver screen level. The game also makes great use of the PS4’s controller speaker when recharging powers or when Delsin’s phone rings.
Overall
There is a lot of fun to be had in Infamous: Second Son with its creative super powers, comic book humour and swish graphics. However, the bog standard open world system feels like it’s crying out “me too!” and there isn’t all that much players can do in the recreated Seattle once the dust settles. The karma system also feels lazy when it comes to making moral decisions, even though it’s a fundamental mechanic in the combat system and affects the story in one of two ways.
While it’s not an earth-shattering entry in the series and a little late to the next-gen party, this is still the most fun you will have with your PS4 right now.

Overview Despite the PlayStation Vita being around since early 2012, the only Dynasty Warriors game to be released on the handheld was Dynasty Warriors NEXT. With Tecmo Koei letting Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires and the original Dynasty Warriors 8 pass by, fans were concerned that they might not be seeing another Warriors game for the Vita. However that is not the case and now that Tecmo Koei has released Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is it worth picking up for the handheld?
Story The reason this release is called the Complete Edition is because this title includes both the Xtreme Legends content as well as the original content found in Dynasty Warriors 8. This means that players have access to not only the entire storylines of the Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin kingdoms but also the newly added storyline following Lu Bu right off the bat.
Each of the kingdom’s storylines follow a certain path and players can witness various events occur as they make their way through each storyline, though additional “What If’ scenarios are unlocked if the player happens to complete certain secret objectives in stages and give players a different take on things which is a nice refreshing twist on the well-trodden Romance of the Three Kingdoms storyline.
However the big highlight of Xtreme Legends is the fact that the company has chosen to focus on one of the most recognizable characters in the Dynasty Warriors series by giving him his own real storyline for the first time. I am talking of course about Lu Bu. He has been given his own storyline along with a few new characters to help expand his story and keep things fresh.
Along with Lu Bu’s story a few extra story segments have also been included for the other kingdoms, as well as a new character each, which means that despite this being mostly the same story for returning fans, there is hours of additional story battles waiting to be played through for those who might have simply picked up the Vita version for its additional content but countless hours for those who are just jumping in for the first time.
Gameplay With an absolutely staggering number of characters to play as Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition takes advantage of all of the refinements made to the game’s combat system back when Dynasty Warriors 8 was first released. This means that the weapon affinity system where Heaven, Man, and Earth affinity weapons are played off of one another in a triangle system where weapons can be ineffective and do less damage, not knockback enemies, and leave players open for counterattacks or be powerful and do more damage and ensnare enemies into a whirlwind style attack called Storm Rush.
The other returning improvements including a Rage meter that allows the player to, when the meter is full, enter a state that allows the player to move fast, deal strong damage with normal attacks, barely take any damage from enemies, and unleash a wave of Musou style attacks until their rage meter is emptied and the ability to call and mount your horse without breaking stride by holding the button remain in the game.
Interestingly enough, Rage can be activated by tapping the Rage meter, summoning your horse can be handled either through Select or touching the screen and holding it to mount, and you can even adjust the view of the map by tapping the map on the game’s touch screen. It is also worth noting that this release does not feature the gimmicks that were implemented in NEXT involving the touch screen for Musou attacks or for taking down ambushing enemies. In fact the touch screen can be completely forgone if the player wishes to do so in this release.
Most of the new and refined gameplay in Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends comes from the new characters introduced to the game this time around, a couple of new battlegrounds, enhancements to other game modes, and the ability to bring up to three bodyguards into battle that can be managed to fit your playstyle. With this release we see Lu Linqi, Lu Bu’s daughter, Chen Gong, Fa Zheng, Zhu Ran, and Yu Jin enter the fray for the first time and with them come a few new weapons and some returning favorites.
Chen Gong uses a Tactic Scroll that is absurd in more than one way as its basic attacks see him attacking enemies with the unwinding scroll but these combos can be extended by summoning archers, lancers, and cavalry to attack enemies as well. Continuing with the odd weapons, Fa Zheng wields a cloth tapestry weapon that allows him to whip enemies with the cloth, tie them up with it and even throw it like a magic carpet at times. Moving away from the strange weaponry we have more conventional weapons such as Zhu Ran’s flame bow which is a more fast paced bow weapon, Yu Jin who uses a conventional trident that players have seen before, and a returning fan favorite with Lu Linqi wielding Lu Bu’s old cross-pike to great effect.
Moving away from the new characters, some old characters have been given extra EX attacks, rare and difficult to obtain six star weaponry has been added into the title, and the game now features a level cap of 150 compared to 99 which is useful if you feel like challenging the “Ultimate” difficulty mode which takes the already ridiculous difficulty of Chaos to an indescribable level, though the ability to fuse weapons now also helps the player a bit since players can choose to fuse together weaponry to create their ultimate weapon with the best status effects and attached skills, though doing so will require a lot of grinding.
