Today during their panel at Anime Expo, NIS America revealed that they are planning on bringing over Nippon Ichi Software’s The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. This is the sequel to The Guided Fate Paradox which we have previously talked about as The Guided Fate Cross Thesis.

The company announced that they are planning on getting The Awakened Fate Ultimatum released in North America and Europe in spring 2015. NIS America describes the game as such:

Several years after a certain revolution came to pass, and the powerful Satanael was defeated, the devils were still dominant in their constant war against the angels. Meanwhile, a certain Celestia was resorting to guerilla warfare to survive. They focused on researching a way to create a “God” to use as their ultimate weapon against the devils. After creating the “Fate Awakening Crystal,” which can turn a human into a God, the angels could only wait for the day they found someone who was compatible with it…

One day in the Human World, a boy is attacked by a group of devils on his way home from school. He is stabbed through the heart, but as he is dying, he gets saved by a mysterious girl, and wakes up in an unknown location—Celestia. As if guided by the Fate Awakening Crystal that is implanted in his chest, he finds himself thrust into the middle of a war between angels and devils. With his newly awakened powers, he must choose how best to use them, and ultimately, which of the two new girls in his life he will be able to save…

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd to feature English lyric translations

Hatsune-Miku-Project-Diva-F-2nd-eng-screenshot- (4)

Back when the first Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F was released in the West, one of the issues I had with the title was the fact that despite the game featuring a place for lyrics to be translated into English, an actual translation was not provided by Sega. Well it looks like that will not be an issue when Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd is released because Sega has revealed that the title will feature lyric translations for “the majority” of the 40 songs available in the game.

To go along with this announcement, not only did Sega reveal some new screenshots of the game showing off the English subtitles, they also released a new gameplay video that can be found below. Unfortunately they did not provide a more solid release window yet, so you can still expect Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd to drop in North America and Europe sometime this fall.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse New Gameplay And Character

dragon-ball-xenoverse-mystery-character-01

Bandai Namco and Dimps are having alot of fun teasing the details of their new title Dragon Ball: Xenoverse, choosing to tease yet another mystery character this time in the form of a rather evil looking silhouette. The character is pictured in front of the ‘Time Vault’ which could mean they have some control over time or will also be travelling back in time. Either way the introduction of yet another original character means that the developers are taking this original story seriously and that alot of work will be going into it, which is a good sign for the game.

We also have a few more gameplay videos courtesy of the Japan Expo that is happening right now over in France. You can watch Goku Vs Vegeta and Goku Vs Cell. Some of the highlights include Goku and Vegeta transforming in real time, some kamehemeha victories and a slight closer look at stage destruction. You can tell from a few chinks in the gameplay and camera that the game is still in early alpha as the developers are stressing but it is still looking very impressive. We also got a sneaky look at the character select screen and stage select screen, which leads us to believe that over 24 characters will be present as well as 24 stages. You can view the videos form the expo below.

Carlo Carlei’s Romeo & Juliet on DVD and Digital September 10

IMG_5273.CR2
Along with Amma Asante’s romance-drama Belle, Icon Home Entertainment is bringing Carlo Cerlei’s version of the classic Shakespeare story Romeo & Juliet to DVD and Digital on September 10. This new take has been especially lauded for its spectacular score, nominated for Film Music Composition of the Year and winning Film Score of the Year and Best Original Film Score for a Drama at the 2013 International Film Music Critics Awards (IFMCA).

The movie stars Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, 2010) as Juliet and Douglas Booth (NOAH and the upcoming Jupiter Ascending) as Romeo in what is regarded a traditional adaptation of the characters and tale, but re-imagined by Academy Award-winning writer Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey). Veteran names such as Paul Giamatti, Damian Lewis, Stellan Skarsgård and Ed Westwick round out the highly talented cast. Although everyone involved is great, one must wonder how many times the same story can be retold! If you’re a fan of Shakespeare’s works and tragic love stories in general, however, check out Romeo & Juliet come September 10.

Aksys Games to make “special video game announcements” at Anime Expo

under-night-in-birth-screenshot-01

As some of you might know, Anime Expo is this weekend in Los Angeles and it looks like Aksys Games is going to be revealing something during the event. The company stated that they will have a booth set up where attendees can play Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max, and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma but they have also said that they will be making some “special video game announcements” during a panel that will be held at 3 PM PDT on July 4th.

While it is possible that this could simply be additional news for previously announced games, there is a good chance that there will probably be a game localization announcement made. Many people believe it could be Under Night In-Birth, shown above, while others are hoping for Fate Extra CCC, any guesses as to what we might see?
