“I stand watch for eternity!” was the hint for today’s Mortal Kombat X character reveal from Netherrealm Studios, and it couldn’t have been more obvious. However, expected as it may have been, confirmation of Raiden’s inclusion on the Mortal Kombat X roster was also dearly desired… I mean, imagine next-gen lightning effects in combination with the enhanced “gore system”! Well, now you don’t have to.
Check out his announcement/gameplay trailer below, which showcases the abilities of all three of his fighting variations against Sun God Kotal Kahn, as well as his X-Ray move and an electrifying fatality to cap it all off. His variations are as follows: Thunder God, which centers around big damage blasts; Displacer, which utilities his teleportation abilities for a big mix-up game that allows for extended combos, and Storm Lord, which is the most unique, enabling Raiden to set lightning traps for high zoning potential. And what can be said about his first fatality, other than it will have your eyes popping out of your head! Literally!

Ar nosurge: Ode to an Unborn Star follows the journey of two groups: Delta and Casty and Ion and Earthes, both driven to find a way to their home planets. However, Delta and Casty fight to protect humanity from the mysterious new species, the Sharl; while Ion and Earthes are fighting to bring the Sharl and humans together for coexistence. The annual Evo Championship Series is practically fighting game mecca, and every year there is at least a couple reveals to send fans of IPs like Street Fighter, Tekken, Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat into a frenzy. At Evo 2014, the latter two properties are enjoying big announcements, with Iron Galaxy Studios and Microsoft Studios going first.
Their big news is the second officially announced character for Season 2 of Killer Instinct: Maya. The Incan-inspired warrior was probably the last character expected, as her original look was not inspired to say the least, and overall, she wasn’t very popular back in the day. But, in being able to overhaul these stalwarts, the team at Iron Galaxy Studios have really done her some much needed justice. Her gameplay wasn’t demonstrated at the developer’s panel, but you can check out a full body concept art of her new look below.
Click for a better look at the City of Dawn
And above, you can see a glimpse at her stage, called the ‘City of Dawn’. The developers explained that they fleshed Maya out beyond her attire and aesthetic, giving names to her trademark daggers – “Temperance” and “Vengeance” – and even went on to detail just how she plays. By all accounts, she sounds like a formidable opponent and powerful choice for gamers, with projectile attacks utilizing said blades that actually level up with every consecutive, chained hit. In doing so, they gain new properties, but if she misses with one of her throws, she will have to pick the blade back up or else battle without them. We can’t wait to see her in motion!
Let’s face it, we all spend too much time in front of our smartphones and computers, well fret not my friends because Hatsune Miku is here to help. The prestigious Areishia Spirit Academy has trained generation after generation of pure maidens in the art of spirit contracting. But this society of young elite ladies is soon turned on its head by the arrival of Kamito Kazehaya, an unintentional pervert who stumbles upon academy student Claire in the middle of her own very sacred, very nude, spirit contracting ritual! Not only does Kamito get an eyeful, but an earful as well when he finds out that he’s unintentionally stolen the spirit Claire was trying to contract, leading to a very startling revelation: not only is Kamito an elementalist, but he’s the only male elementalist in the world! Now, forced to enroll in the all-girl Areishia Academy, Kamito’s about to learn more than he bargained for about magic and the opposite sex. And with this many ladies around, things are sure to get feisty!
Although no digital outlets have been mentioned by Sentai, Crunchyroll have recently confirmed they will be streaming the anime. Let us know what you think about Bladedance of Elementalers by leaving a comment down below.
Last year, PC and Xbox 360 gamers got an epic action FPS,Deadfall Adventures. Now PlaySation 3 gamers can finally get in on the action as well. Independent developer The Farm 51 announced that Deadfall Adventures is coming to PS3, with a number of extra enhancements.
The game differs a bit from the original version, bringing improved gameplay and a number of changes to the table. Titled Deadfall Advenures: Heart of Atlantis, it still is largely based on the Allan Quartermain novels written by Henry Rider Haggard. Players fill the role of James Lee Quartermain, grandson of the famous adventurer, as he searches for treasure in locales such as the ice of the Arctic North, deserts of Egypt and jungles of Guatemala.
Changes that The Farm 51 has pointed out are the addition of a new co-op survival mode, along with new boss fights, cut scenes, locations and an improved leveling system. The developer also plans to put a cherry on top by overhauling the graphics. Though there is no date yet set for this release, but we should see it this summer.
There is yet another video released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions showing more about the fantasy game; Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. This one is about what goes behind-the-scenes; we get an insight as to what has gone into the game’s motion capture and cinematic philosophy. You can check it out below.
Earlier this year, we saw the gameplay walk-through which fueled my excitement for this game; it is worth checking out. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a dynamic game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. Players become Talion, a ranger who loses his family and everything he holds dear at the hands of Sauron. He is resurrected by a mysterious Spirit of vengeance, which compels him on his personal vendetta. The journey unfolds as you uncover the mystery of the Spirit, discover the origin of the Rings of Power and confront the ultimate nemesis.
Launching worldwide on October 7 on all platforms, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks like it is going to be pretty ‘orcsome’. Also if you’re lucky enough to going to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con on July 25th, be sure to check out the panel for the game while you’re there.