Said grinding is going to be done through the game’s Ambition mode which has remained the same to begin with but features an entirely new post-Tongqueitai section. While the player still needs to complete the same tasks in Ambition mode to build that building, once they do so they are able to take advantage of a stripped down conquest mode where they can battle it out to gain more territory in battles that are different from your standard fair and help change things up a bit.
With these modes all wrapped up there is also the inclusion of a Challenge mode that allows the player to take on a number of fun little game types that see the player trying to compete for the best score and post it up on the leaderboards. Free Mode has also been touched up a bit to make playing through stages have additional goals besides simply completing the fight.
Visuals Despite the fact that Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition has been released onto the Vita, the game’s graphics do not suffer all that much compared to the basic PlayStation 3 release of Xtreme Legends. In fact if you focus on the detail of the playable characters’ armor some of the armor appears more detailed on the Vita than on the PS3 release. This is especially true when it comes to the new characters.
As for the actual battles and slowdown worries, it appears that although the Vita can manage to place a lot of enemies on the screen at any given time, there are quite a few times that enemies will pop up out of nowhere because of the handheld’s limitations and elements of slowdown are more common on this release than the basic PlayStation 3 release.
Audio With the release of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition the English voice work for the characters in the game’s battles remain the same and similar to the past release, all of the story intro during the load screens does not feature any voice work which means players will need to be reading these events. The newly added characters voice actors are suitable for the game and fall into their roles well, which is good since Lu Bu’s group is focused on so heavily this time around.
The game’s signature background music returns throughout Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends with countless pieces of background music that make it hard to actually pick a favorite. Each song has its own sound but they tend to fall to the wayside when everything sounds like fast paced background rock that is suitable for slaying thousands of soldiers.
Overall If you haven’t picked up the original Dynasty Warriors 8 for whatever reason or simply want a great hack and slash action game to play on the Vita then Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is the game for you. This release contains an exceptional amount of content for newcomers to Dynasty Warriors 8 and even returning players will find a slew of new content waiting for them. Sure it might feel a bit repetitive at times but the portable nature of the Vita makes this game a great way to slay thousands of enemies on the go or sink countless hours into at home.

Overview Many people can look at the Dynasty Warriors games and believe that Tecmo Koei is milking the franchise since almost every numbered release is accompanied by usually two subsequent releases with additional content. With Dynasty Warriors 8 hitting shelves in the middle of last year, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is already in for an uphill battle but has Omega Force added enough to this game to make it worthwhile?
Story Now as you should notice from the name of this review and the information shown above, this review is for the PlayStation 3 version of the game that does not feature the “Complete Edition.” This means that unless the player has a save file from the original Dynasty Warriors 8, a game that was available for both the PS3 and 360 at launch, then they will find themselves stunted as far as the game’s story missions are concerned.
You see, if the player does not have a Dynasty Warriors 8 save file, the main story missions for the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin are locked although various side missions for each story are still playable. If you do have a save file from the original game, then you can access all of this content without any issue.
However the big highlight of Xtreme Legends is the fact that the company has chosen to focus on one of the most recognizable characters in the Dynasty Warriors series by giving him his own real storyline for the first time. Visuals It is worth noting that since this review is for the PlayStation 3 version of the game the graphics are going to be similar to what was found in Dynasty Warriors 8. That being said, the last time I reviewed the game was on the Xbox 360 and compared to that version, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends does not experience any of the slowdown in Ambition mode that the other title did, but it does drag a bit during intense battles or when unleashing an area clearing rage fueled musou attack.
As for the actual character designs and looks of the fighters and stages, they remain the same as before though the new characters look quite impressive in this release, with Lu Linqui, Chen Gong, and Fa Zheng really standing out.
Audio With the release of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends the English voice work for the characters in the game’s battles remain the same and similar to the past release, all of the story intro during the load screens does not feature any voice work which means players will need to be reading these events. Overall Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends may be just another re-release to some but for many it is a great way to keep highlighting what makes the series worthwhile. By focusing on one of the more popular characters and making Lu Bu’s story the forefront of this release, though it might be the only story if you do not import your Dynasty Warriors 8 save data, players have additional story content to go through as well as a decent amount of new content to explore and some brand new fighters to enter the fray with.

Remember the episode 10 extra where we got an introduction to the vice president of the student council? Well it’s time you met the new student council president Sumi Otokawa, or Sumisumi for short (much to her annoyance, and to Ikenos’ amusement). Now that Mitsuki is now longer president, Sumisumi is put in charge; the first task at hand is organizing a special event for the seniors’ graduation ceremony. This proves to be a fairly difficult task due to the low budget of the closing down school. Ikeno then introduces Haruka to the president as she is planning the (no longer) surprise for Mitsuki and can offer some helpful suggestions, this includes walking up to the schools senior block and finding out what popular trends are occurring.
There is a great scene at the beginning of this half where Yuu is talking about how close she and Mitsuki have gotten recently; little does she know this is just so her older sister can inspect her from up close, a simple misunderstanding that leaves Haruka jealous. Apart from that scene I found the rest of the first half to be pretty dull, there is a good set up involving the seniors and eating pudding which will be looked at again in the second half, but what really bring out the suspense is within the last five minutes.
