Today Sunset Overdrive not only saw the release of a new gameplay trailer that involves Floyd, a former FizzCo scientist, giving the player a tour around town and some additional screenshots, all of which can be seen below, an Xbox One bundle was also announced for the game.

This bundle will be priced at $399 / €399 / £329.
Remember back in May when Remedy Entertainment revealed that they wouldn’t be showing off anything new for Quantum Break until Gamescom? Well they held true to their word as today at the event Microsoft revealed the first gameplay footage for Quantum Break which shows off protagonist Jack Joyce’s time manipulation abilities and how they can be used in combat.
Some of the highlights include being able to outsmart and outmaneuver enemies by being able to bend and freeze time to your will, freeze time to gain a tactical advantage by attacking from where they least expect it, and navigate catastrophes by pausing, rewinding, and stuttering time. Check out the gameplay footage as well as some new screenshots below.
In May, we saw the release of Tropico 5 on PC, but now the tropical island sim may grow its fan club a bit more with the release date for the Xbox 360 version finally announced. It has been declared that the global release for the game will be November 2014.
Xboxers will be rewarded for their patience. The console version will include the DLC pack, ‘The Big Cheese’ for free! For the truly eager fans, there’s more. There is a Limited Special Edition version to which includes your very own Tropico passport, a postcard of the island and 2 additional DLCs, the ‘Bayo del Olfato’ DLC and ‘The Big Cheese’; one which opens up a new map. This new game was certain a step up from Tropico 4 with plenty of new features. Apart from the advanced trading mechanics, technology and scientific research options and island exploration, Tropico 5has a new cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players for the first time in the series’ history.
So now that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, be prepared to claim your rightful place at the top as the grand Dictat… I mean, El Presidente, and rule over the infamous island of Tropico. Guide your nation during your reign as you tackle diplomatic, economic and social issues. Strategically manage rebellions, your people’s changing needs and opposing governments to build and ensure your Caribbean dynasty.
Isn’t it funny how a Beta once was an exciting thing that was exclusive to most, for the sole purpose of quality control? Now, its just a throwaway demo used to get eager fans to pre-order a game, and while I am against that mindset, those who are excited about Evolve will probably be ready to know that a beta for the game will be exclusively for Xbox One owners this January.
On top of that news, 2K Games and Turtle Rock have also put out a trailer for their anticipated title, showing off the “Distillery” map, which features dynamic snowstorms, hidden routes, and a match in progress. The whole boss battle aspect is certainly tempting, so check out the trailer and you can pick up Evolve for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this February.
When you mention Fable in large groups, you usually have one person who smiles big while ten others frown in disgust. Take it or leave it, this franchise has been on its own little route since the second installment, and those who wanted a more serious game are in need to look elsewhere.
With that out of the way, Lionhead Studios certainly have a lot on the table with Fable Legends for the Xbox One. Along with its animated atmosphere and more upbeat and colorful visuals, this follow-up will include multiplayer that is unique from anything we have seen before, with one person who is playing the evil doer controlling the outcome of quests. Four heroes can also team up, which would make the AI in the game take the front on that scene – allowing teamwork to reign at the core of the experience. It actually looks rather decent, and you can check out the shiny new trailer from Gamescom down below that goes a bit further into detail.
To the surprise of many, today Square Enix announced during Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released exclusively for the Xbox. It is worth noting that he did not mention whether it would be only for Xbox One, meaning it might be a cross-gen title. That being said, this is surely to surprise many as the original Tomb Raider reboot was released on Sony consoles as well as Microsoft and even the Remastered version was given a release on the PlayStation 4.
To explain the decision to fans, Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher addressed the community in a letter you can read below.
Dear Tomb Raider Community,
As you may have seen, we’ve just announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider, coming Holiday 2015, is exclusively on Xbox. We consider all of you to be the lifeblood of Tomb Raider and the work we do at Crystal. I’d like to give you some insight into this decision, and why we feel this is the very best thing for the Tomb Raider sequel we’re creating at the studio.
Tomb Raider in 2013 was a success due in large part to your continued support. Our goal has always been to deliver something truly special with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Today’s announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming. Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past – we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft.
This doesn’t mean that we’re walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC. Those are great systems, with great partners, and amazing communities. We have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris coming to those platforms this December, and Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is available on PS4.
We know that there are probably many more questions and concerns. Please do send them to us, and we’ll answer to the best of our ability. Meanwhile we’re going all out to try and make something truly special – the most ambitious Tomb Raider game ever built.
Thanks,
Darrell Gallagher
