Grand Theft Auto V PS4 to PS3 Comparison is Significant

GTA-V-Remastered-Screenshot-19

In another piece of Grand Theft Auto V for next-gen news, Rockstar have released a comparison video highlighting the dramatic differences between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions. You get the sense that Grand Theft Auto V was actually made for next-gen consoles, which is something that can’t be said for other remasters.

On top of the up-rezzed textures, 1080p resolution, and more than doubled draw-distance, the addition of the first-person mode and classic franchise cars, as well as the exclusive content for returning players, means that this is the biggest and best re-release ever. Period. It’s worth noting that the 1080p, 30fps benchmark will be maintained on the Xbox One and PC editions too, with the latter receiving 4K resolution support. Check out the comparison video for yourself below.

Grand Theft Auto V will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, and for the PC on January 27, 2015.

Check Out the Grand Theft Auto V: First-Person Experience

GTA-V-Remastered-Screenshot-29

Okay, so if all that exclusive content for returning players still had you unsure about purchasing and playing through Grand Theft Auto V all over again would be worth it, now you will be so sure. Rockstar have released a trailer showcasing the new “First-Person Experience” for the enhanced re-release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and it is the furthest thing from those quick-and-easy PC mods people have made.

Not only can you switch between first-person and third-person at any time (in-vehicle, during a shootout, whilst behind cover and in the midst of a violent ragdoll moment), but every vehicle has had its interiors modelled in detail, a more traditional FPS control scheme has been integrated, the targeting system offers more options and 3,000 new weapon animations have been added. Oh, and the mode is accessible in both single-player and GTA Online. Check out the breath-taking trailer below, as well as our gallery of brand new screenshots.

Grand Theft Auto V for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be available on November 18, and for PC on January 27, 2015.

Innaugural Mortal Kombat X ‘Kombat Kast’ Demonstrates Variations in Depth

Mortal-Kombat-X-Screenshot-08

The team at NetherRealm Studios held their first ‘Kombat Kast’ live stream on Twitch earlier today. During the 45 minute session Community Specialist Tyler Lansdown and Designer Derek Kirtzic play many legitimate matches whilst ‘special guest’ John Edwards, Lead Designer on Mortal Kombat X, added some insight on what was happening on screen.

Unfortunately, after promising to let the intros before each fight play out for the viewers, Tyler and Derek proceeded to talk over them, preventing us from making out any of the dialogue between players. Anyone who read my hands-on preview of the title from EB Expo knows that I tried my hardest to hear and remember those, as they give us our biggest hints at the story and relationships within Mortal Kombat X. What was great, however, is finally learning what each of Kotal Kahn’s totems and Quan Chi’s spells do. Oh, and FINALLY we bare witness to Scorpion’s full fatality, which is brutal! Not to mention, seeing a pro pull off amazing combos with the likes of Scorpion, Kano and more is kind of awe-inspiring.

Check out the new gameplay below! Mortal Kombat X releases on April 15 2015 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Welcome to Kyrat – Far Cry 4’s Story Trailer

far-cry-4-screenshot-004

Ubisoft just shared Far Cry 4‘s story trailer, and it reveals quite a bit. What I find intriguing is Pagan Min’s respect for the player character, which has been shown in previous footage but is reinforced here after he barely bats an eye at Ajay murdering his men. He seems peeved, yes, but it’s almost like a minor irritation at most.

We also learn more about the resistance to Pagan Min’s regime, the Golden Path. Though they are of one united goal, they are not exempt from their own internal struggles as two figures vie for ultimate leadership. Sabal is headstrong in defending the traditional ways in approaching Kyrat’s future, whilst Amita wishes to bring Kyrat forward in line with the ‘new world’. Having returned to scatter his mother’s ashes, Ajay is caught between these varied, but extreme personalities in their own right, as the conflict rages.

Check out “Welcome to Kyrat!” embedded below. Far Cry 4 releases on November 18 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