After the new president and Yuu fondle Harukas’ boobs, Haruka confronts Yuu on what it is she really loves, this leads to the most passionate kiss the couple have ever had. Once they finish their intense moment of intimacy they immediately freeze in fear, standing behind them in plain shock is vice president Rina and ex-president/Yuu’s older sister Mitsuki.
11-B Sakura-Coloured Truth
It’s actually quite appropriate how Mitsuki; granted that given her usual reactions when Haruka Is involved, you would expect something more over the top. The build-up to Mitsuki finding out about the two girls was gradual and now that she knows the truth, she can deliver the appropriate protective sister justice… Haruka is no longer allowed to kiss Yuu, wait what?
Given her stand on lesbian relationships and the fact that her younger sister is involved in one, not being allowed to kiss (still being around each other is okay) doesn’t feel like that strong of a decision. It could be argued that for Haruka and Yuu this is a major issue, plus considering the series itself didn’t really dive into too much emphasis when dramatic issues were shown, not being allowed to kiss will be as dramatic as the anime gets (until the last episode). Despite what Mitsuki said, the girls do find a way to kiss each other in gym class by pretending to trip over whilst practising to dance. I did enjoy this part of the show however it wasn’t because of Haruka and Yuu; Ikeno was asked by Mitsuki to watch over the two girls yet fails at monitoring them because of Iizuka blatantly showing off how good she is at dancing.
Gym class is only the first part of this story and it’s time to move on to Mitsuki. During lunchtime, she decided to buy two green tea puddings and wants to eat them with Yuu, it is during this time Sumi appears and we find out why all the seniors are obsessed with eating the stuff. Rina once told Mitsuki that eating pudding helps you concentrate whilst studying, it may have been a joke but because Mitsuki started doing it the rest of the senior girls imitated this technique. It was shown in 11-A that the seniors were studying so it was only natural to assume the other girls want good grades, however they really only eat the pudding because they believe their boobs will become as big as Mitsukis’ if they eat what she does. Not the best gag, but it was worth the brief build-up to the overall joke.
This story ends with Sumi and Mitsuki talking about Haruka; Sumi suggests that Mitsuki isn’t being completely honest with how she feels and needs to say it out loud. This comes as a surprise to no one when Mitsuki admits that she is in love with Haruka. In all honesty I feel like this is a forced love triangle and is just unnecessary for the show; there were other ways to build up the drama between Mitsuki, Haruka and Yuu and this one doesn’t work and is just boring. To be fair the last episode does take this to another level and ends on a good note, all will be revealed in the last impression post.

Today Activision has released a new trailer and a set of new screenshots for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the focus of these new pieces of media happen to be none other than Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin, though a few character profiles for other villains have also been released. He has hired an armed task force to take down any “masked menaces” that appear in the city no matter who they are.
You can check out the new content below and keep an eye out for the game itself when it is released on April 29th in North America and May 2nd in Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC.
EA and the UFC have not only joined together in announcing the official release date of EA Sports UFC, but also that “The Father of Mixed Martial Arts”, Bruce Lee, will be playable. Those who pre-order the title for either the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive instant day one access to legend, as opposed to needing to complete Career Mode on Pro difficulty to unlock him.
The original dragon (sorry Lyoto Machida) will be up for selection across four different weight classes, meaning that you’ll be able to play out more than a few dream matches. To see Bruce Lee’s in-game likeness in motion, check out the EA Sports UFC Gameplay Series: Bruce Lee Reveal trailer embedded at the bottom of this article. Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, CEO of Bruce Lee, LLC and Chairperson of the Bruce Lee Foundation, Dana White, UFC President and Brian Hayes, Creative Director, EA all had words to share on the inclusion;
I am so excited about this opportunity to bring my father back to video games! I’m thrilled that fans can now interact with him in a new way. The EA Sports UFC development team has been incredible to work with, and they’ve done a great job capturing the look and feel of my father. I think people will love getting a chance to fulfil a fight fantasy by playing Bruce Lee in the new UFC game. – Shannon Lee
There’s no debate, Bruce Lee is the father of mixed martial arts. He believed not one style of fighting was the best and that you had to have a little piece of everything to be a complete fighter. He was proven right when the first UFC event took place in 1993. – Dana White
It has always been part of our vision to have Bruce Lee, the most iconic martial artist of all time, in the first ever EA Sports UFC. The team is very excited and tremendously honored to have the privilege of bringing Bruce Lee to life in our game. We’ve been working closely with the Bruce Lee team to ensure we represent the legend with as much visual and gameplay fidelity as possible. – Brian Hayes
EA Sports UFC releases in Australia and New Zealand for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 19 and June 20 respectively. Speaking of, fellow Aussie and Kiwi fight fans should check out Mark Hunt’s in-game reveal as well!
